Awesome place

Great resort with a low key feel. Service is first class and rooms are very modern. We had a little issue once we arrived. They said our floor had water maintenance issues so they put us in the Hilton for two nights. I was upset but it's what we had to do. I personally think they over booked but nonetheless we experienced the Hilton which was nothing like the Sunset Plaza. Sunset Plaza had better rooms, service, and food. The only thing better at the Hilton was the beach because it was bigger. Once we got back to the Sunset they upgraded our room due to the inconvenience and gave us a jacuzzi sweet on the 15th floor, one floor below the Penthouse. The views are incredible from the Sunset Plaza. Very nice place, especially for all inclusive.

Great views and luxurious, modern rooms

Posted Apr 5, 2014
Pros: the location the rooms the view the food swim up bar the staff the luxury feel
Cons: more variety of restaurants noisy hotel next store
Location: beach, shopping, restaurants, in between downtown and the marina
We stayed in the one bedroom suite which was beautiful. I liked that it had two bathroom, so we each had our own. The furnishings and design were very modern which made you feel like you were staying in luxury. The jacuzzi tub was nice and the showers were top notch. Every room had an ocean view The balcony was so large, we had breakfast out there one morning while looking out on the ocean. Excellent. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The pools were nice as well as the spa. I loved the hot tubs and their privacy. The food was great, loved all the seafood options. I also love the location. Seems to be a quiet part of town, away from the port, filled with tourists and far enough away from the busy downtown, but close enough to walk (a long walk). I enjoyed feeling like I was still in Mexico once I left the hotel. Even though we were there during spring break, it wasn't that kind of atmosphere, which was nice!! More families, couples. Two sort of negatives: the hotel next store was a bit loud, BUT they ended around ten p.m. so it was not that big of a deal. The other negative was I would have preferred more restaurants. For all-inclusive, you don't have a ton of choices, and some meals even require and additional up charge. The liquor was not top notch, but sufficient. I think on the European plan, this was wonderful. I am not sure it it would be worth the all-inclusive. But, if the hotel does expand and offer more choices, that would be wonderful

Wonderful hotel by the ocean

Pros: That it was new and everything was well maintained. All staff very helpful an friendly That smoking only allowed in designated areas
Cons: Better service in restaurant. More changes in menus
Location: Not far from great zip line course and downtown
We were amazed at the opulence of our Junior Suite. We had not expected a full kitchen with excellent appliances. The dining and living room areas were comfortable and more roomy than we had expected. Our balcony was especially spacious and got the sun most of the day. Beautiful view of ocean and lots of seating. Could have had a party for 30 on it!! Quality of furniture great, Huge bed with quality bedding and lots of storage room. Large bathroom with separate shower and Jacuzzi bath. Liked the choice of room perfume and bedding perfume. Enjoyed all our meals in the restaurant although service pretty slow in a la carte restaurant. Loved the coffee fire display. Servers very attentive and friendly in main restaurant.

Would definitely return

Once we resolved a few booking issues that were Expedia's mistake, the remainder of our stay was fantastic. Being on the smaller size at 100 rooms, the staff always made you feel as if you were their primary concern. Alejandro served us on the beach at a feverish pace. The chef prepared a special dinner for us and our guests with the fish we caught that morning. The facilities are well maintained and kept immaculate. The beaches in this part of Vallarta have seen some erosion but were adequate for what we needed. We spent most days on the beach. We would definitely return.

Relatively new, well situated beach property with everything that you expect from a resort in Mexico. Great ambiance with three pools, excellent restaurants and the most accommodating and friendly staff that we've experienced in years. Everyone at the resort went out of their way to ensure that we had a wonderful experience.

Nice hotel close to downtown.

Pros: This was a small all-inclusive so staff were very accommodating. Food was great and facility was very clean.
Cons: Having to turn your wristband in at noon even though you may not be leaving the hotel for hours.
Location: The downtown was within a 35 minute walk or a $6.50 US ride. Lots to do in the downtown area on the water.
Hotel and restaurant staff were excellent. Very helpful with anything that was required.

Nice hotel, so so management

Posted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: Nice room with balcony.
Cons: Extra charges when you check in.
Location: Fairly close to town, but we would stay within walking distance next time.
Hotel is lovely and so was the lower level staff. Our child had not been added to our reservation (not intended by us) and although we had booked a room with 2 queen beds they charged us a ridiculously high fee for having her in the room with us.
