Great for couples who want to escape.

Pros: The little train that takes you from place to place
Cons: Food
The hotels and the hotel grounds were beautiful and well kept. The rooms were clean and comfortable and clean. Housekeeping did a great job! There is a language barrier the staff speaks very little English and comminicating with them can be challenging. The food is Mediocare at best. Their best restaurants were ok. The Japanese one was the best in our opinion. But overall the place is beautiful and we would definately go aback.

Not the place to go on vacation

Pros: Many large pools and ocean beach is nice
Cons: Food & room Butler
Upon first appearance the hotel it looks beautiful because the grounds are well maintained, Unfortunatly that's where it ends. We booked a swim out room when we entered our room I first notice the shower door did not close they told me they would have it fixed that evening and it never was. The boards on the deck are all coming up with splinters and many of the pool tiles are missing or falling out. The water was clean and we had no trouble finding beach chairs when we decided to head to the beach each day. One evening after returning from dinner the key card opener on our door would not work. It took over an hour to get this fixed becouse no one seemed to know who to call. The food is bad unless you eat at the Japanese steak house. I will admit I am a little picky and I've been to many all-inclusive resorts but the food here was terrible and we tried many different things. Never and I mean never trust your room butler. He told me upon arrival he would take care of everything for my vacation so I booked parasailing with him and paid him on the spot. Over the next two days he told me it was to windy and he would return my money, well I never got it back and anyone at the front office kept referring me back to my butler because that's who booked it. Management is very layered so you never really know who's in charge. The last day our butler who said was working was gone and the new butler acted like he didn't know who mine was.

Pros: Staff very friendly and accomadating
Cons: Food at Italian restr.
Location: Great location- 30 mins. from airport and easy to get to if you rent a car.
Everyone was friendly and tried to meet all of your needs. May is the best time to be there when it is not busy. Italian restr. needs help- food wasn't that great. Great hotel for honeymooners.

25th Anniversary stay was GOOD!
Posted Jan 25, 2013
Pros: Beach, lush grounds, food and entertainment!
Cons: Service and attention to detail were a bit lacking. Stepping this up a notch would greatly affect the overall impression and feeling of a quality stay
Location: BEAUTIFUL BEACH :) :) :)
Overall this was a beautiful resort/wonderful beach/great food & drink & entertainment. For these reasons I would recommend. These are a few flaws/little things that affect the overall FEEL of the rooms, but please keep in mind our room WAS clean: 1.)We were in a Cabana swim up suite. There were some black mars & dings on walls, chunks missing from the trim molding in various spots, hand swing arm mirror in bathroom was broken away from the wall and hanging loosely, shower leaked out on the floor and left a puddle daily, mattress not plush feeling, deck out by the pool needs staining, pool needs some scrubbing and tile replacement. 2.)Service could have been better-upon arrival we waited approximately 30-45 mins for a Butler to show us our room- and then he only spent 10-15 mins with us while on his radio the whole time :( Did not explain much and left a phone ext. basically for if we had questions. On the beach-not good drink service-waited too long so most of the time we got our own drinks. Towel service by beach was confusing at first. Basically couldn't get a towel the first 2 times we asked so had to get our first set of towels from the main lobby Concierge. We tipped everyone who helped us while we were there although this didn't make a difference in our service experience unfortunately. TIP: Dont forget to share your soft drinks-which are free and stocked daily in your minifridge-with the groundsmen (in green) as they work so hard to keep the grounds beautiful.

Awesome resort on a great beach in Bavaro
Posted Jan 24, 2013
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever you asked, or even if you looked like you were confused. Golf carts and trams were available.
Cons: There were a few issues with our room (light fixture went out, sink backed up) but the staff was quick to repair once they were notified.
Location: The resort was on the beach, plenty of excursions available, shopping both in town and on the beach.
My wife and I decided on this resort after extensively reviewing all of the options in the Bavaro/Punta Cana area on the Dominican Republic. We could not be more pleased at our selection. We met several couples during our stay who stated that this was not their first time to stay there. The food selection was pretty good, with multiple different cuisines (Brazilian, Japanese, Mediterranean, etc. available) as were the options for additional excursions. The staff was great, very friendly and accommodating. We also enjoyed the fact that it was an adults only facility. The swim up bar at the pool was also a bonus!

Beautiful place but too expensive.

Pros: It was very pretty.
Cons: Get new chefs.
I had little to no air conditioning, the food was left to be desired, room service was way too slow (supposed to wait up to 30 minutes but my food came and hour and a half later).

Can't beat for the money

Pros: Just about everything.
Cons: Food I guess but when you're cooking for thousands of people my expectations are different than from a smaller hotel or resort
Location: Did an amazing Dune Buggie and Sailing excursion.
I travel a ton and have done a few $5000 per couple all-inclusives in Aruba, Saint Lucia and Mexico. The Royal Suites is half the price and if you can live with a few things, worth every penny. The first thing that comes to mind during my stay was the staff. Other than a few employees here and there 99% of the staff was amazing, helpful and friendly particularly our butlers. A few reviewers didn't understand the point of the butler but for me they took care of everything from getting us a card to towels, restocking the bar everything. There is a pretty big language barrier so if you get frustrated easily because of something like that go into it knowing you may have a difficult time in certain situations asking or answering questions. The grounds were beautiful and very very well kept, everything was clean. The rooms are fairly new. Food was hit or miss. For the most part the dinners were always good, one thing I noticed most other all-inclusives don't do is here you can have a restaurant dinner every night, a lot of places only give you a certain amount based on the days you stay. Once we found the second breakfast buffet I was more than satisfied with the selection of food but the first three days we were at a different breakfast buffet and it sucked. The resort is loaded with hot and cold snakes all times of the day everywhere. Room service food was room service food don't think you'll be blown away.

Great Hotel

Pros: Swim Up Room
Cons: Communication and staff training
Location: Great location not far from airport
The resort was to me the best out of all the other resorts in Punta Cana/Bavaro, you have to get the swim up rooms, as they are amazing, and the also come with a VIP like treatment. We had a small issue with the bagage as it was missplaced and it ended up at the airport, the hotel needs a little more organazation and comunication with in the staff. We lost a day of our vacation trying to get our bagage, the next day they provided us with a Champagne bottle and a platte of fruit, which are both free anywhere you go in the resort, so we really did not receive any type of compensation for the wrong doing. Tomas one of the golf kart drivers was very helpful with all the issues that we had, but he was the only one that really helped. The resort its great and its BIG, it has everything that you need. The market place has very fair prices, they are better than other market places outside from the resort. I gave my girlfriend a romantic dinner and it was great.

Swim up room
Posted Jan 4, 2013
The "Swim Up Room" Jr Suite was nice. The only issue was that the shower door did not close all of the way so the bathroom floor was wet most of the time. The majority of the staff was very nice. The only ones who seem a bit cold and rude were the front desk staff.
