“Best DR getaway for adults!!!”
This hotel is amazing! Best places to eat were the wok and blue marlin ... Don't go to the steakhouse wasn't that great but for where u are it's just ok ...staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We would love to go back but now that it's owned by salamander hotels and they have decided to make it kid friendly we are very disappointed and hope they realize what a mistake it is to allow kids there ... They ruin everything!
“Excellente!”
We had minor grievances with Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana, but on the whole they were insignificant and totally overshadowed by the high points of the stay. The food was excellent every night and every day. The staff were couteous to the point of being fawning. The grounds were post card-worthy, and the weather was beautiful (even when it rained, the party never stopped). A+
“Punta Cana's best resort!”
We went to Secrets Sanctuary Cap Cana for rest and relaxation. We found just that. The resort was beautiful and the service was impeccable. My only critique is that our suite did not provide adequate air conditioning. It was a two story loft suite with one vent upstairs. It was always a bit warm in the room, however, we had such a lovely time it did not become a major issue. Be sure to bring your own bug repellant because the onsite store does not carry any. The grounds are beautiful and the restaurants serve wonderfully cooked food. The resort staff go out of their way to make your stay as pleasant as possible. You are greeted throughout the resort like long lost family. I certainly recommend the resort to anyone looking for a romantic adult atmosphere.
“Did not want to leave!”
My husband and I stayed at Secrets Sanctuary in Cap Cana for 10 days for our honeymoon and it was absolutely perfect! We stayed in the beach front junior suite and it was lovely, but the last 3 days we upgraded to the honeymoon suite with the private pool. The upgraded room was so amazing, from the views to the extra space we had! We both loved the room service and used it quite a bit and the staff members were so polite, helpful, and fun! We would definitely go back so they can welcome us "home" again!
“Good but not Great”
great vacation but a couple of things not up to par. The only hot-tub available was not heated at all, the food was good but not great.
“Great Resort”
Beautiful resort. Ocean a bit cool and lots of seaweed (although the resort staff did a good job clearing it). Staff could not be more polite and helpful. A special thanks to Kala and Frank!
“Ambivalent would be the word I am looking for........”
The resort is beautiful - the architecture, the gardens, the pools and the fact that it is Adult Only. These items are exceptional! But, as is typical in Caribbean All-Inclusives, the food is average and recycled but I did enjoy the Steakhouse. The service is inconsistent. One example would be the poolside service at the Ocean Bar. One day, the service is constant. The bartender brings you a new drink as soon you finish. The next day, the bartender never once comes out to serve you (you walk to the bar to get your drinks). I'm not lazy, but they should pick a level of service and stick with it. Requesting items for my room was tedious, mostly due to the language barriers. Once I translated it from English to Spanish on my computer for them, my request was finally fulfilled, but it took 12 hours. I suggest taking an English to Spanish translator. Free internet in your room and WiFi in some spots. Beachfront Junior Suite was great and I highly recommend it. TV had a lot of channels BUT disappointed that you couldn't watch it in bed. Not happy with the small beach because the water was always cloudy close to land and they don't regularly clean up the seaweed, which started to smell rotten after 4 days. The beaches that flank the resort are beautiful to walk on, but there are no services (chairs, towels, bars) on these beaches. Be skeptical of other sites that are loaded with great reviews due to kickbacks (upgrades, etc.) from SSCC. This includes their FB page.
“Not Impressed”
Could use a TV in front of the BED. Hot water was a long wait. Room service menu needs to be expanded. Spa accomodations not that good. I have seen better less expensive hotels in teh Punta Cana Area.
“Romantic Getaway”
The resort was beautiful and well maintained, however, the main beach was small for such a large resort. The restaurants were good but I would have liked more Dominican/ Latin American food choices. I did not realize this was an all inclusive resort when I booked it- What a pleasant surprise when I arrived and found out it was. It was my first all-inclusive and I was impressed with all the food and drink choices, quality, and how available they were throughout the day.
“Misconceptions”
The initial room was not exactly oceanview as described, although after complaining we did get to move to a much nicer room the second day of our stay. The dining was not exactly "all inclusive". . . watch out for surcharges. The Spa was okay at best. The swim up pool bar, on most days did not have cold beer available. The breakfast lunch buffet was quite small compared to most resorts we have been to. Overall....would not go back nor recommend to anyone.
