Nice hotel close too the beach.Posted Feb 25, 2015
Staff are very friendly and can't do enough for you. Good nightly entertainment. Clean hotel and we'll maintained. However no coffee cream to be found anywhere. The bowling alley should be included in the price. They want 10 DOLLARS per game. I didn't see anyone bowling all week. They are too pushy trying to sell you timeshare...They need to ease up on that. Also I was told from Expedia that there would be a shuttle to take us to the hotel and back. It seems every other travel providers had shuttles except for us. There were at least 50 shuttle buses there but none would take us because we were not on the list. We were very disappointed and it cost us 80 dollars American for taxis to and from the airport. In the future I will book my 3 or 4 trips a year with other service providers. Don't get me wrong...other than the shuttle situation Expedia was very good. They should provide shuttles like everyone else.

overbooked at Now LarimarPosted Feb 24, 2015
Pros: it was an upgrade from original hotel that I booked, was very clean and the rooms were spacious - clean
Cons: a lot of the foods did not have "flavor." presentation was good obviously, but many times the fish items were dry
Location: location was perfect, the beech was beautiful, nice and sandy into the ocean, no chunks of coral and broken shells to hurt your feet, awesome!
on arrival we were told that Now Larimar was overbooked and we were moved to another relative resort, upgrade. Everything was wonderful, I cant say the food was all that great but everything else was wonderful

Beautiful resort! Awesome staff!Posted Feb 11, 2015
Pros: beautifully kept clean and tidy!
Location: There was lots to do each day to keep us busy. The entertainment team activities around the pool or beach, we walked to shops nearby on the beach.
We recently returned form a GREAT week at the NOw larimar in Punta Cana! Our stay was amazing! The staff make every effort to help you out and make it special for you and your family. As I have travelled to DR many times I was pleased about a few things that set the Now Larimar resort ahead of the pack. These things include not having to prebook your restaurants for the evening. Real wooden cribs for our baby to stay in. 24 hr room service that even included bringing bottles of wine of champagne to our room. The staff went above and beyond every time we asked or inquired about anything! It never seemed as though they expected or waited for tips although we felt it was our pleasure to do this for them! Our fav staff members were Osvaldo in the main buffet. He was very attentive and always put us in a great mood. Service was outstanding!!! Ronnie in the lobby bar, great guy made nice drinks. Cesar at the front desk helped us out to keep our large wedding party together in nearby rooms at the resort, this was especially important for us having our parents and family close by to help out with the baby. My only critic would be there waslittle privacy within the room when it came to the bathrooms. They were beautifully open to the room, but not sound proof by any stretch of the imagination...lol

Beautiful hotel with a very attentive staffPosted Feb 8, 2015
The hotel was running short on towels on a daily basis both Beach towels and towels for the room. The water in the shower and the bath was ice cold. They sent a maintenance man to fix it then it was scalding hot and would switch from cold to scalding hot then from scalding hot to cold and back-and-forth while we were in the shower.

Nice hotel on the beachPosted Feb 5, 2015
Pros: Clean and service oriented. Anything you needed or wanted, just have to ask.
Cons: A lot less sales pressure for private vacation properties. Very annoying.
Location: We just love the beach and the warm weather. I am sure there are many opportunities for extras if guests are interested.
Fabulous staff. Very friendly and have no problem with English speaking guests.

Great hotel by the beachPosted Feb 1, 2015
This place was really nice and the staff was super friendly. Unfortunately the shoreline was full of seaweed :( not sure if there's anything the hotel can do about that. The food wasn't the best or the worst... That papaya milkshake was delicious!!!

Good place to stayPosted Jan 31, 2015
Pros: beach access and greenery
Cons: free WiFi, no misrepresentation on their website.
Location: We walked 10 minutes to the mall close by (forgot the name ) and San Juan mall is like 10 min in taxi. Make sure to go there.
Good building, little high priced, no need to upgrade to preferred unless you really want a private pool (others will be there as well) + free WiFi + top shelf spirits. I thought to upgrade but didn't see value and didn't even regret later on. A la carte was good food, good experience with restaurants, not so good with Mexican food place. On their website it said that snorkeling etc are free whereas I paid close to $200 for Snorkeling. I didn't like the idea as in my opinion it is stealing. Check the water sports and activities and make sure to call hotel to confirm if they are free or not? Buy 2 bandanna's for each traveler. I can't write why but you will not regret buying them.

Nice Hotel, But Worth Preferred OptionPosted Jan 27, 2015
Pros: Staff, pools, towel service
Cons: Better quality of alcohol; food quality and selection needs improvement; rooms if you don't take the Preferred Option
Location: We didn't venture off the resort. We were there to unwind and get sun, which was exactly what we did.
We are experienced with AMResorts and Now Larimar Punta Canta is probably the lowest tier of their offerings. AMResorts owns Now, Dreams, Breathless, Secrets and Zoetry resorts with the cost of stay increasing in that order. That said, the experience was good, and while the rooms were basic, they were in good shape. They take good care of the property as well. However, there is a Preferred option you can ask for which costs about USD$30 per person per night, and I believe it is well worth the upgrade. The rooms are definitely nicer, views are better and the extra care that is taken by the staff is worth it while the quality of alcohol is better. Plus there is a pool and bar area for Preferred members only.Truth be told, the Preferred option makes the experience like a Dreams Resort experience, which is great. We've stayed at both Dreams and Secrets in the past so we love the brand. Now Larimar is definitely nice with an active night life. The resort comes alive at 10 pm nightly and has 20-, 30- and 40 somethings partying away. If loud music or clubbing is your thing, then you'll enjoy yourself. My clubbing days are over, so the noise was a mild distraction in an otherwise peaceful and restful vacation. Also, there is a casino which I promptly entered and exited because of the smoke.
