“Very nice hotel!”
Very comfortable and Enjoyable stay. Good food!
“Losing Charm”
We have been traveling to Canto for 5 years now. We have always enjoyed our stay, which are usually one to two weeks. In the past I would rate them on a 1 to 5 scale generally a solid 4. Until this year (Nov 15-25) we arrive and there are kids everywhere, apparently some type of soccer tourney was going on. These kids were rude, loud in the halls where the rooms were, not to mention the shoving and pushing in line at the buffet. The buffet was not up to par as it had been in the past. Special events were not clearly posted so that we would know when the buffet restaurant was going to be moved and who was allowed to attend. As we paid for all inclusive we were surprised when they had an event and were not advised if it was part of the all inclusive or not. My husband and I will not likely stay at Canto next year due to this type of booking and the lack of information that was forthcoming on events. We felt we had to eat several meals outside of the resort as we could not get information from the waiters or the front desk. As we were leaving another group of youngsters were checking in. I would now give Canto a sliding 3 on the scale.
“Will not return to this hotel.”
The hotel in general was just ok. You get what you pay for and I went to Mexico alone this time and was attracted by the "caters to singles" and "security guard" ads. I was very disappointed by the beer selection. When I say selection, I mean light or dark NASTY beer. Also, what all inclusive hotel does not serve guacamole at ALL meals. Apparently this one!!! The staff was nice and as helpful as could be, bu I will not go back to this hotel.
“value for the money”
Most employees greeted you nicely. The drink and buffet was okay, bad thing is that the bar closed at 12 a.m. If you want to be close to town, stay in the hotel zone. Its 15 to 20 dlls us one way from nuevo vallarta to downtown. If you want to invite someone up to your room who is not a hotel guest, it'll cost you about 50 US
“Nice family resort”
Lots of family activities, nice pool. The staff is so kind and friendly; US hotels could learn from them. The beach is small, but they keep it clean. Gym has ancient equipment, but we took long walks on the beach, so who cares! We were a bit worried about buffets, we had no reason to. Food was great, especially breakfast. My daughter lost her cellphone on our first day there, everyone was very helpful, making calls to the taxi company &, airlines for her.
“We plan a definate return...”
Our stay at Canto del Sol was one of the best we have experienced in Mexico. We have stayed at several resorts in Mexico over the past ten years and this hotel was by far our favorite. The hotel staff were organized and very helpful. Canto is on the smaller side and that made it perfect! Less crowded and convienent access to the pool and the beach made our stay comfortable. My husband and I had an amzaing time and we have no doubt that we will return with the kids. The food was delicious! The rooms were average. But who wants to spend time in their room anyway when you are in Mexico! The ONLY downfall??? ... sales people working on convincing you to invest in timeshares. But dealing with sales is a very small price to pay to stay at a great resort! Whether you are single, married or married with kids this resort is one size fits all!
“70”
Size of the hotel is great. Service and friendliness of staff is very good. Cleanliness of hotel room ok - maids did a very quick job everyday and the floor was always dirty. Food selection was ok - wish there would have been a little more selection. The location of the hotel is nice.
“I will never go back to this hotel!!!”
Very bad neigborhood. Old building. Limited atention at the front desk. Ugly rooms, very small, old, and cheap. Cable signal was bad. No internet connection 1 swimming pool. Not to big. And full of peaple, many kids If you dont care about people eating in the pool, and a crew playing with a very loud microphone, and no place for relaxation:Go there!! No beach at all. Few chairs, no sand. Ugly water. Free kayaks if you pay all inclusive: if you ever get to see the guy that take care of this you can use them. 1 buffet restaurant with a "variety of food"The same food every day Gym :)VEry old if cardio is your thing no way, no even a single treadmill. Only two computers at "bussiness center" that only had 2 chairs, not even a desk And the worst experience+time share."During breakfast" they said that was how long it was going to last, but what a lie, we spent the entire morning listening to this person, and when we decided not to accept the offer, They became upset at us, and did not want us to leave the room. They called the manager, and this person was even more disrespectful.Dont recommend this hotel at all!!
“Smaller Resort”
This resort was much smaller that we are used to staying at. There was only one buffet, and depending on how many night you stay three restaraunts to choose from. The shows were nice, but the activities staff was not very entertaining. The location however is close to everything. If you want to go to a comfy, relaxing resort this is your place. If you want a little more than pool/beach time I would suggest a larger resort.
“Very Satisified..... Miss it already!!!”
Just got back on 2/18 from a 7 night stay at the Canto Del Sol Plaza, very nice stay for the money. The hotel is smaller than ones we have stayed at in past years, which made everything very convenient. All employees made every attempt to server and help make the stay pleasant. Food was good, not really a lot of choices, but you NEVER were hungry. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.
