Pros: It seemed to be clean.
Cons: Some of the personnel seemed to present an attitude at times. But most were welcoming.
Location: It was further away from the main drag about 6 blocks through residential to get to Olas Altas and then about 3/4 to a mile to the blue chairs.
I use an oxygen concentrator and requested a ground level room because going up stairs can be challenging especially if carry anything. I received a very dark dismal tiny little cubicle on 2nd floor in the far back of the building. Again requested something on lower level and received a better room but on third floor. A friend of mine offered to change rooms with me and so I eventually got a room on second floor but better space and good air circulation. The hotel personal didn't seem pleased about our switching rooms but it was necessary since they couldn't accomodate my request.

Cheap Surprise hotel from Expedia Buyer beware!

Posted Dec 6, 2013
This hotel was sold as a mystery hotel on expedia! This was nothing like the comfort inn - which it was compared to when purchasing(before actually knowing) This hotel is not a 2.5 star it shouldn't be classified as a hotel! This is at best described comparable to a room at a youth hostel. The hotel had 18 rooms occupied the night I arrived-out of 60 rooms available to rent. On the first night I was given the worst room up 2 flights of stairs with NO window to the outside. The smell of humidity in the bedding was overwhelming and the pillow was lumpy from the 1970s. As it was late and I'd been in the room more than 10 mins the receptionist rosa said she wouldn't change it as perhaps now it was dirty! There were 42 other rooms available that night!!! Rosa was looking for another 100 pesos to put me into a room that had a small balcony. Honest? No! I booked a budget hotel at lowest season and was given the worst room in the house- I do realize 100 pesos is not significant - however it is the principal and the matter of expedia not monitoring the hotels they are pawning off as hotels- this is a pension/ hostal The room I was given was as the rooms at youth hostels. Next time even if I was desperate I would not stay here- oh wait I am sure there won't be another occasion.

Awesome !! Family hotel:))

Posted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: Tractiononally Mexican, very friendly staff, very clean . The hotel is well priced too:))
Cons: Communal kitchen so I could make breakfast and dinner @ home at the hotel.
Location: Lots of local shops, restaurants , street vendors. A family oriented neighborhood , friendly aswell:))
I really enjoyed my weeks stay @ Villa Del Mar. Located amoungst locals housing and restaurants, it was a warm feeling having so many locals around on the streets. As I'm looking for an authentic Mexican experience:)) I found that experience here.

Close to transportation, restaurants and the beach

I have stayed at the Tradicional Villa Del Mar a few times and have always had good service, 24 hr hot water, and clean rooms. This last stay had only a minor problem with a squeeky ceiling fan, but that was resolved.

A little bit of the real Puerto Vallarta

Posted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Mexican ambience, close to absolutely everything (within in walking distance).
Cons: Maybe some general renovations.
Location: Best location for ALL P.V. has to offer. Loved the real Mexican neighbourhood vibe.
Loved the 'hood, the staff, the general old Mexico charm.

Not what i expected.

Posted Sep 17, 2013
Pros: nothing
Cons: not worth saving
I have stayed in P.V. on a budget many times. However, this hotel just did not even qualify as budget. Generally the boutique hotels sre small, but relatively clean with working televisions and such. This was just a dirty, extraordinarily small double with no room to even move around. I moved out on day one knowing that to stay there any longer would completely ruin my vacation. Could not recommend to anyone.

affordable hotel

this hotel offers an affordable staying. Good lokation in a historical place, spacious room. There is no any restaurant inside, but a lot of places for eating around. Clean,no air conditioned, no hair dryer..with just necessary things for accomodation. However, we were enjoyned,as we got all we had expected.Would recommend to the tourists on a budget.

This is a well located small hotel. It is clean, the staff is great, and for the price you can't beat it.
