"Great stay right on the beach"
Awesome hotel, best part was the Jacuzzi on the balcony. The staff was incredible. Adults only was a plus. French toast for breakfast was the best. We will stay here again.

We had a really good experience. Staff are very attentive. Marina is very closed this hotel. There is an Oxxo (convenient store) right in front of the hotel, so whatever you need is there.

"Friendly staff and fun! Pleasant place to stay."
Our stay started with very few people at the hotel and we loved it! The wait staff were very interactive and attentive. The facilities are good, however, need some repairs. The food was very nice. Mid week the hotel filled up and things got crazy. There were a lot of young families and also young adults who were there unchaparoned. The young people were very disruptive, drinking through the night and very loud. It didn't appear to be a concern to the staff. Many of the young people were falling down drunk and vomiting and I didn't see any of the staff intervene. In all I would stay here again, but maybe not during the down season when school is letting out.

"3.5 star all-inclusive family-friendly hotel"
This was my second time visiting Mexico and staying at Mexico all-inclusive hotel. Compared with my previous stay at Barcelo Los Cabos (4.5 star, now under Hyatt), I really enjoyed my stay at Marival. My group consisted of 3 adults, 2 kids (4 years old, 9 months old). We stayed at 2 bedroom suite. In my first visit to Barcelo, I prepaid for 1 bedroom suite, which they could not provide for the first night w/o any sincere apology and we had to spend one night at the hotel room. Luckily, it did not happen with Marival. Our check-in was smooth and we were assigned to quite 2 bedroom suite as I requested. The room was not renovated but convenient enough for five of us. I understand why this hotel was not categorized as 4 star hotel since some of luxury details are missing such as poolside service and overall maintenance of property ground. However, it was really fine with us. I guess this is as luxury as any family oriented hotels can be. Food was more authentic and even better than Barcelo's. I saw more Meixcan guests in Puerto Vallarta. I believe Marival did a good job providing a memorable experience and good service at a reasonable price.

"Best views in Puerto Vallarta"
The Grand Miramar has the best view of Puerto Vallarta without a doubt. There is literally no other hotel up higher than it is. The views are absolutely breathtaking and I have never seen anything like it. From the moment we got there we were treated like royalty by the staff - everyone was super friendly, pulling chairs out for us, helping us in and out of cabs. Check in was smooth and our room was perfect. We spent the first day in shock because it seemed like a dream. We found out that apparently we came in the off season as we were practically the only ones there all week. We saw maybe a total of 12 other guests over the whole time we were there, but we always had a pool to ourselves and usually had the restaurants to ourselves, which was different but I honestly enjoyed it. 0 waiting and we always had drinks. It isn't on the beach but there is a shuttle that runs back and forth which was cool, and a taxi down to the beach is only 70 pesos. We went one day and I would say don't plan on spending an entire day there. The waves were huge to where we couldn't really play in the water and sitting in the beach chairs apparently puts a sign over you that says "try to sell me things" because there were people walking by every 10 - 20 seconds literally trying to sell us everything from hats to cigars. We didn't go back to the beach after that because we had a lot more fun at the hotel.

We booked this hotel to spent an overnighter due to our flight itinerary, we arrived at 1pm the clerk and the bell boy were very prompt with their service and got us check in very quickly and made sure that we were all taken care of. Check out was just as easy the room itself was very spacious with a nice view of the Marina but some of its fixtures are old and should be change.

Where to stay in Puerto Vallarta

Your Guide to Puerto Vallarta Hotels

Puerto Vallarta with kids - “I'll be honest: my family typically vacations on Mexico's Riviera Maya because of the plentiful flights from Denver to Cancun; the upbeat shopping and dining scene in Playa del Carmen; and its gorgeous white sand beaches and turquoise Caribbean Sea. But to change it up a bit for our tropical vacation a couple years ago, we headed to Mexico's west coast to get to know Puerto Vallarta.

“While I still think the beaches on Mexico's Yucatan Peninsula are prettier, with much softer sand, I will say that our family trip to Puerto Vallarta didn't disappoint. The beachfront downtown ("El Centro") is easy to navigate on foot; locals were friendly and welcoming, especially to my young children; old buildings and churches, as well as cobblestone streets, add to the city's historic charm; and we found plenty of active things to do in and around the city, which is our modus operandi for most, if not all, of our family vacations.”
