Nice hotel, just nice...right on the beach, though

Cons - Not a bad hotel, but the staff could use some customer service training. 1.Bartender at the pool bar not sure how to take drink orders in the order that people walk up to the bar. I was 3rd in line and after he made drinks for customers number 4 and 5, I simply walked away. It wasn't Rush Street on a Friday night, you know. 2.Long check in lines and a faulty check out system. Instructions state to use in room phone to check out and an email would be sent with confirmation. Returned home almost 10 days ago and still no email. 3. Woman at concierge desk, simply did not know how to use a computer. Booked a kayak excursion and was told to wear comfortable clothing. Next day when ready to board the bus for the trip, was asked by another concierge representative if I brought my towel and change of clothes. What? The second concierge representative waited with the driver until I grabbed what I needed from the room. (I deeply regret not catching his name, so that I can praise him here by his full name). Pros - 1. The second concierge that I refered to above also worked a shift the following morning and as I walked by his desk on my way to the pool, he came out from around his counter to greet me and asked how my trip was and wanted to know if everything was alright. This is the guy who should teach everyone else about proper customer service. 2. YAMATO, Japanese Restaurant - EXCELLENT!!!! Ate there twice.

Hotel stay

Posted Jun 26, 2015
hotel is a bit outdated. Part f the staff was very friendly. Bar staff in the main area had no personality and a bit smirky. Breakfast was a bit disorganized. Very long wait. They should open up the tables on the side by th front bar. Bathrooms need to be revamped shower overflowed and never had it fix even after calling 3 times.

Loved it!

Posted Jun 23, 2015
Pros: We liked the location and closeness to the clean beach area. The pools were beautiful. The room was great, including housekeeping, a/c, and mattress
Cons: Clean the furniture on the balcony a little better. Also there was a female bartender that was there when Carmen was off and she was not friendly.
Location: The location was great! many things to do in the area! Swimming in the pool, in the warm beach water, and parasailing. Also a 24 hr. Walgreens nearby
The entire experience was fantastic! We loved this hotel. We stayed for 1 week; our 1st time here and to Puerto Rico and we would definitely stay here again. we want to commend Carmen at the outside bar. She was friendly, informative about Puerto Rico, and a great bar tender!

close to the beach, do not stay in the garden room

Posted Jun 21, 2015
Hotel lobby was very nice with bars, shops, and restaurants. The lobby is very lively with Salsa music on the weekends. The hotel is convieniently located on the beach with 3 pools, and 2 hot tubs. The pools could have been kept a little cleaner. Our Garden Lanai rooms were a let down. We ended up having to change rooms due to many issues with our plumbing. The room was run down, sliding doors did not work, toilet didn't flush, faucets had no water pressure and there was a leak in the ceiling. We had to clean a flooded bathroom at 2am.

nice bar in the loby

Posted Jun 20, 2015
Pros: the loby bar
Cons: rooms not comfortable. I was charged for thinks I did not spent and it takes a lot of time to clear it up with the staff over the phone.
Location: Check your bill with a microscope.
Front desk staff, not nice. over charged for things I did not charge. Had to call the hotel back and spend over one hr on the phone. The same thing happened to me last year when I was in this hotel. Check your final bill and your credit card statement very carfully.

Stayed a week for our honeymoon. Checkin and checkout was smooth. Lobby bartenders were great. Room walls are paper thin and I heard my neighbors fighting constantly but security arrived one night promptly and shut it down. Meat market was amazing!!!
