“Christmas Holiday”

We upgraded to the Premium Club. The service was a little sketchy, for example, there's only one concierge so at times the line would back up a bit for service. The nice thing is you can avail yourself of premium adult refreshments while you wait. The entire staff is professional and extremely kind. You don't have to tip, but it's a nice thing to do for the waiters and maids. The hotel beach is small, so most people swim in the hotel pools. Those are beautiful and well maintained. But guests will claim a beach lounger early in the day by throwing a towel on it and thus, they're not available to use, even if the lounge-hog never returns. That was frustrating. There are 3 restaurants, but our favorite was The Capri; romantic, quiet, and excellent. Take the free city tour. It's so worth spending a day doing that. But beware, your lunch will run about $20 USD per person. Beto, our guide that day was funny and knowledgeable. A fun way to spend the day. We also took a Marietas Eco Tour to see whales, dolphins and to snorkel. We had massive whale sightings. A cab will run about 180 pesos one way (this hotel is far south on the beach) to the city. There is, however, a bus stop across the street from the resort. We didn't visit the zoo, although we walked up the hill to it. The admission is $50 USD per person. That seemed a bit steep. On the other hand, we had an amazing couple's massage at the resort spa (20% discount for Premium Club members). We will absolutely be back!

“Love This Place”

This was our second visit to this resort--having also visited in the spring of 2008-- and we were slightly wistful that a few delightful offerings of the all-inclusive program seemed altered by the inevitable economic crunch. Still, we would return in a heartbeat to this resort's glorious setting, and the extremely sweet and accommodating staff. We particularly appreciated how remarkably organized was the transportation to and from the airport! Kudos Gray Line!

“Great hotel, food was only ok...”

The Hotel was beautiful. It was a great place to vacation. The food was ok, but the drinks were good! The only thing we would've changed is in regards to our specialty restaurant tickets (we were allowed 3 dinners based on the length of our stay). We were told that you needed reservations and as long as you came by 2 pm, you should get it. Well, then we found out only certain restaurants were open certain days of the week and they filled up so fast we only got to eat at 2 of the restaurants, instead of all three. Our favorite place to eat was the snack bar (they had a full menu and drinks).

“Restfull, peaceful,nice food,view,Graea vacation!!”

I recommend this hotel in all ways. It is great for families and couples who have no problem having children around. It is verey clean and neat. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Food and beverages are very good in all different restaurants and bars. Pool in nice and the beach area eventough is small, is clean and the view is amazing. Is is only 4 miles away from Puerto Vallarta down town, close and far enough. If you are planning to have a good time and a great value for your money, this is a good hotel to visit.

“Great place, great time. Something for everyone.”

Great for couples or families. Really loved this place. I had a Junior Oceanview Suite with the optional Premier package which gives you free wifi, free kayak/canoe use, priority reservations at the restaurants, free use of the Premier lounge with internet/printer (and a self-serve bar) and even gives you your own check in/out counter so you can skip the lines. The restaurants were good but I kept going back to the buffet for the amazing variety of food and the great ocean view. The only minor issue I found was that the wifi coverage was spotty, but I didn't really need it.

“SOS”

The hotel was nice but they have a bunch of things that sucks for example they only give you one towel and you have to return in or you pay 49$ also if you loose any of the hotel Room cards they. Charge you 20$ that is ridiculous also you can't take the food out even if it a snack bar and also the buffet for breakfast is horrible the rest is all good though but the hotel service is all right I do recommend this hotel if you would not eat anything the whole day

“Great Place to Stay!”

The hotel and location was excellent, the only negative was the front desk personnel was not too friendly and more information about "inclusive" would have been appreciated. Since there was an election in Mesico, no liquor was allowed to be served for two of the five days, we were there, an adjustment to our rate should have been made

“First Choice for future trip to Puerto Vallarta”

This hotel was wonderfully clean and luxurious and the service was exceptional. The only downside was because the A La Carte Restaurants were small, it was difficult to get reservations unless you planned a day in advance, however all the restaurants were good. The rooms were spacious and luxurious and the cleaning staff did a wonderful job. I would definitely come back and would consider Barcelo Hotels at their other vacation spots
