BAD FOOD AND BORINGPosted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: POOL, BEACH
Cons: HIRE NEW COOKS AND SERVE BETTER QUALITY FOOD
Location: 15 MIN AIRPORT 15-25$ TRANSPORT COST EVERYTHING ELSE IS FAR
WE VACATION IN MEXICO TWICE A YEAR THIS HOTEL WAS BIG DISAPPOINTMENT. NOTHING TO EAT IN THE BUFFET NO FRUIT NO DESERT NO SEA FOOD. VERY BORING. NO FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED BY THE POOL. NO SWIM UP BARS. 75% TIMESHARE CONDOS. 90% HISPANIC SPEAKING VACATIONING HERE. MANY I SPOKE WITH FROM MEXICO. NOT ENOUGH LOUNGE CHAIRS. HARD MATTRESSES. KIDS ONLY EAT CHICKEN NUGGETS. DRINKS WATERED. GET BOTTLE WINE PAY FOR IT, ONLY GLASS WINE FREE. WILL NOT RETURN. ITS MUCH WORSE THAN ITS RATED.

Nice enoughPosted Nov 25, 2013
The hotel was nice, rooms were good except for our key failed to work several times. The food was ok, the buffet was horrible but the rest were just fine with the exception of the Italian restaurant it was excellent. The staff was overall very pleasent just had one grumpy poolside waiter... Must have been having a bad day. The beach was not useable as there were several stingray attacks. The pools were ok nothing fantastic. Little disappointed there was no disco for night time and the drink service ended at 11pm. The night entertainment was fairly good. Overall I had fun but I don't think I will be returning.

Wonderful ResortPosted Oct 7, 2013
Pros: Wonderful location, very clean and super friendly staff!
Cons: The one thing I would ask is that there be other options than beer in the room. Not everyone likes beer. Also have a bar open later than 12:30.
Location: Outdoor adventure!!!!!!!!!
My friend and I just got back from a great girls week without our husbands and it was fantastic! There was a little confusion on their part that we were a couple, but no big deal. It actually was rather funny! The staff were amazing. Anything we asked for we got and more. Our room was on the top floor with a great view or both the mountains and the ocean. The food was always great with lots of choices. The first few days we didn't notice security around the pool but as the week went on it got so that they were always around looking to see if you were drinking in or even near the pool.

Good family hotelPosted Jul 5, 2013
Cons: Getting rid of the timeshare people in the lobby!
Location: Good location only 15 minutes from the airport. Nothing to do close by, we went to downtown PV also Marina Vallarta for dinner.
I have always enjoyed the Dreams Puerto Vallarta hotel, so we thought we would give the Dreams Villa Magna a try. The reception staff was very efficient, but the minute you turn away from the desk, you are approached by the VACATION TIME (timeshare) rep. I had been thru this before at the other Dreams hotel, I told him a very firm no thank you, but other guests were not so lucky, they were shown to a desk and the talk began, all for a bunch of coupons that are really pretty worthless. We enjoyed our stay, due to rain in the evening two of the restaurants were not open, so the choices for dinner were limited. Portofino has a dress code for men, my grandson did not have any long pants with him as I imagine many of the gentlemen guests did not, so we couldn't have dinner there. The service in the restaurants for lunch and dinner were excellent, not fast and not slow. The beach boys were always on the run, did a great job. Housekeeping left a bit to be desired, one day we did not get towels, only one face towel for the whole week. What happened to turn down service as advertised? Many of the guests that used the gym stayed on the machines much too long, people waiting around. As an older guest, I might come back, during winter season when it is not so crowded...but I still prefer the ambience of Dreams Puerto Vallarta.
