Food was better than we expected.Posted Jan 23, 2015
Pros: its set up well.
Cons: they need to figure out how not to disrupt the people at the pool closes to the ocean with their festival dinners. they need more chairs and umbrella'
Location: nice resturants just across the street...grocery and liquor store 3 blks away. Bus stop less than a blk away
Food was better than we expected. Their restuarants do a great job overall. Its an older community with a lot of activities for seniors. The even activites intefer with your later afternoon enjoyment of the pool which is dissappointing. As with most hotels in Mexico, finding a chair to sit at the pool or on the beach can be challenging ... they ask for folks not to reserve chairs, however everyone does, and there it a lot of bickering about this. They do a pretty good job keeping "kid activites" to one pool, so if that's not your deal..you don't have to deal with it. Their SPA facility is good, their massage is well done, however make sure to ask more questions on the exact price you will pay. This is the only time they speak to you "in American dollars"...then they charge you the going exchange rate plus tax...that's a bit of a surprise. Their laundry facility is very clean and convenient to use. Overall the experience was good. They make it convenient for you to move about the resort and also its really close to conveniences, ie grgery store and liquor store. Plus the bus stop is less than a block away to go downtown.

awesome hotelPosted Jan 17, 2015
we have stayed at this hotel over and over again over the years and it just keeps getting better. used to have to argue over the bill at the end every year.. this time no problem. the staff is awesome and very helpful. the hotel is very central. Costco and Walmart within a couple of blocks and the beaches at this hotel are awesome. the pools are heated and there are many hot tubs throughout the grounds. the beds are finally soft and wonderful. this hotel is well maintained and has 3 restaurants. they have entertainment on the beach some nights. they have donkey races at happy hour by the pool. fun fun place. I would highly recommend this hotel. you wont be sorry. lorna smith from canada

Repeat visitorPosted Jan 16, 2015
We have enjoyed this hotel for the last 11 years- but this year was the best. The facility has been renovated; the restaurant improved; and the service continues to be top notch! Stayed for 10 days and will do so again next January.

Old property better meant for time sharePosted Jan 11, 2015
All the people that we met at hotel had time share. Since we booked via expedia, once we reached hotel at around 4 pm, they didn't have room ready. Instead, they started sales pitch to sell us their time share plans. We got our room around 6 pm. It has an all inclusive option that expedia was selling for 50 usd per person and hotel tried to sell at 89 usd pp. Their food is not worth anything. Instead, there are many good eating places nearby. You get great food, explore and meet new people, and possible spend less money. Their staff is very friendly as are most people in town. Resort offers free kayaks and paddle boards so that is fun to try. Downtown from their location is 50 minutes walk or cheap local bus service 50 cents per person. Internet is expensiveand per device charge.

Great resort !Posted Jan 10, 2015
Not a single complaint after we stay at the Villa del Palmar for 10 days. Great food, very clean and every single staff member is working non stop to satisfy even the most exigent guests. Over 80% of customers are retired and they have the big advantage of waking up early and ocupy all the beach chairs :)

Nice hotel - as expectedPosted Jan 2, 2015
Hotel is in good condition, all construction in front are completed, pools are ok, nothing super fancy. Beach is nice, big hot tubs and 3 happy hours. Waiter stuff is super friendly and quick, prices for drinks during happy hour absolutely fair. Reception was a little slow in case of questions. Our Rooms had a small kitchen with all you need and they have a grill you can reserve for free too. Gym is nice. Location is good, everything close by and downtown taxi ride about 70 pesos. There are more luxurious places around but we got rooms to a fair price and for what we paid I recommend.

Nice hotel in PVPosted Dec 26, 2014
Pros: Close to the beach, easy taxi to downtown or anywhere in PV, food and drink reasonably priced. Had a top floor room, nice views of the pool.
Cons: View of the ocean from the room blocked by palm trees. Theme night events ran kind of late creating much noise. Property is a bit older.
Location: In the heart of the hotel district, just a short cab ride away from most attractions.
Easy check in, got a nice room location. Staff always ready to help. Pools nice, property clean. Four of us in a one bedroom suite, the pullout bed was not comfortable at all. Small kitchen but functional. Same for the bathroom. The three restaurants were better than average, if not great. Overall a good value in the mid-price range and can recommend. Did get pressed by the concierge to attend a time share presentation (45 minutes by car away) in exchange for the discount card and cash (which we declined).

hotel is close to the beach.Posted Dec 17, 2014
Pros: price and location
Cons: do not charge for internet access
Location: can walk to the marina but down town requires a cab or bus ride
the pool hot tub and restaurants are nice. the only thing that bothered me was internet was a dd on charge. some of the surrounding hotels have this for free.
