“good!”
Is a good hotel....
“Great Hotel”
Great historic hotel - same family that built it over 110 years ago still owns and runs it. It's on the east side of the Plaza de las Delicias in downtown Ponce. The streets around the plaza (square) are all one-way counterclockwise, so once you go past the hotel, turn immediately right and its parking lot is 50 yards down the narrow side street on the right - $3 a day. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and the beds was very comfortable. Ask for a room in the front. They upgraded us to a room in the front with a balcony overlooking the plaza. Great view and the noise below ended by 10:00 when the ice cream shop closed. The morning breakfast is on the rooftop terrace, great setting. The pool with the "waterfall" is secluded, clean, and so welcome after a warm day. The plaza has the historic firehouse museum, the cathedral, a historic home, city hall, shopping, multiple fountains, shopping, and good dining. We ate at Lola's across the plaza in another hotel - excellent choice. We caught the local symphony band performing a free concert in front of city hall after our dinner. You can also catch the $2 a day trolley (with AC) on the plaza to tour you around town, although it wasn't available until mid-day when we were there in November. The only thing we would have changed about our stay would be stay 1-2 days longer next time to fully take in all that Ponce has to offer, but we would definitely stay here again.
“Will definetly go back. The location and price are perfect!”
This hotel is located in the downtown of Ponce. It is walking distance from good restaurants and nightlife spots. Is is right in front of the Plaza of Ponce. The hotel is well maintained for the time it has been there. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast terrace has a beautiful view of the city. The breakfast is good too. Centric and nice. Definetly would stay there again.
“Excellent staff service”
Hotel condition and cleanliness are average. Staff is very courteous and happy. Location is a little hard to get in due to town traffic, but allows you to walk around the City's Plaza. Overall I liked it and definitively will return if I need a place to stay in Ponce again.
“Ponce at it's best location”
This hotel is very cute and also part of the historic Ponce area. It has the basics.
“Disappointed and misinformed”
We checked in and the clerk told us that we had been upgraded to a room with 2 double beds instead of the King we had requested. Well we told them that we had requested and had also called to double check that we could get a rollaway in the king room for our son. we were assured they could handle the request; however, the rooms were so so small that we could barely walk around the beds in the double room, not to mention that the beds were not big enough for me and my 6'7" husband and out son to all sleep comfortably. we asked again about the king, and we were told that they had rooms big enough for a cot, and that the biggest they had available at the time were the 2 doubles. This would never work, but since it was late, we just took both rooms and we stayed in the king and gave our teen son the other room. We checked into the Hilton the next day and were so glad we did. The location was fabulous and the parking inexpensive ($3/day), but the rooms size and breakfst were very disappointing.
“Old style hotel in a great location”
The hotel is well located right off of the main plaza. Most tourist attractions were within walking distance. Since traffic is a concern, there should, however, be a sign in front of the hotel explaining where the hotel's parking lot is located. The rooms vary in size. We had a small but very comfortable and clean room off of the back, in the newer addition. Breakfast was very pleasant on their rooftop. There is free internet access in the business center. The front desk was helpful.
“best kept romantic secret in Ponce, PR”
The location, staff and nightlife at Ponce was extraordinary. Also very convenient to the airport.
“Its a perfect little hotel, clean and confortable”
The hotel is cousy and very clean. The view of the plza mayor and the church was so beatiful. Im realy very satisfied with the front desk treatment.
“Expremely pleased”
Our stay was wonderful, the staff were friendly and well mannered. The hotel is in the historic district of Ponce so we were able to do walking tours everywhere, I would recommend this hotel to any travelers!
