Great beachfront hotelPosted Jun 28, 2015
Pros: Great service, clean, beautiful location.
Cons: Food was ok at times. The Oceana had great seafood choices. The buffet foods were not ideal.
Location: A lot of great activities nearby
Had a great time... Great service, wonderful pools and a beautiful ocean front view

Nice pools and specialty restaurants.Posted May 11, 2015
Pros: Good specialty restaurants, especially the Oceana. Big clean pools and lots of places to sun-bathe.
Cons: The World Cafe (buffet restaurant), food presentation, quality, and service all need improvement.
Comparing with the Dreams PV hotel that was sold to Hyatt recently, this hotel has much shorter beach front but with better and bigger pools. Restaurants are similar but the service and food at the World Cafe (buffet restaurant) is not as good and also pretty inconsistent. Rooms and other services are about the same. You need to bring lots of $1 bills if you plan to tip with US dollars. Clerks at the counter sometime not willing to break US $20 bills to changes. Free WiFi will only work about 5 to 10 min, if you can connect to it, before you need to reset, Overall quality is still very good, I like the Oceana restaurant, Other specialty restaurants are very nice, too.

Dreams is a fabulous place to stay.Posted May 10, 2015
Pros: Noted in about our experience.
Cons: The only thing we could suggest is to have some small venue for musical entertainment such as a 3-piece combo with evening music.
Location: We now just stay at the hotel. In the earlier years, we have done the extra ventures and activities.
This is our third time staying at Dreams Villamagna, and it was still great. The staff are very accommodating, helpful, gracious. We have been at a different all-inclusive in the past that was bigger, more people; we like the smaller environment. The food in all of the restaurants is delicious and superb presentation. We will continue to go to Dreams for our next PV trip.

Below expectations, particularly foodPosted May 9, 2015
Pros: The kids club was very useful. The pools were good. The room was spacious and reasonably clean.
Cons: Facilities, staff, and particularly food and drinks were well below expectations.
I booked this hotel for a 4 nights stay and it was a mistake. The hotel building showed signs of wear everywhere. One of the two elevators was frequently broken which caused long lines. The room was spacious as expected and reasonably clean, can't complain. The mattress was cheapest of the cheap. The food selection was barely acceptable. The sushi bar on the top floor served the worst sashimi I've ever seen. I made a mistake of ordering a burger once. They managed to make it worse than my worst expectations. Instead of a meat patty it had some sort of pressed brown thing, kind of cheap sausage. I'm not even sure it had any meat in it. The drinks were outright poor. Mojitos were made with artificial sweetener and had nearly zero alcohol content. The concoction they called "juice" was anything but juice. Hotel staff aggressively tried to get us to attend "breakfast" where they wanted to sell us some kind of a real estate deal.

Felt like royalty.Posted Apr 26, 2015
Pros: The views, the staff, being able to swim in the ocean everyday!
Cons: Changing the ice under the food that is out on the 8th floor and making sure the hot foods stay hot. The food is out for the preferred guests all day.
Location: Right on the bay about 20 mins from town if you want to go to the boardwalk and check it out, plenty to see and do there. Jet ski or lay on the beach.
This place is paradise! Beautiful and clean, all of the staff were wonderful they treat you like royalty! They make sure you are never in need of anything! Plenty of food and drink! I will go back for sure!

Best hotel in the areaPosted Apr 24, 2015
Pros: Everything is exceptional here. Do not even try other resorts...we did and they do not compare to this one
Cons: Expedia could use help in terms of informing clients about no transfers to and from airport; not included in package
Excellent staff and service staff helped my husband who is disabled; they were there for him 24/7

Great hotel, great servicePosted Jan 1, 2015
Pros: Proximity to beach, food quality and service.
Cons: Snack bar location and lack of sit-down food availability from 5:00 pm to 6:30 pm. There should be more warnings about the rip tide.
Location: Long way from downtown Puerto Vallarta and any shopping. The Nuevo Vallarta marina is about 5-10 minutes away by taxi.
This hotel has great service and the rooms are large and comfortable. The staff were very attentive to our needs. Since we had a family group of 14, the hotel located us on one floor adjacent to each other, which was what we asked for. The food is well prepared and all restaurants allow children except the Italian one. We would have liked easier access to the snack bar, which is located closer to the beach than the main tower. I think they used to have the snack bar closer to the lobby, but it was moved due to preparations for the Christmas Eve supper. Also between 5:00 pm, when the snack bar closes, and 6:30 pm, when the restaurants open, the only food available is through room service. The Christmas Eve supper was really excellent, with Mexican folklore entertainment by the pool side. The rooms have a strange set up with the bath-tub standing out in the room between the shower/toilet area and the sleeping area, which makes it too open for comfort. There were also some plumbing issues is one of our many rooms and no stoppers in the sinks. However, the rooms are very spacious and each has a couch seating area. The mini bar had beer and soft drinks and was restocked each day. There is a jacuzzi on the deck, which is nice to relax in the open. The beach is clean and lots of fun for boogy boarding. One of our party got hurt is a large wave and the Amerimed doctor was there quickly. I can't say enough for how attentive the doctor (Brenda) was. All turned out well.
