2nd time to Puerto VallartaPosted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: The Buenaventura certainly met our needs. We are not big eaters, yet the food choices were quite good, and you could eat at unordinary times.
Cons: The wi fi was very uncertain for most guests, people would wander the property to find the connection. And sometimes it would not connect at all.
Location: Fifteen minutes from the airport, ten blocks walk to the malecon, thirty blocks to the romantica zone(the south area) of downtown.
We wanted to stay closer to the Malecon. (shops and restuarants) The Buenaventura proved great for our needs, as there were other family members in the south hotel zone, and we enjoyed the long walks to visit.

Great location!!!Posted Mar 7, 2014
Great staff!!! Always amazing...only downside was that the adult leisure pool has a paint that stained our swimsuits ...the hotel/ front desk made sure that our swimsuits were sent out for cleaning ...thank you Buenaventura! !

**EXCELLENT LOCATION, GREAT FOOD, FRIENDLY STAFF**Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: The location; Short walk to the Malecon (boardwalk) and 60 pesos ($5) to Zona Romantico (Old Vallarta) with all of its character. Friendly.
Cons: The rooms could do with a face lift but I still think the value is good for the price. Internet access was a little unreliable but this is Mexico!
Location: There was usually room by the pool or on the beach and they make a very good effort with the entertainment in the evenings although we didn't join.
The Buenaventura far exceeded my expectations and I would recommend it to anyone. I recently stayed with our infant daughter, husband, my parents, brother and sister + partners (9 of us in total). We were so pleased with the scale of the hotel, very walkable. Loungers and pool room always available. The food was excellent for Mexico and the star rating of this hotel. I have to laugh out loud at any bad reviews regarding the food; you must remember you are in another country and No, there isn't heinz ketchup and kraft products but they have done REALLY well with the variety and quality of food on offer at The Buenaventura. There was always a great selection of foods at the buffet and the A la Carte experiences were exceptional. They made international dishes well and mexican dishes were delicious too. I had some of the best hash browns of my life here. If you aren't an exceptionally picky eater you will be very pleased with the food at the Buenaventura. The rooms weren't great but they fit the bill. The south tower is certainly nicer but its serviceable and none comes to a resort like this to hang out in the room anyway. The showers had good water pressure. The a/c was reasonable, did quit on us once but it was DARN hot while we were there and the maintenance guy fixed it straight away. The staff were exceptional; again, any bad reviews regarding the staff/service must be from people who do not tip. All inclusive does not mean no tip required!!!

Great location for downtown stayPosted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, very quiet during the night and easy layout
Cons: Lack of locks for safety boxes in the rooms and better access to computer terminals for those who don't have personal computer with them.
Location: Great location for us as we like walking and sightseeing on our own.
This was our third stay at this hotel. We like the location because we like walking around and visiting the sites. There is also easy access to buses for further sightseeing. We spent an great two weeks in the beautiful warm sunshine in a very friendly and welcoming atmosphere. We found Puerto Vallarta to be a friendly town with minor annoyances from time share agents. The sights are incredible, especially up the mountains.

SatisfactoryPosted Feb 25, 2014
Pros: Smaller complex, no lineups.
Cons: Better white wine at the bars and restaurants. More louge chairs and umbrellas on beach.
Location: good location, central.
Good, relaxing resort, nice pools, beach. Buffet food was okay, more variation would be better. Rooms were clean every day.

Relaxed resort - Great LocationPosted Feb 23, 2014
Nine friends and I came for a university graduation trip, and although the resort had a mostly older crowd it was a 10-15 minute walk from all the wildest bars and parties. Drinks were great and staff was extremely friendly. Buffet was repetitive but had some new good surprises throughout the week like the BBQ ribs. Dining in the restaurants was very tasty and rich, long process but very good service throughout. Great ocean view room and the rooms right by the pool were the best. Overall we all had fun, well fed and well drank and relaxed.

All inclusive close to Old Town and beachPosted Feb 20, 2014
Pros: Location, scenery, convvenience
Cons: The wine selections at the bars were very poor. We would have liked to have a better selection as we are wine drinkers
Location: Excellent. Many things to see and do nearby.
This was our first stay in an all-inclusive resort. It was recommended by friends who stay frequently. We enjoyed the experience and found it very relaxing. We were very close to the Malecon and Old Town Puerta Vallarta. The hotel was very convenient. The staff were wonderful.

A pleasant 5 day stayPosted Feb 19, 2014
Pros: The staff are very friendly and after just one day they know what you like. Our waiter Joe was great for both breakfast and lunch.
Cons: The saving of chairs should be stopped. The wine should be improved
Location: It was a great location. A ten minute walk to downtown and a $10 cab ride to the airport
We booked two deluxe ocean view select rooms because on the room information it stated with balcony. When we arrived at the hotel they advised us that was not the case and it was only if available and of course we didn't get a balcony. I checked the web site today and it has been corrected. The one thing I found very annoying was the saving of beach and pool chairs. The hotel has a no saving rule but it is totally disregarded and not enforced. Guests are putting their hats and towels on chairs before they go to breakfast. We got the select aii inclusive plan that was premium food and drinks. We only drink wine and beer and we were only ever offered Mexican beer and wine. I don't think it was worth the extra money when you didn't get a balcony.
