Amazing small chateau on a vineyardPosted Jun 5, 2014
Pros: Location on vineyard, their wine (the Margot was the best wine we had in Bordeaux!)
Cons: Make sure guests print a map before arriving. Our in-car GPS initially brought us to the wrong location one town away.
If you're looking for a wonderful stay in the countryside, book this place! You will definitely need to be traveling car. I was traveling with 3 friends up through the countryside and booked this place for one night because we wanted to stay on a vineyard. I wish we had planned to stay longer! The staff was exceptionally nice, we arrived after check-in and the front desk made arrangement for us to pick up the key at the desk and left the light on for us. One of the waiters at the hotel kindly showed us to our unit. Our room was beautiful. It had two floors, one full size bed on the first floor and biggest bathroom I've ever seen, and the upstairs had three twin beds. We ordered a bottle of their wine (the Margot) to our room in the evening, it was spectacular! In the morning we took some beautiful pictures of the vineyards and rolling hills. Had a nice breakfast at the hotel and drove 10 minutes into St. Emilion (another place not to miss!).

Quiet stay in the vineyardsPosted May 17, 2014
Pros: Service, spaciousness and character.
Cons: Had dinner in the fairly pricey dining area the first night. It was on the thin and precious side. Three other dinners in the region were much better.
Location: Out in the country. For those who like a quiet location (we do). Easy drive to St. Emilion and Libourne; longer, doable drive to Medoc and Cap Ferret.
Stayed four nights, mostly out touring during the day and around only at night and at breakfast. Found the service good and the room spacious and full of character. Some might not care for the tilted old floor but we didn't mind and thought it was part of the package in a rambling stone structure hundreds of years old. Bathroom and other conveniences have been fully updated.

We both enjoyed our stay at the hotel. It was nice to have a toaster at breakfast. Had some difficulty finding the hotel.

great placePosted Sep 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
The first thing is you must have a car for this hotel. If you have a car it is wonderful. Well priced, amazing surroundings, exceptional service and good meals thay are reasonably priced. A great romantic getaway in a beautiful region of France.

Superb wine country location and fairly good roomPosted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
This is a beautiful small old "chateau" surrounded by vineyards . It has been restored beautifully. Though old, it was very nice with beautiful indoor/outdoor dining. Fine cuisine to be recommended. Light gets in early morning on the top floor/attic. This can be easily remedied by the owner by fixing additional curtains on both sides of the triangular feature window. The room was very spacious and facilities were very good. This is wine country with. Staff were very accomodating/helpful.

great charm but v dusty.Posted Aug 12, 2013
Pros: Style of property and food.
Cons: Poor finish to room and bit grubby.
Location: In a very rural area north of the Dordogne river.
A very attractive hotel with nice grounds and pool. However our room was not finished off.ie laminate flooring and plasterboard had been used and there was no beading or wood to cover over at bottom of wall. This is only a small job but obviously one they are not doing! Evening meal was lovely as was breakfast. My husband had to clean items in the bathroom and the place was very dusty and lacking in furniture polish but overall it was a lovely house and I would go again. Staff were very helpful.

A really lovely hostellerie with bags of charm and character. Lovely clean and spacious room with a four-poster bed looking out over the swimming pool and vineyard opposite, it really was quite delightful. The hotel restaurant was very nice: the one evening meal I had there was very good and the courtyard location was quite lovely. Breakfasts were generous too. The only criticisms I have are that the soundproofing was quite woeful, and there was no fan or air-con in the room. There is literally no breeze in this part of the world so it really was stifling!

Would have been happy to pay more.Posted Jul 20, 2013 on Hotels.com
A modestly priced stay, out in the middle of nowhere, but I would have been happy (expected, even) to pay more for an hotel of this standard and style.
