Keys didn't work - room was cleaned once in three days - very basic and not worth the money. We often travel to San Juan for business and we will take ours elsewhere. The hotel does have a lot of potential.

Pros: Trip Advisor
We were looking for a budget place for one night in Old San Juan, and that's what we got. Great location next to open plaza, clean, safe, very walkable area. We took an interior windowless room, very basic, a bit musty but that's to be expected. Old and somewhat rundown. Friendly, helpful staff. Overall, low expectations met.

This place has no windows in the room very run down!! Asked to up grade to room with windows and nothing available! Only two rooms in the front of the building have windows I was told and they were taken.. Was very nervous the one night I stayed!!

Convenient location but less than clean facilities

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Location
The "No View" deal really meant "No Window"—except for a giant window above the door that led to the hallway, where the hallway light being on all night meant that there was a permanent, large nightlight in front of our faces while we were trying to sleep. The bathroom and room floors in general weren't that clean, and the floors in the hallway, in particular, had garbage all along the route from the stairs (the elevator was broken) to our room. There were two of us staying in a room, but there was never hot water left by the second shower, no matter how short the first shower was. Our biggest priority, though, was the location, which was super convenient for us, as we were meeting up with family close by, so it was fine enough in the end.

Good location, worn down hotel.

The staff is friendly and accommodating but the hotel needs major renovation. It's ok for one night but the price is too steep.

Friendly hotel in midst of Old San Juan

Posted Mar 10, 2015
Pros: Location to Old San Juan and great restaurant and most Staff terrific and helpful.
Cons: Fix key card system?, new batteries in TV remotes (do I need 2?), some minor repairs in general.
Location: Location to Old San Juan and Barrachina Restaurant where you should try the red snapper.
Location is great for visiting Old San Juan. Manager is excellent in providing information and suggestions, even getting us last minute reservations for dinner for a group of 8, arranging transport to cruise port. As others have said, their elevator is very slow. Key card didn't work at first, the courtyard funnels sound to other floors, TV remote didn't work, but it was a temporary stay before our cruise, and to reiterate, Location and most Staff terrific and helpful.

Proximity to fun.

Bottom line...it is a great location in old San Juan. Walking distance to great bars, restaurants, cigar bars, art galleries, El Morro. Don't need a car at all in this location....location alone sells staying here. Rooms were acceptable.

Great location for a cruise ship overnight...unless your on Royal Caribbean as they dock across the bay and will require another overpriced taxi ride. Hotel is basic but, a little wore out but I've stayed in worse. Seemed clean just needs paint and touch up. Bath needs updating to bring it out of 1970 motel 6 status but it's functional. Big area for cruise bag storage but not secure as anybody could walk in and take a bag but it seemed to work. If you want luxury stay at the Sheraton but that's wasted money you could use to pay the cruise ship bar tab.
