R & R vacation get awayPosted Mar 5, 2014
Pros: Food was very good for an all inclusive. We upgraded and enjoyed our butler Rafael. The beach area and ocean was great. Not rocky and nice waves.
Cons: The one elegance club pool needs tile work. Some tile work in the other pools also. It would be nice if the night club opened a little earlier.
Location: We enjoyed the location. Shared the casino with the sister resort. There was a shopping area nearby if you wanted to leave the resort. We did not.
We enjoyed the music in the open courtyard area. Dancing after dinner and before the show. Everyone was very friendly. We upgraded to the Elegance Club and enjoyed a smooth check in. Our butler, Rafael, was very attentive but not overbearing. We swam in the ocean, small waves no rocks, read on the beach. Enjoyed the shows and took advantage of the entertainment amenities. The French restaurant was very nice as were most of the restaurants. Loved the breakfast buffet. Would definitely go back again. Needed more than 4 days on the beach. Perfect weather, warm, no rain. Great get away. Beds & pillows were very comfortable!

Poor customer service!Posted Mar 4, 2014
We came for a wedding and had about 40 people in our party. My husband and I had no problems with check in...maybe because we booked through Expedia, however I cannot say the same for the rest of our party. When the first group of our party arrived (we came in three different groups) the front desk tried to give the keys for the whole party to that group. Not wanting to take responsibility for everybody's room keys they requested that the front desk keep them until the second group of our party arrived a few hours later. When the second party arrived they had given one from our groups room away and said they didn't have a room for her anymore!! How does this happen when only a few hours ago they were trying to give her room key to the first group??? They NEVER tried to make it right! She NEVER got a room, not a refund...they didn't offer to put her up at a different hotel of equal value either. She ended up bunking with one of the other singles on the trip. All she got was a "hotel credit" for $300-400 USD....how is that in any way equivalent to the $1600 she spent for her trip?? TERRIBLE customer service at the front desk. This just baffles me. One of the hotel employees that used to work the front desk told is that this is a weekly occurrence during the busy season in April and May. Though my husband and I had a great time I wouldn't risk staying here again for fear we may never get to see our room.

Dream holiday!Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: The people are all so nice, the food is great, the activities are fun, the beach and swimming pools are brilliant.
Cons: When we first arrived the hotel said we were overbooked and sent us to another hotel. That was extremely annoying, to say the least...
Location: There is plenty to do in the resort with events always going on, water sports by the beach, loads of restaurants á la carte, swimming pools, bars...
Amazing beach, amazing staff and people, amazing food = amazing resort!

Excellent second stayPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Generally staff great. Size , beach area, pool area.
Cons: Allowing two towels for your stay and since it is required to pick up with cards they need to be sure the towel cart is always staff
Location: Do not go shopping. We were misled by expedia rep at hotel re drop off and pickup. He stated it was a 15 min trip and the driver would wait to bring b
Fabulous smaller hotel because I love the pool areas. There are several pools that wind through the complex so no one area is over crowded and you have the option of joining in with the fun crowd or lounging in a quiet area. Food excellent but disappointed we could not make reservations for our stay at the Japanese steak house?? Never available even though we attempted at 8am.

Beautiful hotel right on the beachPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: We loved the many choices of where you could eat, loved being right on the beach, felt very safe at the resort and liked the friendly people.
Cons: You could put a full length mirror in each room for us ladies - so surprised you don't have them.
We booked our trip through Expedia and it went perfect. This hotel had been recommended to us by friends and it is all we expected it to be. The weather was perfect - a nice breeze everyday with the sun shinning bright. Beautiful, lovely, right on the beach, room was very spacious, everyone was very friendly, food was good, entertainment each night, the "best" butler named Rudy- he made our stay very delightful and the towel guy named Emanuel was the sweetest-loved seeing him each day.

Great Hotel with swim up roomsPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: The hotel was perfect. The pools were always clean, the landscaping was beautiful and the restaurants were never backed up.
Cons: The casino is very small.
Location: Took a cab ride to the Hard Rock casino. Worth the trip, but didn't win any money. Very nice casino
Pros- The hotel is beautiful. The landscaping and beach are in excellent condition. The beach is huge and snorkeling just off shore is well worth it. There are plenty of bars and service is prompt if you have tipped the bartender previously. Drinks from the waitstaff at the beach is the same way. If you tip you get better service. The food is just blah. Not good nor bad. If you want something to eat you will have plenty. You can walk the beach for miles in each direction. Cons- You need to get to the beach early to have a chair. If you are a drinker be prepared to only have Dominican rums, some cheaper vodkas, and Presidente beer. You will never want another Presidente after a week of drinking them.

Great hotel, beautiful beach, lots of funPosted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: We loved that, although this was an all-inclusive resort, the staff was continuously providing us with opportunities to have more food and drinks!
Cons: The only improvement we would request is that wine be provided to the room. We did not use the vodka or rum provided in the room.
Location: The location is very convenient. Less than 25 minutes from airport to hotel.
My husband and I spent 8 days at this resort. We stayed at the Elegance Club section of the hotel and had a wonderful time. We're already planning to go back next year for a longer stay. The beach is beautiful, the staff (in general) were terrific....always trying to get us involved in all of the fun things to do. Plenty of on-site entertainment, lots of beach barbeques, pool parties and cocktail parties. Also, every day there were lots of things to do like volleyball, ping pong, horseshoes, bocci, etc. There was nightly entertainment every night from 10:00 PM to 11:00 PM. My favorite was the 70's/80's show. They also did a Michael Jackson show, Comedy show and Majic show. We had no reason to leave the resort but we did do a full-day excursion through Expedia. It was the VIP Juanillo Tour and it was great! The food was pretty good too. Our favorites were the Japanese and Italian restaurants.
