Great all inclusive resort

My husband and I could not have had a better honeymoon. The food and drinks were amazing. We loved the views down by the beach and of the pools. The room was very nice, our air conditioner didn't make the room very cool which would be our only complaint.

Overall not a 5 star hotel. I would probably rate it more like a 3-4 star hotel. Grounds are nice and Staff were very friendly. A/C went out on day 3 but was fixed in a timely manner. Water went out a couple of times but came back on within 15-20minutes. Hotel gym needs more equipment. Equipment is pretty dated. Food quality not very good. Breakfast was probably the best meal. 3 people in our group got food poisoning from their beach BBQ party (probably from the burgers). Beach was full of sea weed. The staff try to clean it out but there's tons of it that they can't keep up. We weren't able to get in the water due to so much sea weed. Not much of activities to do on the adult side of the resort. Pretty quiet. Overall, we had a good time but would not stay at same resort again.

Excellent service and amazing facilities. We love the "pica pollo" at Yuca restaurant.

Wifi is not available. Room AC did not work efficiently. No hot water. Beach was not clean.

El hotel podría ser mejor para el hecho de que es Royal sin embargo es muy bueno Salvo por el hecho de que hay cosas que te venden (por ejemplo la langosta y el catamaran)

Would recommend to friends - good food

Pros: Restaurants and food quality
Cons: Free transportation to-from airport
We stayed at Catalonia Royal Bavaro for 4 nights. We booked this trip as a short getaway trip. We really had a good time there. There is a wide variety of restaurants that you can choose such as tapas, bar and grill, pizzeria, etc. The staff is friendly and accommodating.

Wonderful Honeymoon

Pros: The staff, lots of options.
We just got back from our trip to RD and can't say enough great things about this hotel and RD in general. The hotel staff are amazing and really go out of their way to make make you feel welcome. Food was great. We found we could lounge at the beach or party it up at the pool bar, whatever we felt like doing that moment. Wouldn't hesitate to go back.

Great Hotel but lousy service

Pros: Clean rooms and they had a natural juice bar

Location: Adventure Island
I gave this resort a 3 star based on the lousy service that was provided. The staff is constantly trying to sell you something and that was the only time they were friendly. It seems like they are either overworked or unhappy serving you. I have been to other resorts in Punta Cana and by far this resort had the worst customer service possible! The room was clean and comfortable. The food was not all that great. Honestly, I will never go back to this resort. As for the beach it's full of rocks, however there were lots of shade and plenty of beach chairs.

Nice Hotel - More for couples

Pros: The staff was amazing, decent food choices, very nice hotel.
Cons: The beach at this resort - BEWARE. It is not what you think of about the crystal clear blue waters and soft white sand. has none of the above.
Location: Location is pretty good. About 20 min from airport and has nearby shopping areas out of resort. Excursions are close by.
Went here on vacation with my family (2 kids aged 21,23 and wife). Overall hotel was very nice, clean, staff is excellent and always pleasant. However there were numerous problems with me and my wifes room, none with the kids room. We stayed at the Royal adults only side of the resort and it is more of a couples resort in my honest opinion. Not many activities, but you have access to the family portion of the resort so that compensates.
