Very helpful staff

Even though missed breakfast still provided late breakfast and assisted with printing of tickets etc. Otherwise clean but impersonal hotel.

Nice cozy hotel

Posted Mar 4, 2014
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Don Rey Felipe for one night while en route to Puerto Natales. It is a nice cozy hotel in Punta Arenas. It is walking distance to the city center. Unfortunately, we were there on an election day and most things were closed when we went walking about looking for somewhere to eat. We were forced to dine at the hotel for both lunch and dinner, which ended up being a pleasant surprise. We both had different dishes with Centolla that warmed the belly on a cold rainy day. All in all, the rooms were very nice and spacious, the food was excellent, and the staff was very nice. I would definitely recommend Hotel Don Rey Felipe.

Ok hotel if you have to stay in Punta Arenas

Posted Nov 1, 2013
Pros: Good lounge areas, good location and dinner
Cons: Rooms needs to be updated as they are tired. Definitely need to improve the hot water system
Location: Good location for park and market and for cruise terminal
Rooms smaller than expected and quite dark. Good breakfast included and evening dinner was unexpectedly good. Need to ensure that hot water system is more reliable for those who shower after 9am

Nice Hotel, Good Location

Posted May 18, 2013
Pros: Location, staff, room, food.
Cons: The dining room should be bigger, but it was not a problem for us.
Location: Good location near the main square.
We really liked this hotel. It is nice and comfortable. The staff is very good. It's in a good location. We arrived on Buses Fernandez from Puerto Natales and easily walked the 2 blocks to Hotel Rey Don Felipe. The hotel is about 2 blocks from the main square where you can kiss the Indian's toe on the statue of Magellan to insure good business success and your return to Patagonia. The food in the restaurant is good and breakfast is good. The only negative is that the dining room is small for the size of the hotel. We were there off-season so the hotel was not full and we did not have a problem. However if the hotel is full, I don't know how the accommodate everyone in the dining room for breakfast; they must have some plan for that.
