Nice hotel, good vacation, relaxing

Posted Jul 1, 2015
Hotel was very nice. Our room did have some details that require some maintenance (shower door hinges particularly), however nothing too concerning. Hotel is VERY big, if you include all four areas (Bavaro, Punta Cana, Palace & Turquesa), each with it's own restaurants, bars & pools. All accessible by mini-train (Disney-ish style). We enjoyed all the pools and buffet restaurants (surprisingly good food), however some a la carte restaurants were too busy. Tip: be at these restaurants way before 6pm. Staff was very friendly, we were always greeted nicely, even by maintenance staff. Disco was very entertaining. Sports bar could have been better. Beware of some pushy souvenir sellers around the pool areas some days of the week (they do not take No for an answer). Overall we enjoyed this hotel and would definately stay again when we travel back to Punta Cana.

Front desk poorly organized.

Posted Jun 30, 2015
Check in was fairly prolonged. We were assigned several rooms that were already occupied. Once our room situation was clarified, there were several problems with the rooms, including a broken telephone. Although the buffet meals had plenty of food, they lacked the diversity and easy accessibility that we had on our previous visit. The pools and bars were very fun. The bartenders were sometimes very helpful, and sometimes non existent. We will probably not be returning to the Grand Palladium.

Good but have been to better

Resort grounds are nice and upkept, staff was great, food was horrible, buffets are limited compared to others I have stayed at. The ala cartes were not great and to get in to one is an organized mess. There is a no reservations policy so it's first come first serve which means you have to cut your day short to stand in line to put your name in around 5:30 and then wait around for an hour or so to get a table. I thought 6 out of 7 were awful and I am not a food snob! As for the pools they were nice however they needed some tlc there are chunks of missing tiles all over the pools which didn't truly bother me but surprises me that they don't fix since they do take great care of there grounds. One big problem for me is all the pools are over my head! I know I am short lol I am only 5 ft tall all the pools were 5'2 to 6 ft one pool even deeper other then small sections of 3 ft neat the swim up bars. Overall not a bad resort but compared to others I have stayed at in the same price range this one is at the bottom. Also good luck getting a trolley to get around they are suppose to come every 20 minutes but we could never seem to catch one so plan on doing a lot of walking because this place is massive. As for drinks, they were good if you got them at a regular bar but the swim ups are very limited to frozen cocktails and do not have blenders they have a pina colada machine and a banana mama machine with no alcohol so when they add the booze it makes them not frozen anymore.

Staff treatment superb. Amenities perfect.

My girlfriend and I just returned from our trip to Punta Cana. We stayed at the Bavaro of the Grand Palladium. Overall the hotel staff was really nice. They treat you well even if you don't hold a timeshare membership or have Royal wristbands. Their are many a la carte restaurants to choose from. Our favourite is the Mexican resto near the front lobby. I recommend any visitor to stay at the Bavaro. They have live concerts and entertainment. They have a disco (club) on the resort. As Punta Cana is not a very safe place to leave the resort (from others experience and ours) this hotel is one of the best and we'll worth your time and money. I will add, the beaches are really clean and close by. They allow kayak rentals for 1hr per day and mini katamaran boats. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time and would recommend the Grand Palladium Bavaro to anyone.

Great hotel

Posted May 30, 2015
It was the first time we had gone to a hotel with our one year old baby girl. The hotel is great for families, they have an awesome baby and kids club for kids from 1 to 12 years, so you can have some time for yourself. The food is very good and they have a variety of restaurants. The hotel complex area is very big, you will ealk a lot, there are a lot of things going on for people of all ages. There is also a lot of birds for the kids to watch. The only thing is that, the rooms could be update a bit more, although it has everything you could need. Staff is great, very friendly. Will definitely go back, soon.

Mediocre hotel

Overall an average resort. If you have never been to a Punta Cana resort you may rate the resort higher. It just didn't give me that wow factor. To me, the standards weren't set as high as our previous experiences at Grand Bahia Esmeralda. The food was decent, disappointed in the quality of the a la carte restaurants, staff wasn't the most eager to assist and the resort needs some cleaning up and updates. Of course being in Punta Cana it's always as great time, but would recommend Grand Bahia over the Grand Palladium.

Very nice hotel, rooms were large, clean and comfy

Posted May 22, 2015
Pros: the rooms, the beach and my son loved the pirate ship pool area.
Cons: Staff's attitude towards everyone. Cleanliness of the pools.
Location: We were perfectly content with beach and pools. Did not take any excursions or leave the resort.
Hotel location and rooms were great. The beach was very nice as well. The staff seemed annoyed by anyone and everyone. The wait staff at the al a carte restaurants was awful! You are told when you check in that no reservations are required, yet if you don't stand in line at 530pm to make a reservation they look and treat you like garbage when you dare to come to the restaurant without one. After two similar awful experiences at different restaurants we didn't want the nasty service to ruin the rest of our vacation, we just ate at the buffets which were pretty good with minimal staff interaction. Overall we had a nice and restful vacation, but we realized that through out it we kept comparing everything to our previous vacation in Mexico which was 100% more fun and memorable. I prefer to spend my money on a vacations where i don't have to stress about ppl taking out their daily life/work aggravations on me and my 2yr old.
