Best Resort in Nuevo RivieraPosted Jul 27, 2015
Stayed with group of 6 women to celebrate friend's 40th Birthday. The entire stay was a delight! Front desk staff were attentive, happy to help, informative. Housekeeping staff were fast to respond to towel requests, and the entire resort is meticulously clean...every bathroom, every hallway, all windows, all walk areas, the pool, dining areas, etc. Spa is second to none! The entertainment really appeals to broad tastes and is great for all ages. Families were abundant and all other guests seemed happy and well-cared for. We were spoiled by our restaurant wait staff and the beach beverage staff! Cannot say enough good things about Gerry, our dinner server, who arranged for special decor on table, Birthday cake, champagne, and singer to sing for our group. Our "cabana boy", German, was humorous, took care of us with drinks and a smile. This 5 day trip could not have been better!!!! Highly recommend this resort.

DisappointingPosted Jul 27, 2015
The Riu Palace Pacifico was ok but I will not return. The rooms were fine and had a partial view of the ocean, which was lovely. But the beds were very hard, the bathtub/shower was narrow... almost dangerous ( I slipped and cracked my knee more than once) If we didn't keep the balcony door closed and AC on, the mirrors and floor got damp and steamed up. Being their humid time of the year, this wasn't surprising, but how slippery the floor got was. Perhaps they could find a way to make the floors more safe. The Pool was cloudy/murky ( it's cleanliness was questionable at best) The food was ok...eatable but salty and lacked flavor. We tried all of the restaurants and the buffet and found this true at all of them. The drinks were what you would expect. Weak, too sweet and plentiful. Perhaps my biggest disappointment was the fact that the DID NOT serve Corona or Pacifico at this resort. I thought this IS Mexico... :-(

Another Awesome HolidayPosted Jul 21, 2015
Pros: It was beautiful, and the staff was fantastic. I loved the beach and all the entertainment.
Cons: Do not allow children in the pool bar area. I understand that it is a family friendly resort, but kids shouldn't be in the bar area.
Location: Location was great, plenty of fun activities near by and transportaion is affordable and easily arranged.
I have stayed at several RIU Resorts over the past few years, all of which were in Mexico. As is always the case, the RIU Palace resorts leave my wife and I wishing we could stay longer. The staff has always been exceptionally friendly, almost like family!! The rooms have always been spotless and comfortable. The facilities and food have always impressed. It's great service, attention to detail and beautiful facilities are the very reasons my wife and I continue to visit this resort chain year after year. I highly recommend a stay at any RIU resort, I know we will continue to be loyal guests for years to come.

Can't go wrongPosted Jul 19, 2015
Overall great experience, great food and drinks. Only negative would be the krystal restaurant, very poor service, ended up walking out. Very clean rooms and most staff made you feel at home. The wife was very happy with the place so thats all that matters. Above average buffets, bartenders never let my glass be empty for more than a minute.

Don't hesitate. Just do it!Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: Nice view, restaurants very close, very accommodating for transportation. Catered to all age groups. Very family oriented.
Cons: Didi not like that people were able to reserve lounge chairs by pool real early in the morning, Then took off and came back later. Not good !
Location: Transportation was easy for where ever you wanted to go.Just walk out the door and Voila! Town just 25 min. away.
Had a fantastic time. All the staff were extremely nice ,respectful and courteous. Not one had a bad attitude. Felt like I wanted to become friends with each and every one of them. One person that really stood out was Julian, one of the waiters at La Peninsula Buffet. He had a table set up for us when we came outside to eat our breakfast. Coffee and O,J. all ready for us when we sat. Made it really hard for us to leave because we felt we may never see them again we return. All the staff were great. The place was constantly being maintained for our comfort and pleasure. Very hard workers ! Food was very good, maid service excellent etc. Give those guys a raise !

Wonderful view, but food was lacking!!!Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: We were very impressed with the upkeep and cleaning of the hotel. Staff was very pleasant to deal with and very accommodating.
Cons: Add Additional activity's for kids of all ages and work of the food for sure.
Hotel was very clean and maintained. As far as the food it was definitely lacking. The sit down reservation restaurants were just ok. The buffets were just not good after a couple of days we were just done with them. We traveled with 15 guests and 5 of them ended up sick from something. Although not sure it was the food. There also needed to be more things for kids (mine were 15 and 17) to do. They ended up very bored.
