Pleasant stay!!!Posted Apr 23, 2015
Pros: Beach, pool
Cons: Nigh shows
My overall experience at majestic elegance was pleasant and relaxing. The only negative part is the fact most staff speak very little English Hotel grounds were beautiful, great beach area by this resort ( I would say probably best I've seen in punta Cana), food ok for all inclusive. Entertainment staff tried very hard to make people enjoy their trip. I loved the bubble party at the pool. Nightly shows were ok, nothing special. For the price of this trip, the hotel can afford to hire more professional people to do the show. Both Obama and Charlie were very pleasant and funny, everyone else just went with the flow I guess I would go back again some day in the future

Majestic Elegance - ExcellentPosted Apr 22, 2015
Airport arrival: Easy. Get your bags, walk out only exit, look left for the Expedia/Blue Travel desk along the row of travel agency desks. They will direct you to shuttle (prepaid). Maybe 30' ride to resort. Check-in: Easy. Promptly greeted by our butler, Julio. He led us to check-in office. We got our wristband and signed some papers. Took about 30-40'. Orientation: After check-in, Julio gave us an orientation of resort. He did it with military efficiency, which I appreciated, but some may feel a bit rigid and clipped. I liked it-to the point and not a lot of extra chatter. After orientation, Julio took us to our room, gave us all numbers for assistance and a map. Took maybe 35' for orientation. Butler: Good dude. Said we could call him if need anything, but we didn't need anything, so didn't see him again. For 3 of 6 days he dropped off gifts (ballcaps) or niceties (incense candle) while we were out. Very nice touch. Room: Excellent. Large, attractive, and comfortable. Liked the patio. Liked the shower. No shortfalls. Minibar: Comes with a one time stock of five liquor bottles and refills daily of water, soda, and beer. Definitely plenty! Website written poorly on this point, as gives the thought "only" five liquor bottles that are not re-stocked...who cares?! Plenty of all inclusive bars throughout resort! Only opened one of the bottles at that! Food: Excellent operation. Plenty of diversity among restaurants and paricularly the two buffet restaurants.

Beautiful resort but don't go expecting good food!Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: Beautiful well-maintained property.
Cons: Pools needed to be cleaned more often and there needs to be more variety of food...same foods EVERYDAY (desserts were even worse).
Location: We didn't leave the resort due to the appearance of the surrounding area we saw while on our way from the airport to the resort.
We didn't receive a very warm welcome after we decided to handle our own luggage. The butler refused to give us a property tour once he showed us to our room. Even though management gave us a new butler, they wasn't very concerned about the incident and the way we were treated upon arrival.

Fantastic resort, but it's not perfect...Posted Apr 21, 2015
Pros: The grounds were very well maintained...especially the beach area which I'm sure was a pain to keep pristine day in and day out. Good choices for AI.
Cons: Allow people to upgrade rooms through the hotel before arrival.
Location: Great location on Bavaro beach! We spent 8 days simply relaxing on the beach and by the pools. No need to go anywhere else!
Before you book, be aware there is no way to upgrade a room with the hotel before your arrival (hotel policy) even if you're willing to pay the price increase. So of course Murphy's Law made sure there were no upgraded Majestic Club rooms available when we arrived. The staff did try to work with us and told us that we'd be contacted in 2-3 days about upgrading to a club room. However, in the meantime we were placed into a fantastic "basic" suite room overlooking two pools and very close to the beach (it even had a slight view of the ocean). The room smelled a little musty/moldy when we entered, but after bringing it up with guest services (they were great!) they cleaned the A/C intake a bit and lit candles for us. It didn't end up being a problem after that. Additionally, the all-inclusive restaurants were a very welcomed departure from traditional all-inclusive resorts (great variety), the drink selection was extremely large (delicious mojitos & mini-beers!), the pool arrangement was very elegant (such a great design!), and the beach/location was simply amazing! In the end we got upgraded to the Majestic Club. Not 100% sure it was worth it, but if you manage to get into Club building 3 (west side), the beach, bar, & pool are all within 50ft of each other. Bottom-line: I think my wife and I are pretty good at nit-picking restaurant / hotel flaws. The Majestic Elegance has a few that we noticed, but in the end you definitely won't be disappointed!
