The hotel is not fancy but it is really effective. You are in a really good location, walking distance to bars, beach, etc. You will not find a great room, just a regular room, but it was clean which is important. The best hotel for short term visits to the island

“ABSOLUTELY A GREAT HOTEL”

My family and I stayed at this hotel from Sept 28 to Oct 7 and we are extremely satisfied. The service was excellent as well as the quality, cleanness and elegance of this hotel. The reception assistants as well as the room service personnel were all very polite and professional. The continental breakfast consisted of cereal, coffee or cappuccino, muffins, pastries, fruits, toasts, along with a wonderful waitress service. The breakfast room which is in the 10th floor is very open and surrounded by windows, with a spectacular view of Isla Verde and Condado. This hotel is within walking distance from many restaurants and a 24 hour supermarket. We will definitely return to Howard Johnson Isla Verde.

I actually picked the wrong hotel while making my final reservations - but decided not to try and change it -- but once I got to HJ - it was very convenient - close to all - and very comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.

It was a wonderful place to be. The service and people were awesome. The continental breakfast was ok all seemed fresh if you got there early enough you could have some fruit. :) The view of the balcony on the 8th floor is beautiful you can see the beach right across from you. The walk to the beach is just 2 min away. Many restaurants around the hotel and you have many options. What a beautiful place to be, very close to airport and a very convenient location. Will go back and request same room.

Hotel was only a block from the beach, and room was very nice. Free internet was a bonus. Continental breakfast was just ok-we were seated at a table and then had to wait quite a while for our waitress. We were offered our choice of 1 drink and one bread choice. Resturaunt was on top floor which afforded a wonderful view of the ocean.

Hotel and people there are very frenly they are very clean I like the hotel,the only I have a litte complain was parking go in is the space is little no waider.

“Simple and convenient hotel by the beach”

When my friend and I were booking our trip to San Juan, we were concerned about price and location. The Howard Johnson Isla Verde was a short cab ride from the airport, and close to casinos and restaurants. Don't believe the review that says it is 2 blocks from the beach! Cross the street, and you're there! What could be better? Our room was small, as expected, and it came with all the amenities listed. There were no windows, but that was fine for us (since we were out late each night anyway), and we got absolutely no street noise or lobby commotion. We didn't opt to spend time in the pool, but it looked nice, and many families were enjoying the facility. As for the continental breakfast, it was basic: muffins, fresh fruit, cereal, toast, coffee, and milk. I am not used to having service for continental breakfast, so any attention from the waitstaff was welcomed. By far the best thing about this hotel was the front desk staff. They were courteous, friendly, prompt, and helpful. We appreciated their suggestions to use city transportation instead of hiring taxis, and they recommended a couple great little restaurants.
