On the Beach

Posted Mar 31, 2014
Pros: The location and the bed
Cons: The room decor
Location: Great location to the beach
Our room could not have been closer to the beach - we had a million dollar view. The room was clean - but had absolutely no personality. The front room had a tv - but no sofa - so no comfortable place to watch it. The TV should have been in the bedroom. I believe it was just redone - but so cheaply. The bed was comfortable - so I slept well and the air conditioning worked well. The restaurant was great! I guess I would have not been able to afford this hotel if it was furnished nicer.

best time ever

My partner and I booked 4 hotels over our stay. We loved Lajas and Villas Del Mar. Clear water at the beach. We literally sat on a reef and watched fish swim by us! The room is huge, but they need to upgrade their bathrroms. There is a microwave, fridge and plates in the room you can use. It is not a luxurous place, but I think it's well worth the money paid! We plan on going back. Tons of small bars to go to if you have a rental car.

Very happy!

Pros: The staff were so very helpful and kind.
Cons: Perhaps have housekeeping daily
Location: We are at the local establishments that were right near the hotel. Our children did some surfing at Wave runners down the road.
We had a room on the second floor and the view was beautiful! The room was very spacious and had a deck with chairs. There was a small kitchen area with refrigerator, microwave, coffe maker and sink which made it easy to make meals. The staff were superb and so very helpful. We had a flight that came in at 3:00 am and we arrived at 9:00 am. Our room was ready and we were allowed in early which gave us all a chance to get some much needed sleep. Housekeeping was available if requested, it wasn't automatic. The restaurant on site was good and we were given a voucher for a free drink at the restaurant. The only drawback for me was the loud ocean sounds - the waves breaking on the beach were fast and furious and very, very loud. This made it challenging for me to sleep. The air conditioning was great, and the air flow refreshing. We were all very happy and would retun again to the area. You need to be careful swimming in the area and at the beach as there is a strong current.

The hotel stands in a privileged location. The beach is beautiful. However, it looks like a summer camp facility rather than a hotel. There was an annoying cellar window in the room right on top of my bed. So I could not sleep later than 8am because of the amount of light entering the room. The employees were friendly. Although they make you wear hand bracelets for security reasons. Also, first time I am in a hotel that they make me wait for the room to be inspected so I could finish the check out process.
