I am in love with Melia' Caribe Tropical!Posted Nov 26, 2014
Pros: Certainly the wonderful staff... Also, there was always something to do on the resort. The food was amazing!
Cons: I would like to suggest that for your non-drinkers that you make available non-alcoholic beer, wine, and champagne all inclusive as well.
Location: The location of resort was fabulous. I was able to go off resort with ease and peace of mind knowing I would always have a ride whenever I requested.
I felt so at home there. Everyone of the staff was amazing! They made sure I was comfortable and that all my needs were attended to. I would definitely be back soon...

99% of the time is a complete enjoyment,1% not.Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: As above.
Cons: As above.
Location: Shopping Center Palma Real is O.K.
Paradise is a paradise! After visiting most of the Caribbean resorts,we found Melia Level the BEST.The assistant of our designated Personal Host: Alberto Mopledi, was simple outstanding! Food is superior, most of the National cuisine restaurants on the premisses very good. Wish Beach would be closer to our Level 49 villas, but then Swimming pool, just across the road. GABI Club place, excellent, just some times service stuff got too loud in their Spanish language conversation,in front of the guests.Looks like, most of the visitors, uncomfortable with it. Housekeeping of the rooms and grounds outstanding, real pleasure to be there! We consider week in Melia Caribe,as one of the best vacation!

Nice Hotel on the beachPosted Nov 25, 2014
We were traveling with 3 other couples. We did not upgrade our package so we did not have bar service on the beach. The property is large, however very easy to get around with the train and carts. Gym was adequate. Food and bar selections were good. Plenty of options to eat. You need to schedule your reservations early because all restaurants are not open daily. Beach is beautiful, water had seaweed, however it was cleaned up daily. Be careful with the venders on the beach. We rented a private boat and were cheated out of a hour ride. Try the painting and jewelry making classes. They are free and the instructors were great.

vacation with friendsPosted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: The facility and the staff
Cons: Time share sales pitch and reservation method at the restaurants.
we originally booked the family area, but paid the up charge for the Level adult only area. Our check in and check out went very smooth, no waiting. All of the hotel staff was very nice. Our room was very nice and clean. The pool area is very nice and clean as well. The only negative is that the morning after our check in, we understood that someone would pick us up for breakfast and show us around the very large facility. Once there we realized that we were in a sales pitch to purchase a time share. We wasted the first morning of our trip. Also making reservations for the restaurants can be time consuming. Pay the up charge and go to the steak and lobster restaurant. It is amazing. Also the two dinner restaurants in the Level Adult only area are very nice. Again, I can not say enough about the staff and the facility. We will return but will tell them up front we are not going to the time share meeting.

Second time at Melia Caribe TropicalPosted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: Beautiful grounds, nice beach area.
Cons: Unless you were paying more for their upgrade, which they call Royal Service last year, they were not that attentive.
Location: There is a small shopping area with a Hard Rock restaurant across from the hotel.
The check-in took longer than it should have. Our original room had a problem with the TV. At first they said it was the battery from the remote, than it was the TV, then they said they had no cable service, however we did notice that other TV's had service. They told us that the cable company would not be out until the next day to resolve the problem. We asked to be put in another room. The hotel did not look that occupied but they told us there was no other room. Finally we did get into another room, this took up most of our first evening there.

Pros: friendliness of all staff. very clean. beautiful beach
Cons: change policy of only allowing to book restaurants one or two days at a time
Location: location was perfect.
Treated like royalty from start to finish. Our "butler" could not do enough for us. Room was located as close to the beach as possible, as per my request.

Amazing ServicePosted Nov 20, 2014
My first trip to DR and it was by far my best vacay ever. From the moment we got there until the moment we left every single person was extremely nice, helpful, pleasant, and accommodating. I'd like to specifically thank Alex & Hector for taking such great care of us day in & out with any & everything! Also, the casino bartender Zoilo never let us get thirsty lol. The resort is very well kept and breathtaking beautiful. The food options are plenty and delicious! Our room was great & spacious. We literally do not have 1 negative thing to say about this place. I will & (already have) recommend this resort to my family & friends. We plan to return annually & wouldn't stay anywhere else!

Fantastic Staff and Beautiful!Posted Nov 19, 2014
Cons: It's big so lots of walking or taking carts. But we were blessed with a great chauffeur we gave us a cell to call him whenever we needed a ride
Location: There is a mall near by and lots of excursion opportunities, if you want to do something you can find something to do
I'd definitely go there again. Great for families or just a time away to relax. Good entertainment, the staff are fantastic.
