“Great resort for price! Made our honeymoon perfect!”
My husband and I went on our honeymoon to Dreams Palm Beach. We chose it because of the reasonable price and 2 recommendations from friends. We were very happy with the service - from check-in to room service to bartenders, entertainment staff and waiters - all were so friendly and accomodating, especially Gasolina (entertainment), Marcia (cocktail waitress), Tony (buffet) and Tito (Seaside Gril). The room was very clean, towels and mini-bar restocked twice daily. Our only issue in the room was the ants that would not go away. They notified us that they were bug spraying one morning, but the ants stayed even after that. I know it's just from the tropical climate and the hotel can only do so much about it, but it got a bit annoying by the last day. The food is very good, typical buffet food and resort food. Our favorite restaurant was the Seaside Grill, where we ate 3 times. Best food, service and atmosphere there, since it's right on the beach. There is a bit of seaweed on the beach, but they're great with sweeping it up and it doesn't smell or attract bugs, like the seaweed I'm used to. We walked 20 minutes to the left of the resort down the beach and found a beautiful, no-resort, crystal clear water, no seaweed stretch of beach. I would highly recommend taking the short walk there. The water was so calm and we had the beach and ocean to ourselves! Overall, we would go back and really enjoyed our stay.
“Best Small Resort in Punta Cana”
Service was excellent and always with a smile. The resort is smaller than usual Punta Cana hotels, but very comfortable. 3 pools including one with Jacuzzi. Pool for small children surrounded by lawn chairs for parents is wonderful. Nice, clean beach with plenty of shade and places to relax. 5 restaurants and one buffet in the middle of resort, plus grill by the beach. Overall good, clean, fun place to relax.
“Can't wait to go back again!”
Our experience at Dreams Palm Beach Punta Cana was great. The entire staff was friendly and accommodating. Everything was clean and quite orderly. We recommend this to anyone who is looking for a relaxing get away with the family. Our only regret was our time was too short to get everything in...so we will return for a longer visit next time.
“Wonderul Vacation”
Very pleased with our stay @Dreams Palm Beach. The hotel grounds are beautiful, staff was excellent overall. Loved our room, disappointed in the musty smell but assumed if that could be avoided it would be done, room was very clean overall. Pools were inviting, beachfront was excellently maintained everyday, no troubles with seaweed that I ever saw- stayed 9 days. A few things warrant a complaint such as the staff in brown trying to sell Spa package &sign up for future Dreams stays but got good at telling them No Thanks and that was pretty much done, didn't love the constant approach by them though or the poolside Vendors- pretty annoying Food was very good, loved El Patio most, World Buffet could offer more variety on different days but overall good. Drinks were great and staff was pretty good at being there to bring another Really enjoyed the Entertainment every night- Good Shows Last thing that maybe shouldn't reflect on Dreams but I did buy the package there: DO NOT buy HORSE BACK riding package, went with another couple and we were all disgusted how skinny our horses were, we felt pretty bad riding on them. I will be finding the website of RANCHO EL DIFF TO COMPLAIN
“Fool me once”
Was not impressed. Shower/tub was nothing like pictured. Shower had one piece of glass, no shower curtain or doors so water sprayed all over the floor. Shower head kept falling and pointing towards wall so you couldn't take a shower comfortably besides trying not to get all the water on the floor. Refrigerator was broken had to call to replace approx. 1 hour. Remote control was broken two calls to get someone to come took 2 hours to replace. Staff kept pestering about going to talk to them about time share. Staff pushy about getting involved in poolside activities. Restaurants and buffet were excellent. So so nightly shows, Poolside movie was excellent. Liquor was watered down and most of the tropical drinks were not freshly made but from concentrate. Not what I was expecting to get from an island with fresh fruits all around as I have gotten from other hotels in Punta Cana. Beach had a lot of seaweed and many outsiders selling on the beach. Gym was so small I had to step out to change my mind. 3 or more in the gym made it claustrophobic. Luckily I had a room towards center of building because after a strong rain the areas around the outer walls were flooded. Not sure if those rooms were flooded also. This hotel is definitely not a 4 star it is at most a 3.5 star.
“Great Hotel for a first time All-inclusive”
This was our first time to an all-inclusive. To say the least we are hooked. Mostly everything was like or better than we imagined. 15 mins from the airport (for more than 2 people, take a taxi, $25). People are very friendly. Within a day we were greeted by name everywhere on the resort. Preferred club is not really worth the additional cost. We were in bldg 6, 3rd floor. Typical hotel room with a king bed and there was enough room for 2 single beds for the kids. 3rd floor has the elevated ceiling so it feels roomier. Other than that the rooms are nothing special and that ok since the best parts of this resort are outside (pool, beach, bars, non-stop entertainment and restaurants). The pools were nice, not too chlorinated, one is a little bit lower temp than the other. The beach was ok too. The seaweed does kind of get annoying. A short walk to the left of the hotel gives you almost deserted clean beach and water. Great for pictures. The bars serve great drinks except they couldn't make mojitos for some reason. The entertainment includes fun activities like competitions, various beach sports, exercise, and games. There are also nightly shows like a traveling circus. The food in the restaurants and buffet is delicious and sometimes exotic. We enjoyed our two-week stay and would come back again.
“Smaller but very nice!!”
One of the smaller resorts that we have been to in Punta Cana but very nice! It may get a little crowded during the busy season but not bad in October. The entertainment staff does an excellent job, especially Candy Man & Gasolina!! Dining had some very good options and it's nice that reservations are not required. Overall a great stay!!
“Wonderful vacay”
The rooms could use updating, the food was amazing, the excursions we went on were awesome! Definitly do the snorkeling trip that includes swimming with sharks and sting rays, the boogies, and fishing all fun at a good price. Massages at the spa are also a must, and they have great deals. Not too many kids, the pool bar was always fun but the disco could be better.
“Disappointed.. Third time to Punta Cana on anniversary”
This resort's beach & water was full of seaweed & the bottom was full of coral. We stayed at Paradisius in Punta Cana & the beach was amazing. I actually came home this time with tons of Sandflea bites! First time ever! I'm sure due to all the seaweed. The resort itself wasn't that bad. It was much smaller than we are used to, but it was kinda nice not to have to walk a mile to go to dinner.. The food was very good. DO NOT waste your money on staying in the "Preferred Club" section. The "private pool" is tiny & when we were there it was over run with kids, and no where for us to get away from them. THE only difference was the beach towels we got were Yellow & the "regular side" were blue.. The room was dated- the dresser had a cracked drawer. We were put in a building away from the Preferred side, but had a very nice ocean view from our balcony.. One REALLY weird thing was that none of their "oceanview" rooms have King sized beds. We ended up with a room with 2 beds.... I guess we expected more since we spent the extra money
“Ok for the price- spend $150 more per person on nicer place”
Dreams PB was an OK hotel. Pros:The staff was extremely nice & did what they could to help. They even allowed us to eat lunch at one of the restaurants after we checked out and while we were waiting for our transfer to the airport. The hotel was close to the airport. So the trip was short- about 20 mins. The preferred beach was not crowded, and gorgeous. Calm waters. Book a snorkeling trip with Francois. Room was clean, housekeeping was thorough. Cons: We paid for the Preferred club ocean view room which was in Bldg 4, but the room was pool view NOT ocean view. We did get a PEEK of the ocean through some tree branches. So I guess that qualified. They offered to move us to Bldg 5 but it didn't look any better. The Mexican restaurant had great tomatillo salsa and every restaurant that offered calamari prepared it deliciously, but that's where my praises end on the food. The food was just ok and best described as bland. Portions were tiny & one of my desserts was COVERED in tiny little ants. Skip the World Cafe. Italian, French, and Japanese restaurants are NOT A/C- no matter what they tell you. Service was SLOW. Italian rest. took over an hour to deliver food. Beach grill on nonpreferred side offered only hamburgers (30% gristle, 70% "hamburger" meat) and hotdogs. Top shelf liquor non-existent. God forbid you ask for Crown & Coke. Sheets always feel damp & clothes never really dry out. There is a lot of seaweed but DR Parks & Rec are out every day trying to clean it.
