“Great location”
We had a reservation for Casa Dona Susana but when we went to check in the front desk person told us we could have a room across the street in the Playa Los Arcos if we wanted. Since it was beach front and was where the restaurant and bar were located , we took the other room. We loved the location of the hotel(s) since they were right in the middle of the old town. We used the rooftop pool at Casa Dona Susana three times and loved the serenity and view that it offered. The beach at the Playa Los Arcos was excellent except for the many vendors, but they are on every beach and you get used to them. The food at the restaurant was pretty good, especially breakfast with the made to order omelets. Since the price of the all-inclusive was so cheap, we were able to go out to eat and drink whenever we felt the urge and not feel like we were wasting money. I would recommend both the Playa Los Arcos and Casa Dona Susana to anyone who wants to experience the real city of Puerto Vallarta. If you want a huge resort where you never leave the grounds, then this may not be for you. But if you want to be right in the middle of everything at a very good price, then you will love these hotels.
“Nice Hotel in Puerto Vallarta”
The hotel was almost exactly as previous reviews stated... very quaint and relaxed. The room was adequate. The service was good. The pool was the best part of the hotel.
“"Puerto Vallarta's Best!"”
I really enjoyed my stay at Casa Dona Susana. The hotel has friendly staff. The hotel was comfortable and clean. The restaurant included with the all inclusive package "Mi Pueblito" was fantastic, food was great and so was the waiting staff. This was my third stay here at Casa Dona Susana. Casa Dona Susana is close to the Malecon, stores and the night life, I cant wait to go back in February and looking forward to staying at Casa Dona Susana! I'm loving it here and will continue to return to Casa Dona Susana.
“True Mexican charm”
This hotel is in the best location for taking in a real Mexican vacation. If you like luxury this isn't it. We loved it. It was clean and quiet. The staff wAs very helpful and the beach very close by with towels chairs and waiters available always. The price was right and all our needs were fulfilled. I would definitely recommend it for anyone watching their budget. The only thing I didn't like was the constant harassement by people trying to sell stuff on the beach. I know they need to make a living too but when they are in your face all the time I won't buy it even if they have exactly what I want. This is not the hotel, but the area. Overall I would go back and stay in this hotel.
“Nice Place, but you can't bring friends”
I loved the location most of all. Right around the corner from great bars and a block away from the beach. The room was great with a balcony and a large window/wall with an iron frame. I loved the painted brick and old wooden doors, because when I woke up I KNEW I was in Mexico. Great hotel, friendly staff. The only problem was that you weren't allowed to have guests over. Not even a family of Canadians (long story). Because of that I won't be staying here next year. If I'm paying for the room, I should be allowed to have friends over. But if this doesn't matter to you, then stay at this hotel, you will be glad you did.
“Staff was great but ?”
The Staff was great and so was the location. although, I do have 2 conplaints. the first was the Television was old and blury. I did not spend that much time watching TV but it's always nice to have the option. and this was unwatchable. the second problem is the the local bar down the street has a live band that play until 10 pm every night. My room was on the north side of the hotel so I could hear every note. they were pretty good, but not Ideal for early bed time for a early day the next morning. the staff was great, very helpful. my room was cleaned and comfortable at a nice price.
“Very nice stay”
I had no worries at this hotel. Everything was great. My TV went on the blink one day and it was replaced in 5 minutes. I didn't even have to go to the front desk , I just mentioned it to one of the cleaning staff in the hallway and it was done.
“Will Return”
The upgrade didnt have a fridge and a veerry small bathroom, and the room was smaller than the casa dona sussana as later in the week i checked out the rooms.Hotel is in perfect location,to restaurants, beach, melecon etc.We hadnt stayed in that area before even though we have been to P V about 15 times. This is our favorite vacation spot ,the food ,the people everything is excellant when you go toP V
“Great Old Town experience & location.”
Second stay at Casa Dona Susana (off beach)/Los Arcos (on beach) on my third trip to PV. This is the real old town Mexican experience and location. Busy streets & beach, loud, hundreds of shops & restaurants. Easy walk to Malicon. Price is right. Hotel is not new, but clean. Service is good. Older age vacationers.
“Great location/good value”
A great location without paying the $$$ for a beach front motel, only one block off the beach front. We were within walking distance of several excellent restaurants (Archie's Wok, Cafe de Olla, Roma Pizza ), the main flea market on the North side of the canal, and we could check out towels at Los Arco across the street for the beach. An absolutely great place for people watching. Plus you have the option of going to the roof top pool and avoiding all the vendors. The room was a bit crowded and dark, without a coffee maker. However, we spent minimal time in the room.
