Wonderful Sea Side Experience!Posted Nov 15, 2013
Pros: Service annd cleaniness
Location: Swimming beach nearby, ice skating arena, bowling park, shopping centers and restaurants
I had the opportunity to live on of the best experiences of my life. I had a low level of expectation regarding this hotel and thanks to God I was happily surprised. From the beginning everything was right, I was not just someone who had come to the hotel, I was treated as part of their family and they were expecting me. I was surprised by how my room was found pristine clean condition, properly maintained with all the amenities in working order. The sea side location allowed my mind to be mesmerized by the beauty, force and power of the Atlantic Ocean, meanwhile I took a time to relax in front of it. I cannot describe you the hidden treasure found in the hotel restaurant. The fresh sea food mixed was crowned with the fresh creole flavors. The best part of the experience was the service. They did everything in their abilities to made fell like in home.

A little dated but nice.Posted Aug 5, 2013
Pros: Cleanliness and view!
Location: There are many nice restaurants and bars walking distance from the hotel. The hotel itself has a rest. Really good food.
The hotel can use a little remodeling or at least a facelift but in general it is clean and comfy but best of all is the view. Beautiful ocean view; feels like you're right on the beach (you literally are). When we arrived to the hotel first impression was "this is not what I was expecting" (we had just spent a few days at a well known beach resort just before) but it's charm quickly changed my mind. I would definitely return to this hotel. Really nice hospitality from Freddie (the owner) and his wife. Clean and comfy!

Not fancy but does the trick~Posted Jul 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had a great stay. The beach was right outside our balcony and we were able to explore a long stretch of it in both directions. This is not a fancy hotel, not a chain and appears to be run by a family. The staff was friendly, the mofongo was delicious and the drinks strong. The room was clean, had a mini-fridge and an amazing view. If you stay at the Hotel Colombus and do not compare it to staying a large American chain hotel, you will be happy.

Nice viewPosted Jul 23, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was Ok. But the mattress was very uncomfortable. The air conditioning was weak. The place was noisy with karaoke at night. Not sure what the reservation included: continental breakfast, etc. The promotional page on the internet showed a pool, no such thing at the real hotel. We were treated with courtesy and friendliness. We enjoyed the cleanliness and the spectacular ocean view.

One man showPosted Jul 16, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotels.com suggested this hotel and being desperate for one night we booked it. The hotel was extremely run down and although the owner tried very hard to please and was very accommodating, I was glad we were there for only one night. I felt sorry for guests that were there for a week. Hardly any light in the room, poor tile work in shower so water had to be kicked down the drain, was mold on the ceiling, there was a power failure so there was no air conditioning even though there was a generator there. Owner was bartender, cook, waiter ....everything. Beds had very worn out thin sheets and no mattress cover or top sheet. Pillows were extremely old and gross....something I would have thrown out 20 years ago. First thing I did was look for bedbugs. The room was barely large enough to walk around in. Not even a closet.....no windows....overall like staying in a camp for adults. However, the one positive thing I can say was that for its run down condition, it was clean and I did not see any bugs anywhere.

Beach ShackPosted Jul 15, 2013
Mom and pop business that charges Hilton prices. Brown sand and rocky beach. Plastic covers hard beds worse that lawn furniture. Room not stocked with towels or wash clothes. Best of all no power for the ac and a loud smelly generator for lights. Definitely not a retreat.

NICE ROOM BUT NOT A NICE BEACHPosted Jul 9, 2013 on Hotels.com
THE ROOMS ARE CLEAN, THE SERVICE IS NOT WHAT YOU WILL EXPECT FROM A HOTEL. THERE IS NO BEACH, BUT RINCON AND AGUADILLA ARE NEARBY AND HAVE BEAUTIFUL BEACHES. THE SORROUNDING ARE NOT VERY APPEALING. BUT FOR A PLACE TO STAY OVERNIGHT IS GOOD

One day stay for pleasurePosted Jul 8, 2013
Location: Lot of good areas near.
Hotel in good location and clean rooms but lacks a lot of maintenance and things that are practical. Not even curtains to close at night.

Great Local Beachfront StayPosted Jul 1, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel Colombus is a stay made for those looking for a local flair, much different than that of San Juan, PR. I enjoyed being amongst the locals experiencing the beach and the food. The service at the hotel was impeccable anything that I requested was provided immediately. The owner Freddie did all that he could to ensure that all of my family’s needs were met. The restaurant at the property served delicious cuisines. The Mofongo in particular was fixed to perfection. In addition, the drinks were good as well. Overall the experience was great, please; try this place if you are looking for a place for family and amongst the locals.
