Had a Great StayPosted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The staff was great, and as mentioned above, very attentive to our every need. If we looked lost, or couldn't find something, staff was there to help
Cons: I think the hotel staff could pay more attention to where people were smoking. Hotel guests were smoking clearly within view of "No Smoking" signs.
Location: Be adventurous and go out of the hotel to eat sometimes. There are many places to go with different kinds of foods and price points.
This was our first time at the Ritz Carlton in San Juan and we were very pleased. From the time we arrived, to the time we departed, the staff was attentive and helpful. The pool area was well kept as well as the beach area. We ate off the "Bar Bites" menu at Il Mulino two nights during our stay and it was well worth it. Our room was quiet and overlooked the pool and the beach. Not once did we hear anyone in the hallway making noise.

Nice getawayPosted Jul 7, 2014
The hotel was beautiful, however we had the unfortunate experience of having a credit card stolen from our room. Then the steam room they advertise is only if you get a massage, all other resorts we have gone too you could use the steam room and jacuzzi regardless if you were having a massage, the staff is mediocre. It is not a bad hotel but definitely not near the best for the amount of money. Food is extremely over priced, but taste good. We enjoyed the Intercontinental hotel last year, much better.

Pros: Excellent service, and felt completely safe at all times.
Location and everything about the hotel was excellent. The concierge was incredibly helpful. I was not happy with the surprise of an additional $50.00 per night upon check in to have a room with two double beds. I had requested this room arrangement, and confirmed with the hotel before arrival.

IncrediblePosted Jul 5, 2014
Other than the over priced food at the restaurants, you can't ask for a better hotel. Staff, facilities, beach, you name it, it was world class. And the price was superb as well.

Meh.Posted Jul 4, 2014
Pros: Friendliness of staff.
Location: Not much to do but take in the beach, sand, and sun. A Walgreens is around the corner for snacks and beverages.
Service was pretty good, except if you want food or drinks around the pool; that was more of a challenge to get service. The hotel was nice but not 5 star nice. Older and needs some updating. Area around hotel is a bit "urban" as we were told by the concierge (a.k.a a little unsafe). The beach area is great, very clean, but far away from the Condado area of San Juan and also Old San Juan. You pretty much need a taxi if you want to take in any night life or good restaurants since the restaurants in the hotel are extremely expensive. I wouldn't stay here again now that I have been to San Juan. There are just as nice, if not nicer hotels that are less expensive in better areas of the island.

best vacationPosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: The ambience the service, the beach so close, the beauty and comfort of the hotel ,oh yes the showers were nice and powerful, and always nice and hot.
Cons: can't think of any improvements that needto be made
Location: lots of things to do great location.
My family had a great time, the girlswent jet skking, we went on a tour to the rain forrest, the tour gide was very informative and friendly and funny. The service was excellent. We lazed by the beach every day and enjoyed the food served in the bar and grill resturant on the beach. The resort exudes comfort and relaxaion, the palm trees blowing in the wind, and the smell of the sea made me intoxiated, just the right recepie for a vacation. The service was excellent, my daughter has food allergies and every effort was made to ensure that her food had no allergens. I deeply apperciated the effort, not many hotels show that much concern. I liked that everyone speaks fluent English although I had banked on brushing up on my Spanish. The staff is warm and friendly and really make you feel very welcomed, the rooms were kept immaculate by a very professional and friendly staff, and the food was delicious, the BLT steak resturant is really amazing, and I also loved the fact that there were some nice little resturantsin walking distance that we could taste some of the local food. The hotel is flawless, the service is outstanding, and best of all the people are warm, friendly and attentive. Me le gusta!

Very nice hotel, but could use improvementPosted Jun 28, 2014
Visited old city to look around and to dine. Found nice resturant recommended by hotel staff had nice dinner, met chef and owner Peter originally from Iowa. We had to park few blocks away and walk, need more protection from police, did not feel secure. We rent the car so we can visit old city and play golf, hotel charged $25 for parking every 24 hours, I don't know what's better, rent or take cab? Color of cab did not made sense, white with small lettering. @ few thoughts so everyone can benefit" :)
