Comfort, great value for the price.Posted Oct 23, 2013
Pros: Staff and beach access were great. Rooms were big and clean. If you eat at the Venezia restaurant ask for the Espana coffee for desert! The best!
Cons: Major updates to the decor throughout the facility including the rooms. Updates to the bathrooms
Location: Beach access and a 30 minute drive to downtown Puerto Vallarta.
My husband and I stayed here for three nights during our recent visit. We were invited to attend a wedding of a family member. This was not a resort that I would have picked to stay (as this was my 3rd visit to Puerto Vallarta) but was pleased to say I would go back. The hotel is in need of major updates (older furniture, gym renovation, etc...) but is very clean. We stayed in a oceanview suite and has a great view and large deck. The staff makes all the diference in the world, friendly, warm, and willing to help. This is friendly family resort even though I did not see an organized children's program. I got a massage and it was great and a great value. I would recommend this resort to families and singles to the resort.

Nice, comfy beach front hotel in Nuevo VallartaPosted Sep 20, 2013
We just got back last week and had a very comfortable and pleasant 6-day stay at the Samba Vallarta. We'd like to return and bring family and friends with us! We really liked the staff, food+drinks and nice things like free Wifi, free safe, pool table, etc. Staff was very nice and helpful whenever we needed something. We asked for a quiet room and was given one on the 1st floor as that's what's available and were told to check back in two days. It was a good-sized room w/ a comfortable bed, nice flat screen TV, fast+free WiFi, and a balcony which we loved. There were minor things like the bed cover smelled like from humidity, a bed light didn't work, the sliding door outside handle needed to be secured, and some people were loud in the hallway and a neighbor with a loud TV set on after midnight but these didn't last. The room in general was fine so we decided to keep it. The food and drinks were AWESOME especially at the Italian and Mexican restaurants. We ordered seafood, beef and chicken and everything was so wonderful!! The Spanish coffee was heavenly and watching the staff making it was such an amazing experience!!! The buffet food was also good. We liked that the cream soups were delicate (not salty) and breakfast omelettes were great. It was September so it's not so crowded on the beach, the water was nice and warm, it was rainy during some days but in general the weather was nice. We totally enjoyed our vacation, thank you so much Samba for your hospitality!

Wonderful TripPosted Aug 19, 2013
We had a wonderful time. Staff was very nice and went out of their way to help us. We lost our camera bag and they were able to locate it for us and got it to us in one piece. We just hope that they would train more of their staff to be able to speak English. Our biggest problem was with Grayline [this was booked through Expedia concierge] when they came to pick us up, they apparently was instructed to hire the hotel taxi to take us back to the airport. Their representative had no problem solving skills - he got the taxi for the 8 of us but this taxi did not cater for the luggage for 8 as we also had a baby stroller. Thankfully, both Victor and Alessander [bell boys at Samba] were great - they hustled and arranged for another taxi and were able to get us to the airport on the nick of the time to catch the flight. Every single staff of Samba whom we had to deal with did great job - I cannot say enough. Thank you everyone.

Excellent Small ResortPosted Jul 13, 2013
Pros: Being a smaller resort, not having to fight all kinds of people for your pool recliners, or having to wait for your meals.
Cons: The reception was not that good. I asked for a King bed for my wife & I and was told none available. Maybe tue or wed. Wed I asked was told none.
Location: Nuevo Vallarta is away from Puerto Vallarta. Away from the hussle & bussle. Buceria has restaurants, Flea Market and shops. Great Mega Store close
The Hotel hass 188 rooms, unlike the other larger resorts. The resort personnel are very friendly and ALL give you that personal touch and feeling. The food was very good, exceptional breakfasts. Lore at the egg station was the nicest lady and she would make any kind of eggs you wanted. The specialty restaurants, Mexican and Italian are worth signing up for. The recreation people (Manuel & Delicious) were very outgoing and their people kept you going with great intertainment. The water aerobics was the best. Martin was the #1 Bartender, friendly courteous and always remembered your drinks and name. Salvador was the most friendly waiter around the pool or beach, he kept you in beverages all the time. These people really take good care of you. The maids do a super job on your rooms, very clean. Please tip all these people, they deserve it.
