Great ResortPosted Dec 26, 2014
The resort and the staff was great. Anything that we asked for, we got. The food in these all inclusive places are usually just ok, but the food here was actually pretty good (not a 5 star restaurant, but still very good). We were a little further from the beach at the Ambar 2, but the trolley came every 2-3 minutes and got is to the beach in about 1 minute which was great.

Luxurious and affordable resortPosted Dec 23, 2014
With the price we paid, I really don't know how the hotel can make money. Room is 4 to 5 star hotel level with Jacuzzi and balcony. Great food and alcohol. Ambar is a privileged section that enjoys better resource than the lower priced section. To pay extra here is well worth it.

Great all-inclusive experiencePosted Dec 22, 2014
Pros: It's very large with lots to do and adults only
Cons: The food quality and variety could be improved
Location: The location is perfect. The water at the beach is relatively calm and great to swim in. The water is crystal clear and beautiful.
This was my first time in an all-inclusive resort. The staff were fantastic, pleasant to speak with and created a fun atmosphere. The resort is enormous and there's never a shortage of things to do. The food quality could have been better, but it was acceptable. I expected weak drinks with cheap alcohol but was pleasantly surprised at some of the premium selections available like Bombay Saphire and Tanqueray. I would recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing vacation.

Pretty good but not the bestPosted Dec 20, 2014
Pros: Drinks and pool area, as well as overall grounds, were great. The lobby bar and night area was awwsome.
Cons: Staff at the Garden Grill were rude, and dis not offer any options to us. They immediately disregarded our questions withput even listening.
Location: Santo Domingo capital tour.
Overall good experience, even though the food at other Punta Cana hotels is much better. Very nice hotel, nice staff, but very confusing transport system within the complex. It was very difficult to understand how to take the trollies. Staff at the beach restaurant was very rude, ignoring me standing and waiting to be order while they gawked at half naked womens rearends. Very uncomfortable to be in that position, Lobster was very very small, not like those served at other hotels. Overall good experience, but would not return to this hotel because of the mentioned above.

Great Friendly StaffPosted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: I liked the fact that everything was located close to the room...the pool, the buffet, the bars, the lobby.
Cons: The restaurants that are offered are pretty much booked solid, so you really need to be persistent to get reservations made.
Location: We stayed on property besides two excursions. There really is no need to leave the property considering the drinks and food are free.
We loved everything about this hotel. The only suggestion (which we also read before we arrived) is to book your dinner reservation immediately and you will be happy. The food was very good for it being an all inclusive. They always had golf carts available to cart us to their sister properties. I would definitely stay there again.

Adults Only Section is ExcellentPosted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Service/Staff, Food, and the Pool were very enjoyable.
Cons: Beach Space
Ambar is part of a massive resort complex with over 3500 rooms. The New Adults Only Section is set away from the beach with a beautiful pool. The beach is overrun with guests because of the massive size of the whole resort complex. No peaceful ocean/beach relaxing

Tolles Hotel, mehrere Gebäude, max. drei EtagenPosted Dec 12, 2014

Overall, positive experience at Luxury Bahia Principe Amber. The food was outstanding, especially dinner at El Olivio. The food quality and presentation was impressive. The staff was attentive, friendly yet many did not speak English. The pools were clean and the poolside music helped to improve the tropical experience. My only disappointment was the beach. It was covered with seaweed due to the season. The staff worked very aggressively to continue to remove the debris- but it was a lot. The beach area had plenty of seating and ample umbrellas. Again, overall positive experience.

Huge resort complexPosted Dec 9, 2014
Pros: The staff and the pools. The beach was beautiful, but there was a lot of seaweed that would wash up on the beach.
Cons: I like a firm mattress, but they could really use some better mattresses.
Location: They have a lot of varied activities within the complex, but there is not much else around the resort.
We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay. The pros: The staff was very pleasant and helpful. There were many choices of places to eat. There were a million pools to choose from. The cons: If you are looking for beachfront, there are not many buildings on the beach, or for that matter even close. The mattress felt like we were sleeping on a box spring. The "sports bar" doesn't open until 6 PM and even though we waited so we could watch some college football, the televisions were not turned on and the bartenders told me it was Saturday and that there was no American football, and when I told them it was college ball, they then told me they didn't get CBS on the televisions! The games were televised in our room (at least until the CBS channel switched over to Telemundo!). The stores at the resort were very expensive, not great little trinkets to buy! Ladies, bring conditioner. The "shampoo/conditioner combo" they provide will not condition your hair with the hard water.
