Nice Hotel lookPosted Nov 26, 2013
Pros: The look of the whole resort and layout.
Cons: The food and drinks could be improved.
Location: Soana and Catalina Islands are very close to the resort as well as caves to explore!
Our Stay in Bahai Principe LaRomana was a good time! The staff and service was excellent they were there to make sure you had a good experience. They had a lot of activities to keep you entertained all day. Entertainment was excellent very similar to the RIU. Food was pretty good. Beach was clean and looked amazing! Only problem is the ocean is not as clear due to the location of the resort within a nearby river.

Beautiful and SecludedPosted Oct 30, 2013
This hotel grounds was beautiful. So many beautiful trees and flowers. Loved the swim up bar at the pool! The staff was very friendly and many of them spoke English. Lots of fun activities during the day. However, the nighttime entertainment was pretty dull. Food was good- lots of choices but nothing amazing. Our room was comfortable and clean. Be aware: The hotel is an hour and a half cab drive from Punta Cana airport!!!!! Nowhere on their website does The resort let you know there because I think it would deter travelers from staying there. It cost us hundred and $150 cash to take a taxi from the airport to the resort-- we were certainly not prepared for that. I suggest that you get airport transfers in advance save some money.

AwesomePosted Oct 27, 2013
The resort is beautiful. If you speak English a lot of the workers don't speak much at all. The food is pretty good and the drinks are very delicious. Lots of fun

A good find.Posted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: Thankfully there was not alot of fried food.
Cons: The evening entertainment can be improved.
Location: We didn't leave the complex.
We were thankful to celebrate our 20 yrs. of marriage in style. Having previously experienced a Bahia Principe in Mexico, we were hopeful that the brand would hold true. We were not disappointed. Going during the offseason also made it more pleasurable because there was just more room to be alone.

Pros: CLEANLINESS, HOSPITALITY, FRIENDLINESS

Best Vacation We've Ever HadPosted Sep 12, 2013
Pros: Loved how beautiful the trees/flowers/pool/beach looked. They were very well kept up by the staff.
Cons: Solicitations need to go. If you say no once, you should be left alone for the rest of your stay.
Location: We did not leave the resort. We heard DR is not the safest place to go explore as tourists.
This resort would get 5+ stars except for the constant solicitation by the non-resort staff members who try to get you to buy everything from timeshares to excursion tickets to spa services, etc. They are parked right by the entrance to the dining hall and the activity people roam the pool area so you have to pretend to be asleep to get them to leave you alone. The good news is, if you say, no thank you, they will walk away. The bad news is, you want to be left alone on vacation. I don't want to gloss over how AMAZING this resort is besides that. We were willing to get past this one bad aspect and fully enjoy everything the resort had to offer. Rooms were amazing with our balcony overlooking both the pool and the ocean. Every morning our sheets were made and fresh flowers placed on the bed. The workers are constantly, day and night, manicuring the lawns and making sure the foliage, pool, everything are clean and top-notch. The private beach is beautiful and quiet, whereas the pool has activities galore going on around it. This is the kind of place where the guests actually jump up and participate in so many of the activities that the "Animation Team" (Entertainment coordinators) have to offer - from water aerobics to ping pong to beach volleyball to dance lessons - the team is great at getting people involved and putting smiles on their faces. You can choose to watch or participate - it doesn't matter, it's so fun to do either.

Power outagesPosted Sep 11, 2013
Pros: Pool was nice and Juckson & Ricardo were very nice and spoke English well.
Cons: Need more things to do and a nice place to go shopping for your souvenirs.
The place was very pretty but lots of problems, power out everyday 4 to 6 times and loss of water & hot water smell like sewage a lot of times. Food pretty to look at but not much taste. It is set for Spanish speaking or French. All the shows are a joke my grandchildren put on better shows than they have. Glad we went with good friends and what few Americans we meet to have a good time.

stay away from the tour operatorsPosted Sep 9, 2013
Pros: our view from the second room we were put in first one was behind a giant tree.
Cons: tour operators
Location: take the dune buggy ride but bring water for the 20 or so kids you will stop and see at the local school when you stop for a break
wrong transportation from the airport in a foreign country (great) stuck 2 hours away with our blue transportation at a different airport (wonderful) no body seems to care. price gouging at the tour operators desk as well as bad mouthing the others on the property to make a sale. commisioned sales people i guess. plenty more to say but this review will probably never make it to the website im sure. good luck
