Cons: Would be better if waiters and staff could speak and understand English.
Good time rooms were clean staff were friendly. Service could have been better in the Mexican restaurant.

Great Stay

Was here for a friends wedding. We received an upgrade when we got there to the "Royal Suites" which was nice, but didn't really use It as we were there with friends. Hotel staff were friendly and did not encounter any that were otherwise. Room was nice, not amazing-our AC leaked water onto the floor but we were only there to sleep, so not a big deal. Room was kept nice and clean and stocked up. Ate at mostOf the buffets, typical food... Not Bad but not great. The beach was crowded but nice, lots of Places to lay down and easy access food and beverages. Overal what I expected!! Would definitely go back.

We stayed for 10 days over Thanksgiving in Building 17 in a Luxury Suite which has a large bedroom and a second floor balcony with a hot tub and sun bed. There is no view of the ocean from this building (as is shown in the room example on-line). The Good: Beautiful grounds Great housekeeping in rooms Do not have to make reservations for speciality restaurants Wait service around pool The Bad: The beach and the ocean has tons of sea weed in it. Ocean was very rough. Hit or miss as far as service in bars and restaurants. No beach drink service at palapas. Food not very good in speciality restaurants. Much better food at buffets. Resort is very spread out The wait to get in a specialty restaurant was between 30-90 minutes each night Check-in was a nighmare

MAGNIFICENT RESORT!

Me & my fiance are 25 yrs old. We are Extremy HAPPY with our stay at this resort. The Resort is very clean, nice, fancy & comforting. The staff were very friendly, and showed great hospitality. Anytime we needed anything, they were there to help. You will feel welcome as soon as you step in the lobby. The Food was Great! so many choices... The buffets are Delicious, the restaurants are good, My favoritee was "Steak House" The beach is absolutely amazing, with off white sand & aqua Blue water... The pools were great & clean... we had lots and lots of fun with the resorts activities (beach, pool parties) We stayed for 5 days, 4 nights. wished it would have been longer!

Our time there was wonderful. The staff was outstanding. The food was great, lot of different kinds. The hotel is beautiful and a lot of things to do. They keep everyone having fun, and interested. Nothing but good things to say about this hotel

Beautiful suites; great beach

Pros: Beautiful grounds, very helpful staff, and the superb beach area.
Cons: The selection of day trips and excursions available could be improved.
Location: Shopping; water-oriented excursions: diving, snorkeling, fishing, eco tours etc.
Resort grounds were strikingly beautiful, well maintained. Beach was picturesque. Staff were helpful, friendly. Food was plentiful and quite good, especially the tapas restaurant. Resort was the picture of a tropical paradise. Suite was spacious, well-appointed, and luxurious.

The staff at the pirate pool was very kind and pool was very clean.. Maid service was very good.. I was disappointed that there was no wash cloths.

Ants in the room. Several maintenance issues that they resolved....but only temporality. Its a 4 star resort....you get what you pay for. Lots if walking as this resort is really spread out. Verizon cell phones will not work in the DR for calls or texts. 30 people were here for wedding. We were all spread out everywhere. Very hard to communicate times, activities and dinner with only land line communication. If rooms could've been together we wouldn't have had such a problem. Everyone had room issues. The honeymoon suite had an outdoor rooftop jacuzzi that didn't even work. We just expected more.

Average service, beautiful facilities

Beautiful resort! A bit spread out, be prepared to walk 5-7 minutes to ANYwhere. The open air lobby looks magnificent, but could really benefit from some better ceiling fans like the theater has as its not climate controlled. No room service option and the unreasonable demands of wearing long pants for men (even if it was pajama pants- I'm serious) to eat in the restaraunts in sweltering heat really got old. Women faired better coming in the shortest of shorts and again I emphasize that I witnessed men in track pants, pajama pants and sweat pants but my khaki shorts were turned away. Plan accordingly. The room was beautiful and kept very cool by the AC, but the toilet fixture was broken upon arrival and repeatedly set back into place. We had ants in the bathroom. And we never received wash clothes the entire stay. They stock the mini refrigerator daily (but skipped is one day of the week) The beach was amazing!! Soft white sand, awesome blue green water. Loved the pool as well! The bar staff was inexperienced save one bartender, Raina. No one else knew what a Shirley Temple or other familiar drinks (even in the carribean) were. On more than one occasion in the restaurants and bars when thanking the staff en español, they simply replied "Ok." Being accustomed to travel to the Carribean after 10 trips, this was odd as most other resorts really emphasized "it's my pleasure" or a bear minimum "de nada" Overall an amazing week away with more positives than not
