Beautiful Location, Sweet InnPosted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Great location, quaint, breakfast every morning right outside our door, right on Sandy Beach. Walk 5 minutes to the left of the hotel on the beach.
Cons: Bar open later.
Location: Perfect location but you definitely need a car. You can walk to a restaurant but you'll want to visit more and other beaches.
Rincon was beautiful in late April, with warm days with a nice cool breeze, fewer people, great sunshine, great food, quiet and so pretty. The beaches are almost empty. One concern was the roughness of the ocean with a big rip tide (on both sides of the island). Terrific food at reasonable prices and a fun area to drive around the small Rincon area. Don't miss the lighthouse.

Beautiful little inn - great view!Posted Sep 3, 2014 on Hotels
I had a wonderful 5 night stay at Casa Islena. It is the cutest little inn, right on the beach. The pool and pool area are clean and a nice area to relax. The restaurant in the hotel (where we had breakfast every day) was good. Our room was clean and comfortable, and the property was well maintained. The desk staff were very accomodating when we needed towels, restaurant recomendations, or inquired about a room upgrade. And it's right on the beach with a lovely view, and short walk down to a bunch of other hotels and restaurants. I liked that Casa Islena wasn't right in the middle of things, as this made it more quiet and relaxing, but it was easy to get anywhere else we wanted!

Rincon Birthday Surfing TripPosted Mar 31, 2014 on Hotels
Awesome location that's right on the beach. We already want to go back. The people we friendly & the breakfast was a great way to start your day (although it's no longer a free continental) The Inn is located within walking distance to some other great restaurants too.

We were in Rincon for a wedding and loved staying at Casa Islena. Right on the beach with a fantastic tapas restaurant and in walking distance of a couple nice bar/restaurants. The staff was friendly, the rooms clean and spacious. If you are looking for a full service hotel or an upscale beach town with tons to do, Casa Islean and Rincon are probably not for you. But, if you are looking for a great place to relax, beautiful surroundings, and a quiet place to vacation head to Rincon and Casa Islena.

Sehr empfehlenswertPosted Jan 27, 2012
Sehr nettes Team, saubere und grosszügige Zimmer. Direkt am Starnd. Sehr schöner, kleiner Pool. Lädt zum entspannen und geniessen ein. Achtung Bar schliesst gegen 22 Uhr. Fussläufig ist eine Bar erreichbar. Um in den Ort zu kommen benötigt man ein Auto oder einen Roller

Beautiful place, NICE staff working, BUT.....Posted Aug 10, 2010 on Hotels
When my wife, son and I went into our room for the first time, we got the impression that the room hadn't been opened for ages. I don't know if this is true or not, but it was the impression: muggy, stuffy, mildew-smelling and about 10 degrees hotter than it was outside...in Puerto rico...in JULY....very, very HOT! We turned on the battered A/C and it simply didn't work. It was blowing warm air into the room. I went down to the desk to mention it and the girl at the counter said they're going to get it checked out the following morning by a technician. Fine...i can live through one sweaty night on my vacation.... the following afternoon, the manager of the hotel told me the guy hadn't come yet, but she went and checked it out and basically told me it was my fault because i put the unit on max cold. She said to leave it on low and it would eventually cool off the room. It didn't. We sweat through the night again. When i asked later in the day, the girl told me that the guy did indeed come and told them the unit needed replacement. I guess the manager didn't want me knowing that. (because i couldn't figure it out on my own, right?) Anyway, the girl told me, helplessly, that there was nothing they could do. My wife was pregnant and uncomfortable, so i persisted a bit and she offered me another room in another parador - NOT in front of the ocean...and one other thing: it only had 1 King-sized bed. Me, my pregnant wife and my son on 1 bed....not gonna work. we wound up staying and sweating for 3 days... I understand that they were unable to fix the A/C during my stay, but a few things about this still bother me. 1- the manager lady's dishonesty. she wouldn't come forward and tell me anything....in fact, the ONLY THING she told through the whole experience was that it wasn't working because i changed the settings...that's unacceptable and utterly absurd. thank god the girl at the desk was more intelligent and honest than this woman. 2- They didn't offer any kind of reimbursement or a free night in the future... i'm not one to ask for these things, but i think it was a fair expectation. 3- the whole time i was speaking to them, i feel like they weren't willing to deal with it... i could be wrong, but it really seemed like the girl at the counter had her hands tied by a manager who didn't want to realistically do anything to rectify the situation... it kind of felt like they just expected me to grin and bear it. weird. 4- when i asked the girl at the counter if they had (at the very least) any pedestal fans they could lend us to make the room slightly more tolerable, she just said "sorry" and gave me her helpless look again. It was really frustrating. I have stayed at B&B's where i'm sure the manager would have jumped in the car and grabbed two fans from the nearest K-mart to at least feign the appearance of caring even a little bit...that kind of thing speaks volumes about the level of customer care the parador is willing to provide...and isn't that one of the reasons to stay in a parador? the level of personal care? I was disappointed. 5- The A/C unit was in such bad shape, there is no possible way that i'm the first to complain about it...that said, why would they allow that room to be rented? That's greedy, unprofessional and irresponsible on the owner/manager's part. 6- After a while, i felt like the girl at the counter and the manager were avoiding making eye contact...REALLY unprofessional. 7- (unrelated, but weird) Their bathroom had a clear glass window without a curtain to the outside...IN THE SHOWER!!!! it was five feet off the ground to the outside...weird. Look: the place is great, quaint, and really well-located. The guy from florida and girl from rincon serving food and drinks were beyond nice and helpful and it seemed that every other guest dug their stay...just not me.... so, fair warning: if you book here, hope that you're the lucky one who doesn't need any room maintenance during your stay because they really don't care at all about that. You're cash in the bank to them. With that in mind, i'd stay in another one if i were you.
