Try too hard

When I arrived, I was put in a low floor room that had stained furniture and mold in the shower. My agent asked for me to be moved. I got a cleaner, higher floor room. It was better. Very late turn down service. After 9pm. Most times i was already in my pajamas and ready for bed. The gym was very clean and I complained about their inability to clean machines after each user. I had food prep issues in the Valley Wing lounge for breakfast. Overall it was not a good stay. Management tried to make up for it, but harassing me and following me around the hotel and into elevators is not the way to treat me. I gave up on Shangri-la many years ago. I had stayed in this hotel twice in the last 7 weeks and I will hopefully not be back.

Great hotel!

As a regular visitor to QD I have tried a number of hotels in the city. Conspicuously missing from the lineup is a four seasons, Ritz Carlton, or something of that super caliber, which is surprising for a bustling city like QD. So after trying a few of them, I have landed on the Shangri-La as my main stay. The breakfast is excellent, the rooms are great, the location is great, and everything always goes smoothly. To be fair the Intercontinental is also top-notch and I would be just as happy staying there but it seems to be regularly booked up.

Great Hotel - A bit older

The hotel is in a wonderful location and the services is top notch. However, it is a bit old and the wear and tear shows.
