Just Wow!Posted Aug 24, 2014
Cons: More traditional food.
Location: Saona Island Tour is the only one worth the money. Also there is a market near the hotel if you walk thru the beach, they have beautiful cheaper stuff
We got there before check in time (3pm) and the gentleman in the front showed us the hotel and invited us to the Adults Only Catalonia Royal since they had an upgrade offer. We loved it! and upgraded our 6 night stay for $30 more each night. This Adults only hotel is paradise: extremely quiet, yet fancy and modern with a sexy touch. We were able to go back and forth to the other hotel since they are next to each other and had access to both hotel's restaurants and amenities. On both hotels they have great services, and if you give them tip you are treated almost like the owner. Please be aware that many of the staff people speak poor English, so be open to learn Spanish lol. We were very pleased with everyone especially Carlos from the pool bar @ adults only. Also the best restaurants are the Thailand one right next to the pool and Spanish one next to the fountain near the beach. Both hotels have beach parties o the sand once a week, DO NOT MISS IT!!!! we had a blast! Overall great experience and lovely people.

Very nice hotelPosted Aug 24, 2014
Pools were very nice, hotel staff was very helpful. Room was nice. Worth the upgrade to the adults only side. Restaurants were tasty when cooking foods native to the islands. Sometimes their interpretations of other national foods were not up to par. But overall we were pleased with our stay and will be staying at this resort again.

Nice large hotel ! Villa type! SpaciousPosted Aug 9, 2014
The resort itself is beautiful! The buffet are the best , only thing is that some food is repeated and if u are staying a week, u are bored on the second third day!!! Nothing bad to say about this hotel, except that I had a leak in my bathroom coming from the 2nd floor, reported it and no one came to fix it!!! I think this resort in the overall deserves a 5 star!

Awesome vacation!Posted Aug 7, 2014
Pros: 1. The resort crew were extremely helpful and nice. 2. The abundance of entertainment/fun activities 3. The room was clean and comfortable
Cons: For one, the quality of food could be improved. It wasn't all bad but it could be better. Also, the wifi was not consistently working.
Location: They had excursions to other beaches nearby, Imagine Cave (club inside a cave), swimming with dolphins, wildlife excursions.
The resort had so many activities going on that we never had nothing to do. Whether it was at the pool playing water polo or the beach doing beach aerobics, we never had a dull moment. The pool was great (swim-up bar was excellent) and the beach was absolutely breathtaking. The entertainment crew were always happy and put all the guests in a great mood. The food was not amazing but there were some good food items (pineapple juice and chocolate ice cream!). I went on vacation with my long time boyfriend and it was exactly what we needed to experience the Dominican Republic. I would definitely bring my future children here. Getting the airport transportation through Expedia was worth it because we had a representative at the resort who we could go to if we needed anything. We went off the resort twice and both excursions were properly organized and were a lot of fun! I recommend Adventure Boogies for the adventurous people out there! They had fun activities for kids all the time and the theater at night was entertaining for both adults and kids. I would most certainly recommend this resort to everyone!

Nice experiencePosted Aug 7, 2014
Great resort worth the money, be sure to get the royal service because that's the top service and worth the extra pennies. I would say they need to improve food quality had to search for a good meal but the japenese steak house hibachi style was decent and the pool side Thai restaurant was good. Other then that awesome resort.

Too far from beach if your not a preferred member.Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: The beach
Cons: Improve the cleanliness. The lack of hospitality and service.
Location: Nothing close by. You must take an excursion to see anything.
We were very disappointed with this hotel. Having traveled to Dominican Republic for the past 20 years, we have a good idea of what is expectable. This hotel, aside from it's beautiful beach. Was not good. Entertainment was less than exceptable, food was at best tolerable, hospitality from employees, much to be desired. Would never recommend to friends and family. Front desk was rude, not helpful.

Accodations good but food experience was not good - much improvement needed in check in & out services - caution should be taken when booking excursions - scuba booked & instructor didn't show & had hastle getting refund
