Nice PlacePosted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: the pool and facilities
Cons: food selection
Location: Las Mariettas Islands was cool, but we couldn't go to the hidden beach due to the rough seas
The resort is beautiful. It shares facilities with the Flamingo resort next door, which is a slightly less expensive place. It was nice to be able to come back over to the Estancia pool and be able to go to the Flamingo restaurants. The only complaints about this trip were 1) More food options would be nice. If you are vegetarian, your options are limited and the food was good but not great 2) don't let anyone talk you into going to the timeshare presentation. They will try and get you at the airport and at the resort. just say no. Hang out in the pool and say hi to Jorge (surprisingly pronounced George) and Felix - they are the best.

Nice suite with excellent beach accessPosted Sep 3, 2014
Pros: Very peaceful and quiet!
Cons: Menu at La Casona needs to be more varied. Add some pasta and seafood to the options. Build a luxury Italian or Japanese restaurant on site.
Location: It is far from everything.
This is very nice time-share type residence hotel. Food options are very limited but the room service is a bit better than other all-inclusive resorts. There is only one restaurant in the hotel but you can use the other dinning lower-quality options at the sister resort.

Two Hotels For the Price of OnePosted Aug 11, 2014
Pros: Level of service and personal attention. Extremely professional. General ambiance is very relaxing.
Cons: Menus at Casona, Trattoria and the pool are somewhat limited.
Location: Do not miss the Outdoor Challenge at Vallarta Adventures. It can be reserved at the hotel. 6 fun-packed hours for pre-teens, teenagers and fit adults
Great choice when traveling with kids -I took my 11-year old son-. Villas la Estancia is more upscale, very relaxing and with a personal attention to detail. When in the mood for music next to the pool, kayaks and boogie boards, and just a general sense of fun, just walk next door to the sister hotel Villa Flamingos. Staff at both hotels are extremely helpful and nice, Leo at the concierge desk, Beatriz at the spa, I could go on and on...

The hotel was clean. There is only one restaurant outside and the hours are limited, noon-6pm. The only other restaurant you have to have a reservation to get in because it is small. We made a reservation with the "butler" and he forgot to follow through with the restaurant and get us a reservation. Also, we made a reservation for a car and again the staff forgot to set it up.

Amazing Place - Will be back!Posted Aug 5, 2014
Pros: No timeshare selling. Facilities and food were absolutely top notch. Staff was great.
Cons: Wireless internet signal in the rooms. Better pillows. No one ever answered when we called for room service - multiple times.
Location: Avoid the Flamingo Hotel (sister property) next door. Everyone, including the towel guy, will try and get you to go to the "presentation"
We will be back...someday soon. It was a great experience all around. It surpassed our expectations actually. This is the place to go if you are headed to PV without a doubt. No regrets.

Beautiful view, friendliest staffPosted Aug 4, 2014
One of the newest hotels in the area. Super friendly and beautiful. Incredibly accommodating. They even let us into a room on our last day after checking out to take a shower and clean up before our flight left

Nuevo Vallarta All InclusivePosted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Beachfront location, view from the corner suite, pool, food quality, service
Cons: More food variety - the menu is the same every day at the restaurant whereas other resorts change up their menu.
Location: Nuevo Vallarta is 20 mins or so from the airport and Puerto Vallarta. We personally like this area - it was our second time to Nuevo Vallarta.
This is the first time we have ever rated anything on expedia so I hope this helps you. We booked a stay at La Estancia from July 19 to 26, 2014 ( we took the all inclusive package, one of the corner penthouse suites). As it turned out, this is a busy period for the hotel thus our arrival and first day's experience involved a series of delays from hotel check in to restaurant reservations. However, kudos to the general manager of the resort, Mr. Rodolfo Cobos and his team - he met with us to understand what the hiccups were and addressed them promptly. We noticed additional staffing by Day 2 of our stay onwards (and it was a far different experience). The rest of the stay was an exceptional experience for our family - Myself, my wife and 5 children - yes 5 kids :).
