Nice hotel, right on beach.Posted Apr 22, 2015
Pros: Location, view, price, quietness, staff, cleanliness, pool, restaurant
Cons: Maintenance: tiles missing in tub, paint flaking off of wall, patio doors hard to open or close. Better equipped kitchenette. Wifi in room.
This hotel has a great location, right on a swimable beach and within an easy walk to town. In it's day, it was probably a beautiful building. Unfortunately, it has become somewhat run down and in need of maintenance and refurbishing. But if you don't look too closely, and don't mind a few imperfections, it is a great place to stay for the money. The room was very clean as were all of the public areas. The pool was lovely. The downside at the time of our visit was construction going on at the property next to us. This only affected us when we used the pool or sat in the lobby to use the wifi (which was NOT available in the rooms, as the website claims). We could not hear the construction noise from our room, which was super quiet. The view from our huge balcony was breathtaking. The "kitchenette" was somewhat of a joke. It was great to have a fridge for cold beer etc., but don't plan on cooking meals there. I asked for a coffee maker and did receive a nice one within a day. The staff, especially, Miguel at the front desk were extremely helpful. The restaurant at the beach, which seemed to belong to this hotel, but actually belongs to the complex next door, was convenient, served really good food at reasonable prices and also had a killer view. As this hotel is built on a cliff, there are many floors and many stairs. No elevator. Miguel carried our bags to our room, so that was not a problem, but people with mobility issues or little kids, would find this a challenge.

Older but clean. Close to beachPosted Mar 15, 2015
Enjoyed the stay but minor annoyances, drains didn't work well, toilets took 3 flushes, no wash cloths, wifi only at front desk, coffee maker in room but no coffee or filters, only one chair at pool, beautiful location and ocean sounds at night with doors open was awesome. Need transportation to town, unless you like walking which we did.

Beach is awful stay closer to the cityPosted Mar 8, 2015
Hotel was old and kind of dirty also pool was not accessible due to new buildings. No hair dryer in rooms - old shower - everything was old. No elevator at all so if u need one do not stay here.

Old World CharmPosted Feb 2, 2015 on Hotels.com
Step back in time to this old world style property. Simple, clean, and comfortable. We had room 401: firm European King bed, wall Ac, kitchenette, jetted tub on covered and private porch. Bathroom smelled like sulfur in the morning. 20" flat-screen TV. Ceiling fan. French doors are a bit tough to open but keep them open. Temp averaged 82 degrees. No elevators and many steps to lower level restaurant and beach. Only are at breakfast buffet: sweet breads, very good coffee, cereals, omelets, fruits, etc. Very tasty about $14pp. Beach is beautiful but rocky, not too swim able but more calm about one mile South. Very friendly staff. Free parking. Only wifi that worked is the codes at the front desk. We had a rental car so did not take advantage of public transit. There is a small grocery within walking distance. There are many modern resorts in the area, this property has charm and is comparatively priced Close to downtown action. They do lock the main entry gate by 10m, but a friendly attendant will open for you. Our room was cleaned everyday, but they do not offer extra towels. Hot water ran low around dinnertime, lots of people freshening up at the same time I assume. The pool was empty until Saturday, didn't use it. Yes, there is construction right next door. We were up and of the door early everyday by 8am, the workers were just walking in and they left by 6pm. Really enjoyed our stay and would book again!

Linda Vista...!Posted Jan 27, 2015

Great deal for a wonderful place. Yes, there was construction but I didn't come to Mexico to stay in a hotel. Close to everything and the beach is perfect.
