Nice hotel close to the beach

Posted Nov 3, 2013
Helpful staff, rooms were functional, room service was prompt. The hotel has a nice swimming pool, and a couple of good in-house restaurants. I found it curious that hot water was available only in the morning from 5 to 8 am. They did provide hot water in a bucket in the evening when I requested it. Good stay, a bit on the pricier side.

Nice rooms - hotel in process of being renovated

Posted Aug 20, 2012 on Hotels.com
Our room was very nice. The rest of the hotel needs to be spruced up and seems like some work was being done. Staff is helpful. Surrounding and beach area could be cleaned up.

There was no hot water during our stay and the service was very indifferent. The restaurant food was good and location was nice.

Disappointed

Posted Dec 17, 2011
Location: Konark (30 kms away) has a magnificent temple.
This hotel is located on the beach-front but unfortunately this suffers from use as a toilet and is cut by an open sewer running into the sea - this does't make for pleasant walking - a pity because the beach could be magnificent. The corridor approaching our room was scruffy and had open access to what seemed to be an are for dumping builders rubbish. Our room had a leaking toilet and there was no hot water after midday. The saving grace of the hotel was its restaurant - we were impressed with the food and the willingness of the staff. Its prices were very reasonable. The hotel is very busy and popular with Indian tourists/families.

For the money the hotel is totally unacceptable and extremely expensive to a tourist from Europe or US. Its room, bath rooms, showers and entire ambience inside the room is extremely dirty and filthy full of mosquiotoes, flies and dust on the bed and carpet. The food served in the restaurant is stale and unhygienic and no sanitary conditions on the sinks. A bad odour comes from furnitures. Waiters are lazy, slow and unattentive

Dirty hotel!

Posted Apr 25, 2011
This hotel was the low point of our trip to India. Our room was really dirty - the corners, the window, mirror, and bathroom walls all looked as if they had never been cleaned. The pillows smelled bad. The hotel appeared to be in a state of renovation; however is very shabby, and overlooks a building site. The swimming pool itsef was ok but the pool area was really grubby. Having said all that, it seems to be be very popular, so maybe we were missing something.

Beach View

Good quality International hotel, with pool, all rooms with great view of the sea, dining room down in a basement, but good beach cafes near by. Convenient for Konark Sun Temple - but take a car - too far for a shaky tuc-tuc!
