DisappointingPosted Mar 3, 2014
Cons: breakfast, noise from the bar
Location - The hotel is located on the west end of Rincon and has nice Sunset view. it is located right on the beach, however, it is quite far from the really nice beaches of Rincon and the surfing spots. so... if you are a surfer, you'd be better off in Sandi beach or Maria beach area. Breakfast - very dull and very disappointing. not much variety, cereals are at extra charge! Room - extremely spacious, but get ready to freeze!!! there are no blankets, only sheets, and for some reason the house keeping have set our AC to 61 everyday. so by the time we came back to the room it was freezing. Bar - the hotel bar is very active and located right in the center of the hotel. it gets quite noisy at evening and night time, especially the karaoke which makes it very challenging to fall asleep.

Very private, quiet apartment style hotel.Posted Feb 27, 2014
This hotel was perfect for my family of 4 (2 teen boys). It had a full kitchen, large refrigerator and two separate bedrooms and the boys each had their own bed. It is in a locals part of town that looks run down. However, the hotel was well kept. Juan the person on staff was very friendly and helpful when he was there. It was perfect to be right on the boardwalk and beach. The pool was a bit dirty though. Most times it felt as if we were at our own villa. We did not see many people. We were able to park our car in the garage which was nice. This place is not for everyone especially if you are an expectant American with American standards. It was interesting to see how locals live.

We like every aspect of this place. Gorgeous sunsets. Spacious rooms. Capable & friendly staff. Good food. No casino. Have been coming here for past 40 years.

Amazing beach, amazing staff, crummy roomPosted Feb 18, 2014
Pros: Staff, fun vibe at night (very festive!), the coconut drinks (I had one every day!) the pretty beach.
Cons: Clean the hotel room, repaint, better pillows.
Location: Rincon is full of great places to eat. I had dinner at the Lazy Parrot (tres leches cake!!!) and Ode to the Elephants.
I stayed for 4 nights and had a blast in the warm weather. The staff is amazing and responsive. I shot a wedding that took place here in addition to being a guest for four nights, and they were very helpful in answering my questions. They also had great recommendations for places to eat, a place for the bride to get her hair done, and made a pretty wedding cake. The bar staff was fun and joked around with everyone. They seemed to really like their jobs. The guests were a mix of locals and visitors. The bad: the closet smelled like someone mistook it for a urinal. It was loud at night - I liked this, actually, but it could be problematic. The food was terrible and service was slow. You'd do well to eat elsewhere every night. The beach umbrellas were often broken. The pillows were uncomfortable. My hotel room was very dark and dim, which was the worst part.

Must return soonPosted Feb 8, 2014
It was our first time visiting Puerto Rico and we loved it! It's heaven for surfing, snorkeling, fishing and sun tanners. The hotel has a fun night time environment with music and drinks by the ocean and pool. Beach rentals and awesome pirate drink specials. The staff is so cool and friendly. Our housekeeper left us a fruit basket and cute notes regarding activities. The food at la Cambia is to die for. We can't wait to come back! Oh and free breakfast every day!

Decent hotel if you don't mind the noisePosted Feb 7, 2014
If you want to stay someplace with an outdoor bar that plays really loud music from 11am-midnight, this is for you. For a day or two, this can be kind of fun, but beyond that it just got on my nerves. They play music so loud that there is literally no quiet area in the hotel grounds anywhere. I stayed in a third floor room that wasn't right next to the bar, hoping that I wouldn't be bothered by it, but even there I was still able to hear the music. I couldn't imagine if you got a second floor room right next to the bar. That said, the staff is very friendly and tries to be helpful. But in some cases that just doesn't help. For example, I only got hot water in the shower about half the time I used it. The staff tried to resolve it, but without success. The hotel is kind of run down and I don't think fixing the water heater is a priority.

Magical sunsets!Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: The location, the beach, the Hotel staff, super friendly, there to help and make you enjoy your stay to the fullest. Very safe. Family friendly.
Cons: The rooms need some uplifting. a bit rundown. Because of the Xmas season celebrations, I found it a bit too loud at night. After midnight, great sleep
Location: Great location. super beach. Great choice of water sport offerings. Excellent restaurant within the hotel. A great variety of restaurants in the area.
We enjoyed our three nights at Villa Cofresi. We would definetely stay there again.
