Perfectly nice place to stayPosted Sep 6, 2013
Location: I played tennis and went to the beach.
Most things are a bit pricey on the "campus" of the hotel, but accomodations are very nice. Best to get the balcony rooms over the patio rooms.

Great hotel but service is inconsistent...Posted Aug 18, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed our vacation at this hotel as it has great amenities such as a nice beach with many water sports, pool (although it needs a jacuzzi), horseback riding, beautiful golf course, and good gym. The only drawback was the overall service across the hotel was inconsistent. Sometimes the attitude of some employees in the restaurants and pool area as well as availability of dishes or products during some meals was sub-par. I expect a higher commitment to customer delight from this type of hotel.

Beautiful resort, friendly staff, wonderful vacayPosted Jul 22, 2013
Pros: The staff made me feel very safe and welcomed during my entire stay. Grocery store at the Marina is a nice touch for snacks!
Cons: If you're going to accept USD please have appropriate change. Also, don't round to the next dollar because you don't carry any change (dollars, coins)
Location: We stayed on resort the entire time. Felt safe there. Places we went to were Altos de Chevon, la Marina, beach, pool, golf. Kept us busy for 7 days.
Our vacation for two in the Dominican began at the LaRomana airport, approximately a 5-10 minute taxi ride from Casa de Campo. There we were greeted by a member of the hotel staff holding A sign with our name on it. She did absolutely everything getting us through security there and filling out paperwork that the DR requires that costs 10$ per person. She was truly appreciated. I include this in my review because we did nothing or pay anything for this wonderful service. As an American that knows very minimal Spanish it was so helpful having someone walk with you from the moment you get off the plane to the moment you get in the taxi. We chose the outside taxi service that our greeter arranged for 25$. It was cheaper than the hotel's service. The taxi driver spoke no English but he took us exactly where we needed to go with the direction from our greeter. Once we got to the resort we were very pleased. We stayed in an elite balcony room. The room was clean and very close to the pool area. Beach was nice, it was small though. About a 10 min golf cart drive from room, we didn't mind. We would drive around and look at beautiful villas/homes. Turndown service was a nice surprise. It was like a room tidy twice a day! Food was expensive. It would be nice if they had some cheaper options. We didn't include the food inclusion. I'm glad we didn't because some of the restaurants included were closed for the off season!(midjul). Be prepared to pay 18% tax on everything.

Great for Family or CouplesPosted Apr 8, 2013
Pros: Staff (Herasmy, Roberto, Antonio, Domingo, Yonathon, Lucia)
Location: Beautiful & Tropical
This hotel & staff are absolutely amazing!! I love the "compound" feel of the expansive property and the ease of having your own golf cart for transportation. Of course, the bell staff is always available for a transfer in a van in case of rain, etc. The staff is so friendly and everyone speaks English too, which is helpful for us non-Spanish-speaking folks. The food is top-notch as well. Truly, Casa is a one-of-a-kind!!

World Class - with a few disappointmentsPosted Mar 29, 2013
Pros: Exclusive, safe (plenty of friendly security personnel), great rooms, fabulous golf courses, very helpful staff, hardly any insects , great weather.
Cons: The "not-all inclusive" package, the "average" cuisine.
Location: Getting there is a concern. Local traffic is a nightmare. Take a taxi/shuttle. Once on property you are safe. Beautiful and extensive property.
A real 5 star world class hotel, with friendly staff and great service. Room was beautiful. Restaurants and bars very classy. Very nice beach - but a little crowded at peak times. Pools are the same. Golf courses are world class, and this must rate as one of the best golf resorts anywhere. Course conditions were superb, and views from Teeth of the Dog and Dye Fore were spectacular. There was hardly a divot or plug mark anywhere. A golfer's paradise. Downside on the golf is the 9 minute gaps between tee-times. Too short a time for courses of this difficulty, and the rounds can be slow - despite excellent assistance from caddies. They should consider 10 or 12 minutes gaps, which would reduce frustration. Food was a mixed bag. Breakfast was excellent, with good choices and plenty for even the biggest appetite. After that it is not in the same class as the hotel, and can only be described as "disappointing". The service is not the issue - nor the ingredients - it is the actual cooking. Perhaps I was spoiled on my last visit to Barbados, but the cooking there was world class - like London or Hong Kong. Casa de Campo restaurants would not last long in Orlando ! Another disappointment was the "all-inclusive" package. With 14 dishes on the dinner menu that required a "supplement", this is certainly NOT "all-inclusive". I can also understand that certain premium alcoholic drinks are not included, but there was no local sparkling water, so Perrier and other imports were $11 a bottle.

Excellent for an active getawayPosted Dec 11, 2012
Casa de Campo is a beautiful resort and perfect for an active getaway. Golf, horse back riding, shooting range - lots to do. The beach is a bit of a shortcoming though.

Great for golf loversPosted Dec 4, 2012
Pros: How nice the staff was
Cons: No ocean views from the room
Location: Easy to get to. La romana airportis the closest
The people who work at the hotel are ultra nice. In every area from desk staff to housekeeping to the restaurant staff. Golf lovers would love this place. It has 3 great golf courses. My husband and I went with another couple. None of us play golf, but we kept busy. We went to the beach(which you need to take a golf Cart to) we stayed by the pool, visited alto de chevon, skeet shooting, visited the marina shopping area. It was a lot of fun. Every room gets a golf cart and that's how you get around. At first I thought it would be annoying but it ended up being a lot of fun. My only negative is that none of the rooms have an ocean view. Only golf course view.
