“Beware”
I had an awesome time here. The hotel as a whole was great but our room was the issue. Towards the end me and my wife ended up with what I believe to be spider bites. The bite hurt a lot and it was so infected that when I called for the hotel doctor(cost me $150) she said it could have come from a bug bite, the jacuzzi, the beach or my skin had problems. Other then needing prescribed antibiotics that can't transfer to ny and a hole in my leg from the infected bite. Puerto Rico was excellent! Not to mention my wife ended up with a "rash" which was extremely similar to bed bug bites. No one would admit this but all the while they agreed to change our room. You decide....
“Over all a nice experience.”
The hotel in Puerto Rico is not the highest class of the Ritz Carlton's. First I will have to say. The SERVICE is EXCELLENT on all levels!! The rooms we had with an ocean view were very nice and comfortable. But Ocean view DOES NOT mean balcony. It just means you can sort of see the ocean. If you are below 8th floor the view will be trough the palm trees. The pool area and sunbeds on the beach are a bit worn. The stretch of beach in front of hotel has whitish sand that has been manually put there, which is nice as the public beach right next to the hotel has coarse yellow sand. The food in the restaurants is way to expensive for what is on your plate. This goes for the $16 nachos w a small PLASTIC container guacamole and the same salsa in pool bar. $18 for ONE glass of red wine in the bar etc. We stayed 6 adults for Thanksgiving buffet which was OK but nothing incredible. 6 adults and 2 glasses each sangria set us back $700. Compared to an incredible four course wine tasting dinner at Restaurant Marmelade in Old San Juan, The Buffet at the Ritz almost seemed like a "sham"..anyway. We had breakfast and light lunches at the hotel and had our remaining dinners in Old San Juan. We have stayed here before and will be back. But I recommend eating dinner in Old San Juan wich is only a $20 taxa ride away. The rooms have everything your need but at the end of the day it is the service from all the staff members who makes it worth while coming back.
“Very good hotel”
This is a very good hotel. It's location is near airport. It's beach and swimming pool is very beautiful.
“Great time, can't wait to go back”
Great staff, friendly bartendes, very helpfull with day trips a+++++
“The best in Puerto Rico”
The Ritz Carlton is the best! The staff is friendly. helpful and always make you feel welcome. The rooms have all the comforts of home-the pool and beach are beautiful-an exercise room-tennis courts-a spa and a casino are all available for your use-so much fun!! The location is good in that you can walk to some local restaurants. Also, a public market and drug store are within walking distance. The only disappointment we had was that the pool restaurant discontinued serving the wonderful Mediterranean Salad! We have stayed at this Ritz for five years now and plan to return again next year - it is an annual trip for us!
“Everything awesome!”
I would like thar my room have a view to the beach.
“Loved it!”
I loved the hotel! The staff were excellent. My only point of contention is that breakfast was not included so we had to go out to find it. We found a nice little place, Piu Bello. I felt that the prices for breakfast were a bit ridiculous at the hotel.
“good time”
Just a short ride from the airport and your are at the hotel. Some minimal plane noise was occasionally noticed in the room but no big deal at all. Hotel staff was very friendly and tried to be as helpful as possible. For Ritz Carlton standards I though they could have hit the mark a little better. We were on club level and the Concierge service dropped the ball several times. But I can't say enough about how gracious they were in trying to make up for it. Hotel room was a little worn with stains on carpet & drapes and the window leaked when it rained and made the floor wet. Pool and beach were fantastic, especially the staff and servers.
“Best hotel experience ever!!”
Everything was wonderful at the hotel. From when I arrived through the front doors to the service at the beach. I did not have to worry about anything at all. Anyone traveling should definitely considering paying the extra money to stay here. This has been the best hotel stay I have had ever and let me tell you that I've travel quite a bit.
“Do not eat!!!”
The Ritz Carlton is known for their customer service so as usual the service was great BUT the food in the entire hotel in San Juan, PR has gone so downhill that the only safe thing to eat was a peanut butter and jelly sandwich off the kid's menu. From a five star hotel rating stand point, it's not only shocking but unacceptable, especially with the sky high rates they charge. Change the chefs asap!!!!
