Great location best thing about this hotel.Posted Mar 1, 2014
Pros: Location. Very friendly guests.
Cons: Beds could be more comfortable.
Location: Right by the pier, lots of restaurants and shops nearby.
We stayed here for four days; our first all inclusive experience. Beds were hard--but we asked for, and got, eventually, a foamy that helped a lot. Food was better than expected but got to be kind of boring. Lots of noise from the street, but it's right downtown, what can you expect?

Great disappointmentPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Staff was great, the view, and the beach oh yeah location
Cons: redo bathrooms better beds and pillows
Location: anything you want,
First room dirty bathroom scary, beds hard, moved us after complaining 2 days later, better room, shower glass door painted brown, toilet would have to be flushed five times before empty, lost water 5 times during stay, food was cold in buffet, only hot food was omelets cooked in front of you, only 2 toasters (residential ones) for all site. It is too bad because of great location on beach in old town. we took the all inclusive and went out for supper all but one night. No meals a la carte available. All this place needs is a bit of remodeling and hot food and it would be great, Great view 3 pools. really disappointed.

Room very basic.Posted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: It was close to the beach.
Cons: The hotel was very basic. It needs to be modernized.
Location: It was right on the beach, and close to many restaurants which were varied and very good. Most places were in walking distance.
The first room we were allocated was tiny. Although we were allocated a second larger room, I thought the room facilities were very basic and old fashioned. It certainly requires some upgrading and maintenance. Otherwise, the hotel was okay for the time of our stay.

Always our choice when visiting PVPosted Feb 2, 2014
NO it is not 5 Star, BUT, location & staff make this your best option to experience Old Town Vallarta. Junior Suites are your best view option and worth the upgrade. The buffet style dining always has something to satisfy your appetite, the breakfast omelette bar is always yummy, lunch time fav is the bacon wrapped hot dogs, if they have the special treat of guacamole it is the best ever !! Only thing that they could do better is keep the food hotter. Two weeks becomes repetitive for dining but you are downtown and very inexpensive to eat out !! The staff is excellent starting at the front desk, through to the 3 bars, and serving staff and housekeeping gals. They are all 5 Star for sure.

Pros: the staff
Location: walking, beach life, shopping, etc.
Great location, beds are hard, stayed in room facing the street, very noisy with traffic. Had a water leak and had to move after 4 days. They could use an update in rooms. Meals were fine, getting better each time. Have stayed here many times and we love the staff especially Alex the waiter as he welcomes us with open arms. All in all I will stay here again as it is my favourite place. Louis the activity guy is really a great guy and spent lots of time kayaking and playing volleyball I cannot say enough about the staff and how good they were. This hotel is not a 5 start but it is comfortable. We have stayed here 7 or 8 times and we will return next year. If you do not like Men Couples, do not go here. This does not bother men and I have had some great visits with them.

First StayPosted Jan 14, 2014
Pros: The hotel facilities are incredible, and location puts you right in the centre of all the action.
Cons: Rooms and bathrooms could be updated.
Location: Right beside the new and beautiful Pier in Old Town Puerto Vallarta you are at the centre of all the action.
This was my first stay at the hotel and wanted to try a short stay to see if I would book an extended stay for 2-3 weeks. The facilities are great and the location is spectacular so it is right where you want to be. It is a Mexican older hotel so the rooms are dated and small however my time inside the room was limited so this was not a turn off for me.

Great location, OK food, not the best matressesPosted Jan 13, 2014
Pros: Great views, location and friendly staff.
Cons: Better beds. Better food.
Location: Great location for Old town experience. Restaurants and great beaches and bars are in walking distance.
San Marino has great location in old town PV. Also, the new pier has brought a new activities and life to the area. About the food, we get what we paid for. If we want to experience better food, just skip the all inclusive and go out. The bed mattresses are however extremely hard. I heard one can get an extra cover to add a softer mattress but I didn't ask for it. Also, if you choose to book this hotel, be aware that you are not getting the large-newer hotel experience, but more an "Old town" experience. If you have been in PV before, you'll know what I mean.

Amazing location!Posted Jan 8, 2014
Pros: Location and views
Cons: Putting seals/insulation around the doors/windows
Location: Right in the heart of Puerto Vallarta, close to many great restaurants and a short walk to the Malecon.
The location of this hotel is impecable, especially for the gay friendly. Lots to do and great places to eat. The view of the Junior suite was stunning. The only drawback was the lack of soundproofing on the room due to the wall of windows, you can hear all the noise from the beach, the cars, and any other noise going on around. But that is managable. Overall it was a great place!
