“Over all a pretty good experience”
Hotel staff is very friendly. Accommodations are very nice. Kinda far from town but the beach was very nice.
“Nice Beach, Good Food, Poor Service”
We stayed October 4 to 12,2011 Nobody greets us with Champaign upon our arrival; instead, we were in line to check-in for 30 min. When we got to our room 5301, I discovered that we don’t have: robes, slippers, hangers, soap and remote control for TV. Our safe didn’t work. In 5 minutes I called to a concierge. 3 hours later-nothing. Did you say it’s a 5 star hotel? I went to hunt for soap and hangers. Likely for me the cleaning supervisor was in a hallway, and she helped me with this. Two days later I called again about my safe. The concierge told me that he can send somebody to repair it, but I should be in a room all the time. “No way,” I replied. “This is your problem. I didn’t break it, and I am not wasting couple hours of my vacation to fix it. If you’re afraid that this guy will still from me, then send a security officer with him.”This is I can’t tolerate. Cleaning and bar services are stopping by without my permission couple times a day. I think, they just make this more complicated than it should be. Anyway, he can send somebody with this repair man. Do you still think that this is a five star hotel? The beach and pools was very good. Food was excellent. Not going to return.
“Not what we expected”
We choose this resort, for our one yr. wedding anniversary, because we spent our honeymoon, at DREAMS in Cabo, Mexico. Which was FANTASTIC!!!! I would NOT go back to Dreams in Punta Cana. The food was not good, the service was below average. and the most important thing, it was not wheelchair friendly. I had called the resort 2 twice before we left. When we got there, our room was on the second floor. no elevators!!! All the honeymoon suites and "better" rooms are upstairs. We were moved 3 times to get a "satisfactory" room. Communication, was difficult. Unless, you know SPANISH VERY WELL it is VERY VERY difficult to communicate.
“Not what expected for a 4 star hotel.”
My husband and I were very disappointed with the pool, it would have been nice to know before we arrived at the hotel that only half the pool was opened, we would have booked a different hotel. This hotel advertises 24 hour room service, my husband called 5:30 a.m. for coffee, he was told that they were too busy setting up for breakfast to bring us coffee. We also had problems getting fresh towels on some days. For the positive, the hotel was clean, the entertainment staff was great and worked hard. The front desk staff was professional and pleasant.
“Dreams”
Great hotel WONDERFUL staff and very clean. Only thing that I would say is that not all of the resturants are open every night and I wish I had known that.
“Can't wait to go back, planning for next year already”
I’m already planning my next vacation. I had the most incredible time. Hotel, food, and drinks everything is great. Everyone is happy and glad to help you… awesome time.
“Great Entertainment”
Unfortunately Irene dampened our stay, but we still found plenty to do even with the beach closed for several days. Food great! Entertainment staff were great. Would consider going back.
“Don't go to this resort”
I just came back from this hotel a week ago. This Dreams resort is not the best hotel compared to other Dreams hotels. The beach is dirty with a lot of seaweed we couldn't get in the water, the food sucked, most of the restaurants were closed during our stay and we were stuck eating the same food from the buffet everyday. We tried the mexican el patio and the food was not good, the japanese restaurant was ok. There are no activities on the beach at this hotel like jet skiing. There is no air conditioner in this hotel except for the bedrooms which are very small with uncomfortable pillows. If you are looking to stay at a resort with white sand beach and clear blue water this is not the hotel to go to go. If you are planning your wedding at this resort, please think about it. The wedding coordinator double booked the place for the reception and my friends wedding started almost 2 hours late. She didn't get what she asked or paid for. The service is ok, some of the staff at the front desk do not have the best attitude. I wouldn't go to this resort again. The dreams in Bayahibe, in La Romana is much better than this Dreams in Punta cana. I do not recommend this hotel.
“Can we DREAM Forever?”
Our stay at Dreams Punta Cana (Uvero Alto) was absolutely our best vacation yet. My wife and our seven year old son had an amazing time, and the staff everywhere was top notch. Everyone, and I mean everyone, greeted you with a smiling "Hola!" everywhere you went. The layout of the resort is amazing, with a massive pool that winds it's way down from the lobby to the beach, with plenty of ammenities, food, bars, and attractions along the way. Somehow, our room got upgraded from a normal deluxe room to a suite, complete with a walk-in closet, double sinks, robes and slippers, and a jacuzzi out on the patio, all at no extra charge. The staff there really took care of us. The buffet at the World Cafe restaurant was amazing every day, and the five or six other restuarants were pretty good as well. The food itself wasn't the greatest, but the atmosphere and service made up for it. We were slightly disappointed that the Japanase Hibachi wasn't open for a couple of the nights while we were there, and that kids couldn't go to the Italian restarant. The shows and the entertainment staff were amazing. With all the shows and activities, you would never get bored. We loved the Core Zone, with foosball, ping pong, pool, rock wall, mechanical bull, trampoline, archery, Xbox, basketball courts... The beach was a little rough and rocky, but there were plently other activities there as well. I would definitley recommend this as an awesome family vacation destination!
“Good service but bad beach and AC”
I just come back from dreams and now I understood why the reviews are not consistent. The hotel has some good people to run it. The service is good and clean. It is a 5 stars service in a 3 stars hotel. The main problem is the AC. If you stay in top floor, it is too hot to sleep. Secondly, it is the beach. It is not your dream tropical beach. It has a lot of seaweed and the water is not clear. The workers tried to clean it all the time but did not help much. If beach and room comfort are your main concern, stay away. If price and services are your priority, it is a deal. The dancers do put up a good show every night.
