Love RIU Palace!

Posted Apr 15, 2015
This was our 2nd time staying at RIU Palace and it was great to see all the same pleasant faces from the wait staff, check in and the entertainment staff! The food in all of the themed restaurants were even better this year and the open buffet restaurant was fabulous as well! Only suggestion for the restaurants it to have more flexibility with times for reservations v. Only 6:30 or 9:00 p.m. Weather is always beautiful in Punta Cana!

dont ever go there

Posted Apr 9, 2015
No hot water for 7 nights. My kids and I had to shower with cold water. Complained to management and still it was never fixed. The rooms are very old. The pool is falling apart, missing tiles everywhere and broken concrete. The only nice part is the beach. Food is terrible. No variety....

Nice resort on the beach

Posted Apr 2, 2015
The beach was beautiful, the staff was nice, and the resort food was good. The restaurant food was much better than the Buffett food. The Krystal restaurant was excellent! The only issue we had was communicating with the front desk regarding a problem at the airport.

Somewhat disappointed

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: Plenty of liquor Nice pool
Cons: Rude manager Food was mediocre
Location: Not much to do near by, especially at night. We had to walk to the shared disco (club) to dance and enjoy music.
This was our first trip to the Dominican Republic and overall the stay was enjoyable. Some pros were the cleanliness of the hotel and most of the staff was very pleasant and welcoming. The liquor was plentiful and the cocktails were delicious. Some cons were the manager of the hotel was rude and condescending when we asked about the dress code for dinner at the buffet. The food was mediocre (even for resort food) and the entertainment in the evening was very poor.

Catered to

If you want it.... You got it. Staff was great. Definitely entertaining, but if you want to experience the Dominican culture and real experience, I would stay in the bavaro area. Other then that, it's exactly what you payed for. Nightly shows, eat whenever you want, blue water and great people
