“Good location in Old San Juan”

Hotel overlooks the Cruise ship docks. Very ideal location for easy access to bars and souvenir shops. Surrounding areas feel very safe and within walking distance to a Castle.

“Sheraton-PR”

We're very satisfied with the service. We came earlier than check-in time. It was easy to request for storage of our luggages & they take your luggage to your room once available. Our room is ocean view and has easy access to the swimming pool which has a nice view. The hotel is also nearby eating places & attractions.

“Nice but could have been nicer”

The location of the hotel was great! The employees were nice. At fist glance the hotel seemed really nice. However, at further inspection it can be better maintained (painting), rugs were stained in my room, and the entire hotel smelled like dirty rugs including my room, (like a smelly casino). This was a turn off - hotel is not as well manicured as pictured on the hotel ads and site. Overall, the hotel was nice but definitely could have been nicer. But the hotel's employees were really nice and the location of the hotel is GREAT! You can walk to just any place in the Old San Juan from the hotel and has great restaurants just a block or two away!

Area recommendations

The entire town of Old San Juan is a history lesson, great information and beautiful views - feels like you are almost taken back in time. Yet, there's adventure and modern stores to visit and shop just like home. You can definitely find a little bit of everything in Puerto Rico - San Juan area and near by towns.

“Expected better from a Sheraton”

Just returned from spending 3 nights at this hotel to attend a family wedding. We booked a room for 3 people (2 double beds) and we were told those rooms always come with a lousy view of a multi-story car park. And that's what we got. The room smelled of dampness although the a/c worked well. The refrigerator we had ordered a week before by phone was not in the room. Amazingly, there was no wifi in the hotel and the phone-hook up in the room didn't work, nor did one of the phone lines. A tech did finally come to the room but was unable to fix the problem. The second day we were there, we left the hotel for several hours in the morning but the room was never cleaned. At 4:45PM the room service people said that they got off at 5PM so the room wouldn't be cleaned until the following day. The next morning, after making several calls to the desk to get cleaning service right away, I managed to find a cleaner with a trolley in the hallway who finally cleaned the room. Also, the receptionist never mentioned that there was free internet in the lobby, despite our having explained, on two different occasions, that we were unable to hook up to the phone line with the laptop. The location of the hotel is excellent and ideally located for those just staying one night and boarding a cruise ship. I would not recommend this hotel for any extended period of time.

“Bed and Breakfast”

The bed was wonderful with newer type of bed linen.. Bathroom lacked exhaust fan, towel rack,and consistent water temperature. Our traveling companions actually had no hot water. The air conditioner smelled musty unless kept on a very cold setting. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and had a nice variety of food as well as omelets made to order. There was no view from our room with a black cloth in the window to block the light. If you just want a bed and breakfast this would be the place for you!

Area recommendations

We stayed in Old San Juan for the four days we were in Puerto Rico. The two forts were interesting. I would take advantage of guided fort tours to get the most out of the visit. The free trolley rides in the old city made getting around very easy. We also took a ferry across the bay and visited the Bacardi Distillery which was also informative. The ferry was $.50 with a short taxi ride once we crossed the bay. The shopping is great and ranges from sidewalk vendors, souvenir shops,as well upscale shops with outlet prices.

“Really enjoyed my stay at the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel”

All employees were friendly and helpful. The food in both Restaurants in the Hotel (Palio's and Chicago Burger) was plentiful and delicious. I appreciated the Hotel's effort to be "Green". Leaving a $5.00 voucher every night you declined new sheets, sink and tub scouring and trash removal.

Area recommendations

Historic Old San Juan is very pretty. Lots of Restaurants, Bars and Shopping. Make sure to tour the Bacardi Factory and visit El Yunque Rain Forest.
