Great stay and an enjoyable area. The beach is very small, but if you plan a couple of excursions you have a great stay. Pool area is a great feature as well.

Nice folks, quiet stayPosted Jun 30, 2014
Pros: The quiet atmosphere
Cons: Explain how the all inclusive works more thoroughly but once we figured it out we were in heaven.
Location: Loved the Islas Marietas tour with boat #1. A great fun day!
Loved everything about our stay. We loved getting to know the staff and the all inclusive plan. They are some genuinely nice folks and good at what they do.

Pros: rooms and staff
Cons: pool service and pool bar amenities
Location: marina vallarta has some great eats sticky finger wings and fajita banana are our favorite places also vickis tamales downtown is awesome
we had a great time at the sunset plaza only a few things we did not like the main 1 being the pool bar we spend the majority of our time on vacation in the pool and would have loved to have either music or tvs or something at the pool there is nothing as a matter of fact they wont even serve you while in the pool even though there are seats in the pool at the bar area bartenders only stay above on the restaurant side plus there is no shade while in the pool the 2nd would be the food we do not ever do the all inclusive and the sunset plaza is one of the reasons why only 1 sit down restaurant (which u have to wear pants and shoes) and heard it wasnt very good and not much to choose from have better options around town for us and other people we had talked to while staying there on our 9 day vacation all were agreed on having better service and either music or tvs at the pool would make this a great place to stay we are in our 40's and dont like the whole teen party seen but this was a little to quiet even for us

Paradise on Earth!Posted Jun 17, 2014
Location: There was shopping nearby, fast food, Gold's Gym and small sports bars.
From the location, to the setting, ambiance, staff, food, everything was great about this hotel. I will definitely stay here again! Well done, Sunset Plaza, especially the butlers David and Juan and concierge Selene - I couldn't have asked for better service from them.

Absolutely wonderful experience!Posted May 20, 2014
Pros: The pool, swim up bar, restaurants, rooms, views, easy accessibility, spa experience was excellent.
Cons: Move movie selection - but not a big deal.
Location: We went into town quite a bit and took the local bus and taxis. Bus was easy to use and bus stop close to hotel. The Malecon boardwalk was very nice
I took my daughter to Sunset Plaza in Puerto Vallarta for her college graduation and birthday. We had the best vacation we've ever had. The hotel is beautiful, easy to navigate, convenient to airport and Old town (great restaurants). The views from the balcony are fabulous and sitting and sipping a cocktail while watching the sunset was special. We stayed in a suite and I highly recommend that. They are so spacious and we loved having a kitchen to heat up left overs and have a quiet morning in. I only used the jacuzzi once - but it was great. Having two showers is nice when coming back from a day out. I can't say enough about this hotel and vacation location.

Great resort with great staff!!Posted May 10, 2014
We had an awesome time at sunset plaza. Clean rooms, great food and excellent customer service! I would highly recommend this resort and downtown (al centro) is not too far from the resort- about 10 min by taxi. If we were to come back to puerto vallarta, we would definitely stay here again :)

Hotel staff was very friendly! Manager shook my hand at check in. Clean hotel-food not bad. We just stayed one night because the Westin was not available...Doesn't matter where you stay if you ask me, Puerto Vallarta speaks for itself, u feel like a part of the community from minute one!!

A quiet place, great for kidsPosted May 3, 2014
Pros: Very quiet and small compared to other all-inclusives. good service.
Cons: had to wait sometimes for waiters at the restaurant.
Location: the location is in the hotel zone. there are some clubs on the main drag within a 5-minute walk. the hotel is right on the beach.
unlike other all-inclusive resorts, this one is quiet. no loud music blaring by the pool that gets annoying after a couple of days. We spent 8 days there with a 14-month old daughter, and it was perfect, 'cause she could take a nap right by the pool side. The place also had a kids room, and she loved to spend time there. Very friendly staff, decent food. The quality of drinks dependent on the bartender - they varied from strong to sugary/watery. the old town is only a 10-minute ride by taxi (65 pesos).

Nice small resort perfect locationPosted Apr 28, 2014
We spent 6 days at Sunset plaza The resort is a smaller resort which is exactly what we were looking for. We took advantage of the all inclusive package. I loved the fact that there was no buffet, we ate at the restaurants and the food had a good variety. Overall the hotel looked very nice our view was amazing. The staff were wonderful. We truly enjoyed our stay. I have nothing bad to say.
