Beautiful hotel

Posted May 9, 2015
Everything about this hotel is beautiful: the rooms, the view, the decor, the art. The pool is especially wonderful and may possibly be the highlight. The staff were super friendly and helpful. One piece of advice though, call ahead and let them know if you need to arrive late.

Spent only one night on our way to Sayulita---sad to not be able to spend more time. Wonderful hidden treasure of a hotel for people seeking an intimate and unique experience.

Wonderful respite from the crowds!

Posted Apr 11, 2015
My friend and I stayed here recently for a few days and we can't say enough about it. Beautiful little hotel, colors and artwork that made it classy, and such a nice place to retreat to after a day on the beaches or the malecon. We liked our rooms and there's quite a variety in the hotel depending on your group size. The breakfast was at an outdoor table looking over all of PV, and there's a rooftop with mini pool and lounge chairs to relax. It's a steep 6-7 blocks up from the water, so factor that in, but the result is an amazing view and a quiet location.

Great location and service

Posted Mar 26, 2015
The staff at Luna Liquida was so helpful both before and during our stay. Our room was lovely and the rooftop/pool were fabulous. We were able to park under the building which was a great advantage. Location is up the hill from the busyness of Zona Romantica and the Malecon. Great vistas. Quiet and restful. The walk on the cobblestones and uneven streets could be challenging for some people in addition to the walk back up the hill but we enjoyed it and knew we could easily catch a cab if it got dark or we got tired. I would definitely stay here again and recommend to friends.

Great view and awesome staff

Posted Mar 17, 2015
Pros: The staff, the view, the other guests, great fruit and pastry on the terrace every morning.
Cons: nothing can be improved. I loved everything about the hotel
Location: Puerto Vallarta is a great city. This hotel is located in the central area of town so everthing is just a short cab ride. Several good resturants.
We stayed at Luna Liquida for a week in February, 2015. First let me say as the other reviews have said the hill is extremely steep. But nothing a small taxi ride cannot handle. That is the only drawback to this hotel. Every person on the staff is friendly and helpful even with some language barrier we were able to stumble thru, I was in Mexico after all so I didnt expect an all english speaking staff. This was not a draw back, this was just a bit of flavor. The view is un-touchable. Simply awe inspiring.

Pros: Staff, views, decor, quiet
Cons: Provide hangers, improve Internet access, replace microwaved sweet roll @ breakfast w/ something more tasty and imaginative
Pretty and quiet, good for short stay at current price point. Would not pay what is shown as the "undiscounted" price. As others have noted, do not count on taxis knowing how to get you there. Mine almost gave up even after I showed him the address. That said, the "secret" location that is still close to it all is a large part of the charm.

Boutique Hotel in the Zona Vieja

Posted Feb 27, 2015
Pros: Location near the center, beautiful views and general appearance and "feel".
Cons: TV in the rooms would be nice but for guests staying only for a few days it doesn't matter.
Location: Within walking distance of many, many good restaurants.
I stayed here for 18 nights in February. The hotel is small, only 14 rooms - all different in size and configuration. I booked the "junior suite" which was a large room with large bathroom, 2 balconies - facing west (view of the cathedral and bay) and south (view of town toward Conchas Chinas). It is located in a relatively quiet neighborhood on a hillside 7 blocks from the malecon, 4 blocks of which are a very steep climb on irregular cobblestones or equally irregular stairways. I walked down but took a taxi back to the hotel. For me, it wasn't worth the effort compared with paying $40-$50 pesos (depending on the driver's mood). Despite being close to the center of town many taxi drivers had to be given directions (in Spanish) how to get there. For non-Spanish speakers I suggest you print out a map to show the drivers. The hotel is very comfortable but if you are looking for a swim-up bar and umbrella drinks this is not the place for you. Furnishings are simple but nice (good quality mattress for example). There is a common area with TV and full kitchen which guests may use. The rooms do not have phones or TV. I spoke to many guests during my stay and heard only positive comments.

Nice and small

Posted Feb 20, 2015
Pros: The room was spacious. The rooftop pool area was great. The staff were wonderful.
Cons: a general overview of the villa and location( with map) would have been nice. Options of room choices ...if possible.
Location: Great location except for the climb up the steep hill. A cab from town was only around $4 though. Not close to beach.
The staff were all very nice. If you needed something( towel, ice etc) staff were quick to respond. I checked in after 8 PM in the evening. It would have been nice to have been shown other available rooms and given some options ( if there were any) and also given a quick review of how things worked, where the closest convienance store was located, how much to expect to pay in cab fare from town etc. Otherwise I Loved the setting and the overall feel of the villa. I will stay here again.

Amazing Place!

Posted Feb 20, 2015 on Hotels.com
This little gem is worth the walk up the steep cobblestone hill. Never mind that its not on the beach. You can always rent a palapa for the day on the beach. And then watch the sunset from the amazing roof top pool. Each room is unique and special, but some have shared baths. The people are very friendly and call you by name. We will be coming back here!
