Great Location!Posted Mar 13, 2015
Pros: Location and service.
Location: Right in the middle of Old San Juan. Many great restaurants, shops, and things to see very close by.
ecently stayed here for 4 nights and would stay again. Keep in mind this is a small boutique hotel and there really isn't anything fancy about it. My room was 4G and had a big balcony, but really just overlooked rooftops. Room was small, but the bathroom was roomy with a very large shower. Bed was big and very comfortable. No frills, but I'm not one to spend much time in my room. There is a restaurant and bar available in hotel. Drinks at bar were cheap and breakfast was okay. Now, the best things about this hotel: location, location, location, Miguel and staff. This hotel is on Calle Fortaleza and in the heart of Old San Juan. Everything is just steps away including great restaurants, shops, and both big forts. You can’t stay in a better location to have access to so much. Miguel worked at the desk in the evenings and was incredibly friendly and helpful. For the price, I would highly recommend this hotel. Also know that there are no elevators, so stairs are the only way to access your rooms.

Bathtubs on the roof!Posted Mar 10, 2015
Pros: Bathtubs on the roof so relaxing!
Cons: Needs an elevator.
Location: Read above
Beautiful old hotel with tons of character. Walking distance to tons of shopping, great eateries and historical tours. There are 5 beautiful stories to this old charmer with 4 amazing stone bathtubs on the roof and a great view of the cites, ports and old fort. The tubs were very relaxing, very slow to fill, but just turn it on and let it run if you are not in a hurry. The hotel does not have an elevator at this time, so be ready to climb! There gracious staff will take your bags to and from your room, give them a tip! That is a tough job. According to the front desk, there are some talks in installing an elevator in the next year 2015-2016?? About a block and a half away was a restaurant called La Madre....... burritos, enchiladas, tacos, fajitas. Really tasty salsa and fantastic sangria $32 for a pitcher. Great time for pre or post cruise stay!

Perfect, everything we expected, no surprisesPosted Feb 17, 2015 on Hotels.com
We traveled with friends for an overnight stay prior to getting on a cruise ship. The location was perfect. We got in later than expected and worried they might not hold the room. But we had no problems checking in, the staff was extremely helpful and informative. The rooms were clean and the rooftop gave us a nice view of the city below. It had the perfect Puerto Rican flavor we wanted. They held our bags the next morning so we could enjoy the city. I would stay again in a heartbeat. True there is no elevator, but it really didn't matter to us.

Good location, but that's about it. No window.Posted Feb 11, 2015 on Hotels.com
The good thing was the hotel is right in Old San Juan and it's easy to get around. The room on the other hand left a lot to be desired. First, it has no window. This should be stated in the room's description. Also the AC unit could not control the humidity. All our clothes in the suitcases were damp. The bathroom was awkwardly arranged.

Shabby. Not chic.Posted Feb 11, 2015 on Hotels.com
Hotel was for one night in Old San Juan. Easy to find and very North African in style, but very tired and old and in poor condition. The room had no window and was very dated indeed, the bathroom was excessively tired and old and the same applied to the rest of the hotel. Service at breakfast was extremely poor with most things listed on the menu not available and coffee cups cleared away before they were empty. I can't recommend this place - go elsewhere.
