Good beach and great staffPosted Dec 12, 2014
Bed was uncomfortably hard and they moved two doubles together for our "king". Very very old crowd as well. I am 27 and didnt mind it but a couple of years ago i would have hated it. Was youngest there by far.

Senior Citizen ResortPosted Dec 8, 2014
Pros: The rooms were very nice with his and her sinks in the bathroom. The rooms were nice.
Cons: They need a Jacuzzi and everything shouldn't close so early.
Location: The location was good. It was easy to walk over to the fellow RIU resorts which had more amenities.
This is beautiful, friendly, and clean resort. However, my husband and I usually pay a little extra to stay at adult only resorts because they usually have more of a night life due to the fact that there r no kids to worry about. But this resort was the complete opposite of what we were looking for. There was no Jacuzzi, all the pools close at 6pm, and there was nothing exciting or fun to do at night. There were nothing but elderly people that stayed here, very few young people. If you are under 50 then this isn't the resort to stay at. Oh and the food was nothing special either.

If you like Michael Bolton this is your place!Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: The beach was beautiful . White sand clear blue water.
Cons: The entertainment. Play some upbeat music at the pool! We heard more Michael Bolton than we ever wanted to!
Location: Resort is fairly close to the airport. There is a little row of shops on the side of the hotel and about a mile walk down the beach.
I'll cut to the chase. The resort and rooms are clean but there is a weird odor (especially after cleaning). The beds are hard and the pillows are small (smaller than standard). We did not recieve a warm welcome like we usually do when entering a resort, we only got our welcome drinks as we were about to step in the elevator to be taken to our rooms. The buffet food was what you would expect for an all inclusive resort, nothing great. It was the same things day in and day out. They do not keep it open around the clock. Having the option to get a bite to eat late in the evening is always nice when on vacation. We ate at the Japanese restaurant which was awful. We left and went for a "second" dinner at the buffet and saw other couples do the same. The Steak House was the only place worth reserving. The fancy place (Krystal) was too over the top for me (duck liver and bone marrow). The beach was absolutely beautiful as was the weather! Do keep in mind there was a lot of sea weed and the waves are pretty rough! The staff for the most part was not very friendly (with a few exceptions) and almost made us feel as if we were a hassle. After we checked in we went down to the beach bar and ordered a drink around 5:50PM, the bartender did not seem happy and I am pretty sure he rolled his eyes at us (apparently they close at 6). Resort caters to over 65. There was no music playing unless it was Michael Bolton or Bryan Adams (seriously).

Cleanest resort we ever stayed in Punta CanaPosted Dec 2, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness, nice beach area, plenty of chairs. Juan in the pool bar.
Cons: To go containers for lunch & snacks. Laminate towel cards and allow 2 towels per card. The shows(entertainment).
Location: We stayed on the resort. Casino was not crowded. The dancing & live music in the bar area was great fun. The beach is big & plenty of chairs.
The resort & rooms were very clean. The beach is very nice, palm trees are spread so you can find shade & sun on the beach. Lots of seaweed the first 2 days then the ocean cleared & the seaweed was picked up off the beach. Food was good for an all inclusive. We didn't have a problem getting reservations. The buffet was excellent-breakfast was outstanding. They should give you to go containers to take your lunch to the beach. The seafood restaurant is closed on Fridays. We missed out because we didn't know. A packet at check in with all the information on restaurants & activities would be helpful. The drinks were good and strong. Juan in the pool bar is fantastic, and so funny. Noel was a very nice server and greeter. We saw him in many of the restaurants. Entertainment could be better but the bands, and music in the main bar every evening was great and dancing was encouraged. Maid service was outstanding. 6 of us(family) had a wonderful time.

Wonderful VacationPosted Nov 24, 2014
Pros: I liked the layout of the property and the proximity to the beach. Most of all, we liked the fact that there are NO KIDS:-)
Cons: The wine could have been upgraded.
Location: The Riu "sister" properties are nearby. We also did some water sports which was a short walk down the beach.
The Riu Palace Macao was wonderful. The staff was friendly and attentive. The facility was clean, updated and on the beach. The food was excellent and the variety was unbelievable. The liquor was premium and the bartenders made great drinks.

Husband's Birthday.Posted Nov 16, 2014
Pros: They staff was very friendly, the mini bar was fully stock and if there was something you would have rather had, they went out of the way to get it.
Cons: Softer beds,
Location: They have a street between the resorts for shopping, casino, or you can walk to the markets on the beach. The resort had wind sailing avail we did,
Check in was great, and was greeted with a rum punch drink, We have always stayed at the RIU Palace for the past 6 years. Cabo, Jamaica, Cancun, and now Punta Cana. This was our 1st adult only, It was very good, and I recommend it to anyone that wants to relax. The room was perfect and had fresh fruit when we arrived to it, It over looked the pool which was great. Our 1st morning I made reservation for the specialty dinners. Marco was great in handling all of this since "Sat" was my husband's birthday. I tip him for things he had taken care, and had done that was very much appreciated and greasy the palm always helps. We had reservations at the steak house, and had a great dinner, Marco even brought lobster with our steak. Plenty to eat!! they even brought a cake for my husband. I'm an early riser and found myself reading and having coffee in the dinning room at 5:30am. My husband and I was called by our first name which it made it more personable, and they always had a coffee pot ready! Trip was Nov7-14, and was originally schedule to Puerto Vallarta, RIU Palace but we had to change at the last minute due to Hurricane Vance, The weather was great Low 90's with great breeze at the beach. The swim up bar at the pool was great because there was nothing getting out of hand, and all the people had manors. The evening shows where entertaining, or you could go to the Casino. We spent a few nights walking the beach and looking at the other RIU a total of 5

After seeing our initial room without a view we upgraded to suite with jacuzzi on balcony. Well worth the extra money for my birthday weekend... the food was good except the Japanese restaurant.. not worth a reservation... the pool and beach area were beautiful.. I would stay again.
