“Pop Art Hotel is cheerful and affordable”

Pop Art Hotel is a very cheerful, attractive, artsy, clean, affordable place to stay in Old San Juan. The staff were extremely helpful in answering our questions and efficiently checking us in. The rooms have interesting decorations. It's just a short walk to the two large Spanish forts on the coast and to all of the Old San Juan attractions. I would definitely stay at Pop Art again.

“AMAZING STAFF WHO WENT ABOVE AND BOYOND”

The staff went above and beyond to help us plan our stay and to make us feel at home. They were a young and lively staff with great suggestions. I would highly recommend this for anyone who wants to get the local scoop and a home- like feel.

“Excellent experience”

Francisco and Frederico were wonderful as was the rest of the very helpful staff. The location is superb, right near everything in Old San Juan, easy walking distance. No car needed. The hotel can be hard to find because there is no sign outside. Tell taxis it's across the street from the St. Germain restaurant (which is great too!).

“Very helpful front desk”

The front desk staff member was great. He directed me to a good local restaurant and helped me get a cab with other guests who were leaving at the same time. Service was above and beyond my expectations.

“Great hotel! Excellent location!”

The girls at the front desk were so nice and very helpful. They ordered a rental car for us and arranged for a pickup. They recommended great places to eat and nice sites to see. They were very accommodating.

“Fun little place”

Great hotel. Was clean, centrally located in Old San Juan, materially exactly what you would expect. Both staff and guests were very friendly - one night we (my partner and I), another couple and the staff of the hotel all sat around drinking wine and listening to music. In the morning they gave us a lot of help finding things to do and renting cars. Overall, I'd highly recommend that anyone visiting San Juan should stay here. One caveat - breakfast is provided in the form of a self-service kitchen. I.e., they give you eggs and a frying pan, it's your job to fry the eggs and wash up after. It's a simple place to stay, not a luxury hotel.

“walking around old town, all day long tourist only”

I booked this hotel about a month before our trip at a mid hundred dollar rate. When we checked in there, it was a total disappointment because it is more like a b&b than a hotel (entrance is like a hostel but cleaner and better looking). Staff was extremely helpful and they found us another room at another hotel in about 5 minutes at no extra cost (well in fact the rooms were available at a cheaper price online at that moment). However, the other hotel was very small too with no room to unpack so we ended up canceling this reservation altogether (thanks to hotel manager) & booked a new one (one of the chain resorts). For some reason all hotels were less expensive than they were advertising a month ago, so we stayed at a 4 star hotel at around the same price for this one. The location of this hotel in old town is great however, if you are planning to be outside all day long. Although rooms are decorated pretty nice, there is no TV, no windows (maybe except a few rooms), very small space so it is not vey suitable to relax & spend some time in the room except sleeping.

“Worst place for a family stay!”

The so called 2 bedroom suite looked more like two small closets with bunk beds, no space to move about, it was so hot in there and there was no air conditioning. We could have never chosen a worst place to stay for our first time in Puerto Rico, very disappointing!
