Nice Hotel in the heart of Pv close to beach.Posted Jul 11, 2014
Location: Restaurants, Playa Los Muertos
It was a wonderful stay with a comfortable room, good view, even with the construction, and my room has bathroom door, was very concerned with this detail. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Sometimes we like the morning coffee on the balcony. Free Wifi in the lobby, at other hotels have gained me the wifi, and are planning to install in rooms with extra cost. From the pictures I could see that they have changed the garden. Very comfortable beds, new sheets and towels. I wonder how they have improved a lot. The stairs was not a problem.

Older Hotel Next to a Construction SitePosted Mar 24, 2014
Pros: Quaint old hotel. It would have good views down to the ocean if there weren't new condo buildings in front of it.
Cons: Almost everything.
Location: Climb lots of stairs and wear ear plugs.
The hotel itself was charming but had two huge drawbacks. The first was that it was not close to the beach but was up a series of stairs that made it inconvenient to reach. The second huge drawback was that it was right next to a construction site where work commenced at eight each morning and ran to eight at night on weekdays. There was absolutely nothing restful about this hotel.

Quaint and cozy, home style friendlinessPosted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: home friendliness
Cons: add a small functional kitchen off the front desk with stove top/oven to prepare fresh seafood
Location: on the perimeter of the Romantica Zone, with bars, retaurants, ATM,s, and of the beaches including the Malecon
very much enjoyed, close to most amenities, totally gay friendly

Location was close enough to the beach to walk.Posted Mar 4, 2014
Pros: Clean and good location. Adults only. Beautiful view from the roof, and quiet.
Cons: The bar by the pool was a bit pricey, but nice staff. It would be nice to have a small cooler provided in the room, and ice available.
Location: Within two blocks you are at stores and restaurants, and at the beach :)
Staff was very accommodating to our requests and needs, and spoke English.

Not one of the better choice in PVPosted Mar 3, 2014
Cons: Fix shower heads, provide cleaner linens and towels, rates are overpriced, maids should stop chatting so loud in the hallways.
Dirty, dingy, shower was gross, staff was less than friendly. I have been visiting PV for 30 years, there are many better options, for much more reasonable prices.

Great Find.......Posted Feb 28, 2014
Pros: The location, near everything.
Cons: Really nothing at the price.
Location: As mentioned above what I liked most about the Amaca is the location. Restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, beaches.
Excellent location, clean, friendly staff. Very affordable. While there is construction nearby I didn't find the sounds annoying. Off-street the hotel is accessible by stairs only. After the first couple of trips, not much of an inconvenience.

Nice HotelPosted Feb 25, 2014
This is a nice hotel only a short walk to the beach and minutes from fantastic restaurants and bars! There is a construction right next door which makes for early rises (they start at 8am). But there's construction everywhere. You get used to the noise to some point but the workers themselves are loud and annoying! There are about 100 stairs leading to the hotel, which can be an issue for persons with limited mobility. But it's a good way to work off some of those margaritas! The hotel staff are friendly. I found housekeeping a little hit or miss. Most days we didn't get a facecloth, just a hand towel. The rooms could use some fresh paint and new shower heads. Maybe drawers for those who like to completely unpack, and mini fridges would be great in all rooms. The rooftop bar and pool are nice and offer a spectacular sunset view! Remy, the bartender, does an excellent job! The music, although not my type, is not too loud. Wifi is only available in the lobby. It would be nice is it were available on the rooftop. All in all, the room was clean and safe, and when it boils down to it, that's all that matters!

Honey moon stayPosted Feb 23, 2014
We stayed here because they had a sweet deal and our budget was a bit short. The location is nice but the room was not very clean, some things were rusty and others broken. The best part of staying here was the staff, they were super friendly and helpful and the view from the top floor is awesome but I don't think I would stay here again.

Style, Clean/Spacious Rooms, and Friendly StaffPosted Feb 22, 2014
Pros: Clean and spacious rooms with large beds. Nice balconies with hammocks.
Location: The "gay" beach, restaurants, bars/discos are all within a 5-10 min walk.
My recent stay at Hotel Amaca was a pleasure. This adults-only, boutique hotel, in the heart of the Zona Romantica, is a perfect location for the beach, restaurants, bars, and the downtown, commercial area. Upon arrival, the staff were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. The rooms were clean and spacious with a large bed and a beautiful balcony that has a relaxing hammock. You can go for a drip or cocktail on their rooftop, which has a spectacular view of the Bay of Banderas. Puerto Vallarta is growing and construction is popping up everywhere, including near the hotel. The construction is temporary and shouldn't be a deterrent to visiting a great hotel. Would I go back to Hotel Amaca? ABSOLUTELY. And I would recommend that you experience the beauty of Puerto Vallarta with your stay at Hotel Amaca.
