Service could be betterPosted Feb 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall it was just OK. Hotel location is very central, but the hotel service at breakfast time was vertually non-existant.

Don't stay here!Posted Jan 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
Terrible service, rude and inattentive reception. Charged us for drinks etc for other rooms which we luckily noticed and disputed. They falsely pretend you need a guide for treks that you clearly don't need a guide for ($100 per person for the guide!). The hotel is ugly and run down. More like a three star hostel.

Very basic but nicely located.Posted Feb 13, 2012
Pros: Location and views.
Cons: Lack of air conditioning and ventilation, very noisy outside day and night.
Location: Situated on Plaza de Armas facing the Magellan's statue.
This hotel is nicely located, and the staff is mostly friendly. The room had a nice view. The room itself was very basic and small, ancient TV, and, most importantly, no ventilation. Old and dirty carpet as well, though the cleaning service was doing a good job. The only way to get some fresh air was to keep the window open, but it was very noisy outside because of the kitchen fans. Also, to our surprise, apparently there was a lot of street racing activities starting around midnight, which seemed to be very close to the hotel and very noisy as well.

Excellent hotel propertyPosted Jan 5, 2012 on Hotels.com
It is beautiful. It is convenient. And the rooms are quite nice. We highly recommend it. The hotel did the best they could to make up for a flawed reservation.

Loved this hotel...made this cold and strange place very warmPosted Oct 22, 2011
OMG we loved this place. Everyone speaks English and are very helpful with everything. They give you fruit and water every afternoon. They have a wonderful brunch breakfast with an omlete center. We had a great view and the location is wonderful! Also when you arrive they give you a free drink at the bar! Can't be beat!

Chic hotel at Fin del Mundo.Posted Apr 30, 2011
At the last second, we had to stay an extra night, and they were very accommodating. The people at the desk were very helpful on a number of occasions. Breakfast was delicious, too.

Best choice in townPosted Feb 14, 2011
Punta Arenas is about 130,000 people, and is centered around the main square. Cabo de Hornos is the best hotel on the square, and is right in the main area. All the relevant activities are either bookable through the hotel or at the multiple agencies within a few blocks. Everything you would want to see is within an easy walk or within a cheap taxi ride. The only other hotel in this class is the casino hotel down by the docks, and it just doesn't have the atmosphere we wanted. Cabo de Hornos is geared to handle anything from trekking groups to businessmen, and you will see all of them speaking a dozen languages or so. Nice bar and restaurant, free breakfast buffet, free internet.

Best hotel in Punta ArenasPosted Feb 22, 2010
The hotel public areas where very nice and the staff were very helpful and friendly. There was good access to internet on their computers and our own. The bar was great to have a coffee or drink and wait for our cruise. The room was a bit utilitarian and needed refreshing but from what we saw, this is the best hotel in town and very well situated near the centre and the harbour.

Great hotel if your room is not on the Plaza side.Posted Jan 28, 2010
The room was clean, the food was fine, the bar gave good service, but the dogs at 0400 on the street outside my room were unexpected. Choose a room away from the Plaza next to the hotel. Dogs patrol the area in search of taxi cabs to chase and bark at and the noise comes through the walls with ease. In spite of this, I enjoyed this hotel. Thanks
