Great beach location in Old PV.

Posted Mar 24, 2015
Pros: Best location on the beach and in the Old Town. Get an ocean view room.
Cons: Rooms are being updated and are comfortable.
Location: All of the beach active and people come to this location on the beach.
Great spot to start your gay vacation on the beach. Ocean view rooms are worth it. Friendly staff; I will return to see my friends and make new ones.

Fallen Angel

Fourth time staying there, and first time in six years. Simply awful. My room no hot water and pungent with mold and mildew. Another friend's room had door that would not lock. Another friend's room had no AC. Staff acts surprised when you notify them of the stream of problems. Used to be a fun place but now totally trashy.

None Professional BELOW AVERAGE Resort

Posted Mar 6, 2015
Pros: The view of the beach after we paid extra cash to the hotel manager.
Cons: They need to renovate the hotel completely. They need to hire professional staff.
Location: If you are looking to get to the beach it is a good location. To do anything else like dine, wine, dance or shop you need to do lots of walking
We booked the hotel with an upgrade to have FULL OCEAN view, when we arrived we were presented by two choices: A tiny room with a half view of the Ocean or a Room with a none functioning toilet and a view fully abstracted by an incomplete building. After complaining and despite being told the hotel is Sold Out, we were presented a Junior suite only if we pay EXTRA $$$ in CASH only. The new space was acceptable despite that the TV did not work, the coffee machine did not have coffee, the balcony window has no lock, and we had to pay for the ice. (Many things in the suite were broken showing the little maintenance and investment in the blue chairs resort. Our breakfast every day came missing something... or took too long to get served. Cleanliness is not the forte of the restaurant. The worst thing happened when we were presented with 3 bills that we already paid . ---- BEWARE ---- when you are presented by a bill if you are asked to sign it . ---- ALWAYS ---- ask to get that bill back after you pay it, because if they keep, they will recycle and ask you to repay it.

Our room needed some work

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: Convenience to Old Town bars and restaurants
Cons: It seemed like some areas were starting to fall into disrepair.
Sadly there was no hot water, and several of the lights would not work. That said the staff were very accommodating and it was a pleasure to visit with other hotel guests and mingle with others on the rooftop bar.

Loved the view from the dumpy hotel

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: Nice location and staff
Cons: Provide hot water (or any water for that matter). Clean up the rooms
Location: On the beach and lots of clubs and restaurants
Great location for the beach and fantastic view with great staff but the hotel is a dump. We go to PV at least once a year and realize that hotels in the romantic zone are not going to be 5 star but they should at least provide basics. We didn't even have water one day and we were lucky - several of the hotel guest stated they didn't have any for days or no hot water every day. The hotel has been under construction for years. Dark hallways - can't even see to get your key in the door lock. The lights are on timers and only come on for periods during the night. No pillow cases so we called down and they sent up standard cases for king pillows - said that is what they had. We went to Walmart the next day so we wouldn't have to sleep on the stained pillows. The list goes on and on. There are plenty of hotels that cost the same or less and provide a much better experience - we will never stay at Blue "Dumpy" Chairs again

Worst hotel in Puerto Vallarta

Posted Feb 25, 2015
Pros: All of it.
Cons: Stay in another hotel
We booked a junior suite during our stay 2/19 - 2/25. Our suite wasn't available for 2 days, during which we stayed in a small room for 1 night, then another suite that was under construction for the second night. That suite had no hot water, no curtains (getting up at 5AM), poor housekeeping, no phone, no TV.... and the list goes on. Don't stay there. It's really not worth it.

Great location, horrible hotel

Posted Feb 16, 2015
This hotel has a great location and extremely helpful and friendly staff. That said, my room was absolutely disgusting, it smelled of sewage, was dirty, there was garbage still in one of the drawers. I found a centipede crawling on the floor one morning. For the first 3/10 days there was absolutely no hot water. My room felt damp all the time. It was absolutely horrible conditions. And under no circumstances should you ever get a room with a partial ocean view, it was a back alley... That's all. However the staff were very friendly and attentive, and very enjoyable to talk to. It was the one positive thing to come out of this hotel.

Blue Chairs

Posted Feb 8, 2015
Pros: Location to beach, friendly staff but a bit indifferent at the desk.
Cons: Clean up construction debris in public areas. Remove construction materials from occupied rooms and balconies, as requested.
Once a Grand Dame on the Beach, now a dowager undergoing constant repair. The sound of construction will greet your morning starting about 8 am and go on throughout the day until 7 pm or so. For those on a budget who plan a day at the beach, this may be less of problem than for more affluent travelers who want a turnkey dated experience. Friends staying at condos above blue chairs also complained of the construction noise during the day. I had an Expedia reservation, including breakfast, but found out that eggs would be extra. The quibble over a few pesos seemed unnecessary for scrambled eggs. More professional management could timely complete the construction which has been ongoing for several years. A worker left a large bucket of paint on my balcony. I informed the hotel desk, but it remained there for two more days through my departure on Saturday. The staff is friendly, but note there are aggressive timeshare and tour group barkers located just down the street. The big pro is the convenience to the beach. If you plan a late night out, bring earplugs.
