Pros: the service was amazing.. all the servers or bartenders were very welcoming and fun to talk to.
Cons: The food. I was really hoping for authentic Mexican food and we were served resort food everyday .. no flavor and very boring
Location: The location was beautiful .. basically have a private little beach for just this hotel ! They have kayaking paddle boarding and snorkeling too (:
We had an awesome time in Puerto Vallarta. Barceló was a beautiful hotel and the service was excellent. There were many activities to engage in and the hotel was very helpful with setting them up. Barceló is a wonderful place just to relax and enjoy your vacation!

Check-In/Check-OutPosted Nov 19, 2014
Pros: Beach, wait staff, food selection.
Cons: As per above
Location: We did not leave the property. We were only there 4 nights and found no need to leave the hotel grounds.
The counter staff were slow and less cooperative than I would have expected. we arrived by ourselves (2) and it took much too long to get checked in. I reserved 4 nights and they confirmed only 3 nights. They said they were sold out for the Friday night. I managed to get them to extend the stay, but that should not have been necessary. Once we got ot the room, everything was very good and the staff was excellent in the rooms, restaurant and bars. When checking out, they wanted the room at noon and we were told we could stay in the hotel and retain our wristbands until we left for the airport. The man at the desk refused that courtesy and wanted our wristbands back at 2:00 pm. t took a request to speak to his manager to get that resolved. This was too stressful and I was glad I did not arrive on a bus with 50 other guests. We might still be checking in.

Beautiful hotel close to both the jungle and beachPosted Nov 17, 2014
From the moment we stepped into the resort we had a wonderful time. my boyfriend and myself were taking our first vacation alone and couldn't have chosen a more beautiful resort to go to. We spent our meals right by the window looking out on the ocean and our days by the pool being served drinks right to where we were sitting. The ultimate in relaxation. All of the Al a cartes were good, however, we enjoyed the Spanish one the most, Don Quijotos. The entire resort is built around a jungle theme so there is a ton of vegetation. The main pool has a wonderful fountain in the middle made to look like a waterfall. The iguanas loved to hang out there and would even come down to eat flowers right out of your hands. Our room was also great. Spacious and with a view of both the ocean and the pools although we didn't even upgrade to the premium. The premium suite was right next to ours and I would have loved to spend time in it. Might even upgrade next time we go. If you want a relaxing experience with wonderful staff in a beautiful resort choose the Barcelo.

Beautiful, secluded location!Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: This resort was located between 2 mountains and was the perfect setting. One of the most beautiful views I have ever had from any hotel room!!
Cons: Nicer hotel staff.
Location: The secluded beach offers a lot! You can snorkel or walk down the beach to a few huts that sell authentic drinks, food, souvenirs, and massages!
Overall a wonderful, relaxing vacation! I would recommend to my friends. The location made the resort so romantic and secluded. The food was actually really good and tasteful! I enjoyed trying the different restaurants each night. It really is a great price for what all you get!

Great valuePosted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Great views, good setting, happy and helpful staff.
Cons: Front lobby staff were abrupt if not rude. Food is slightly quantity over quality but acceptable.
Location: Great location in a cove with "Jungle" setting creating beauty and privacy. Good Beach with local massages. Easy to get downtown.
Wonderful facility with great pools and a stretch of Beach. Cove like setting with tropical views. Private and safe but only 20 minutes from town if needed.
